This is probably my hundredth time coming here. Everyone knows my name when I come here and pretty much everyone fucks with me except a couple randoms. Not a lot of people know this but Alphaville is one of the best places in the tri-state area to get an ice cold Guinness. My bartender Brandon taught me how to blow smoke rings or "O's" on his cigarette break. This just goes to show how personable and friendly the bar staff are. Come by here if you're ever running away from your crazy ex girlfriend who thinks you cheated but you didn't even though you could have

I love going to concerts! My spending categories are definitely art, booze, food and shows! And Alphaville covers most of those needs. I've popped in here many times for a beer or a small snack of fried goodies but I have not been for a show. I was excited to see local modern goth rockers "Bootblacks" and romantic, goth band "Weeknight" were playing together. "Weeknight" had been on hiatus and therefore the turn out was pretty huge. The entire bar was jam packed. The place is CASH ONLY. And it was super hard to get to the water cooler. I also couldn't believe the amount of people talking during the show. If you wanna talk, don't go to shows. I'm here to watch the band and shake my tail feather. "Bootblacks" had been on my concert eye for awhile. If you ever watch the movie "Blade Runner" this band sounds and looks like if the replicants started a band. It's got electronic keyboard dance moves and the vocals are spot on. And in top of that there is a trumpet coming in at perfect timing. I could dance the night away listening to these guys. https://bootblacks.bandcamp.com/ "Weeknight" got super crowded and it was very hard to get a good spot. They sounded amazing and I liked that the stage was easy to see in the back venue. https://weeknightmusic.bandcamp.com/ I can't forget to mention Kyle Avallone the opener. The solo act with his keyboard was reminiscent of a Nick Cave beatnik. Very cool vibe. https://soundcloud.com/healing-light/kyle-avallone-nobodys-baby-now Alphaville is a intimate space for shows and worth checking out but make sure to bring the cash!!

Rodeo Chicken Sandwich. Fried chicken w/ cheddar cheese, bacon, onion rings, BBQ sauce, and ranch dressing. Comes w/ fries. Yes please.

Ordered the "Rodeo Chicken Sandwich" (aka Fried Chicken Sandwich) for delivery. As a person with not a massive appetite, and whom hates the MASSIVE, almost inedible 'Man V. Food' styled portions we get today, this was great. The sandwich is the perfect size for one person, and packs a lot of punch (It's about the same size as the Cast Iron Cheeseburger from Forrest Point). The fries are fantastic and actually hilariously big / thick (making the sandwich look smaller in comparison). Overall, it was a good portion for both the cost, and what I'm use to consuming. Would definitely order again.

The music is at a low enough volume that you can hear your conversations, it doesn't get too crowded so you can spread out, even if you're in a large group. Downstairs, it's a lot tighter, with a DJ, dance floor, lounge seating area, and a much more packed and busy atmosphere on the weekends. I like ping ponging between both vibes when I'm with friends. Admittedly I've found the music both times to be too experimental for me. Confessing that makes me feel like an old person shaking my fist or at least shaking my head, misunderstanding what makes the youth tick. But I had no trouble twirling around the dance floor to this weird experimental music after throwing back a few tequila sodas upstairs. A few times while here my friends have split up into the group that wants to go downstairs to dance and the group that wants to stay upstairs and chill. It's relatively easy to navigate between both vibes, which I enjoy about this spot very much.

When we saw "Water Tower" on the elevator we decided to press it. SO GLAD WE DID. We landed at the Water Tower and walked into a fairly empty space decorated with art all the way to the ceiling, filled with natural light coming in and the views of the skyline were out of this world. We had to try their drinks of course to enjoy with the incredible view. Though the drinks are $21 and served in a plastic cup that evening, I was NOT expecting my drink to be this insanely delicious. I ordered the inferno Paloma which they infuse themselves with- and it was true perfection. By the way, each bar has their own menu which is pretty awesome and makes it even more fun. Also, Axel is the most incredible bartender and we absolutely loved his creations. Later that night we ordered a custom mandarin margarita, with a spicy twist, and WOW. He's truly talented and absolutely made us some awesome drinks that we can't stop talking about. Sunset with a view and a spicy mezcal drink? Yes and YES. We had this place all to ourselves and can't wait to be back. Friday nights they have DJ nights and you can also book the Water Tower for your own private events which is pretty cool!

We were in a sunlit room and it really set the mood. Our server was great, and we ordered family-style. Just a heads up, they have a separate "Sunday drunch" menu so options are a bit limited. For apps, we got the curry crab gyoza which was a very small portion (6/10) and the roasted mushroom truffle flatbread which was the highlight of the meal (8.5/10). For mains, we tried the biang biang Rasta noodles with salmon (6/10) and the sofrino roasted chicken (5/10). Both were a bit underwhelming. I've heard their drinks are great but we didn't try any. Food-wise, I was a little disappointed, but still had a great time catching up with friends.

The Sweet Potato Beignets with hot honey & parmesan were definitely interesting--sweet, savory, and a bit unexpected. Not my favorite item of the night, but still worth trying if you like unique flavor combos. The BK Sliders (3 pc) were solid: thick applewood smoked bacon, American cheese, Russian dressing, and pickle on mini brioche buns. Simple, satisfying, and nicely done. The real standout though was the Calamari with shichimi pepper, jalapeño, lime zest, and herbal dipping sauce--absolutely amazing. Crispy, flavorful, and the seasoning had just the right kick. Overall a great experience, and I'd definitely come back--especially for that calamari and another hot toddy.

It is too bad Yelp doesn't allow half stars as I would honestly put this one at a 3.5 and am rounding up. While the quality of the elevated seafood bites is immaculate, they are just that: a bite or two of food, for an elevated price considering the amount of food you get. After spending $76 a person, we were still hungry, whereas that amount would have been enough to feed two average women at another good restaurant. But if you go with an expense account or trust fund baby, definitely get the scallops and the yellowtail pastrami because those two items will blow your mind. Our waitress pointed these two out to us and we're grateful for her guidance because it was spot on. Paying for bread at a Solomonov joint is odd. No dessert menu is odder. Wheelchair access details: The bar is on a terrace. The accessible entrance is through the Hoxton hotel. A staff member will take you through the k'far kitchen and up via a service elevator. No barriers once you are upstairs and plenty of accessible outdoor and indoor/outdoor options, including a small length of wheelchair height bar. A perfectly functional though unexciting wheelchair accessible restroom is available.
