Although my son originally signed up for group lessons, when he was the only one that registered, Amelia did not cancel the sessions or raise the cost for what was not private lessons. Due to the wonderful set-up, I was able to watch the lessons while she taught him water polo skills and ran him through drills. I was quite impressed with how clearly she verbally broke down the skills prior to demonstration and her relaxed methods of correcting/adjusting his form. At the end of the sessions, he had a firm foundation to begin working out with the water polo team. Additionally, I was able to observe the lessons before and after my son's and I could see the same supportive manner in working with those students. Regardless of the type of lesson you are looking for, I recommend Amelia and A Splashing Success Swim School without hesitation.

As someone with a background in education, I can tell how much skill & experience she has (she has 50 yrs of teaching experience) in everything she does with them that looks so natural but she's doing everything for a specific reason to get them closer to being proficient swimmers. I had been looking for a one-on-one lesson. Kilmers Swim Time, taught by Lori Kilmer sounded just like what I had been searching for. I called her and booked lesson throughout the next 2.5 months to start. My son, who's about to turn 4 yr old has had 5, 30 minute swim lessons now. He started off shy and quiet. Not sure of this new place and person. But with each lesson he has opened up more and learned SO much! Lori has toys on the side of the pool she uses to keep the kids interested and focused in their lesson. She's so good with kids! Her style of teaching has my easily distracted kiddo focused and engaged the WHOLE lesson. It's impressive! Having my son, who is comfortable in water, but did not know how to swim, have one-on-one lessons is so much less stressful. With group lessons with a different company last year I was so paranoid of him going under the water and no one noticing, since they'd be working with a different kid and have their back to the kids who were waiting for their turn. He has always been interested in falconry, so this was a really unique way to get a taste of it and get up close and personal with some of the birds. I just did the companion experience so I could take photos and video, but I loved seeing the birds doing their thing, too! Denise was so knowledgeable about the birds and it was such a pleasure to be around her. You can really tell how much her and Kirk love the birds and have a passion for what they do. Tig the Great Horned Owl was definitely my favorite. He had so much personality. And it was pretty metal to watch him eat a whole dead chick in a few gulps. Alibaba and Habibi were also beautiful birds and so fast! Kirk had them flying around and dive bombing for a simulated hunt. They were like little bullets! The coolest part is definitely getting to handle the birds and have them fly to and from your arm. I wish that part lasted a little longer though. But my husband was definitely happy with all of it! I highly, highly recommend Sky Falconry and the Owl and Hawk experience. I definitely want to go back for some falconry classes and a hawk walk soon. Go if you have the chance!
