Next day around 10 am, Melissa called, saying she had our booking planned, and she had a lifeguard for our party. She told me that my lifeguard was going to call me, ( he did within 5 minutes), and that she would sent the PayPal link. I payed and confirmed with her over the phone. My lifeguard arrived 15 minutes before the set time, and was ready to go to work. He was very nice to the kids, and didn't even want to grab a bite or a drink, we offered him. I saw him always engaged looking at the kids in the pool. Never saw him looking elsewhere. I am very impressed by the professional service they delivered, and wouldn't think twice to hire them again.

He was incredibly patient with the boys (even when they were endlessly splashing him) nand really knew how to engage them and keep them comfortable while learning. He was also really funny, and the kids absolutely loved him and looked forward to their swim lessons! He made the lessons fun while still teaching them a lot. With our 6 year old, he helped her build on the skills she already had, refine her technique, and learn new strokes. He did a great job adjusting the lessons to each child's age and ability. Diego was also always on time, easy to communicate with, and great about answering all of our questions. We always felt like we knew how the kids were doing and what they were working on. The kids made huge progress and really took leaps and bounds with their swimming in just six lessons. We were so impressed with how much they improved and how much more confident they became in the water. Diego was patient, encouraging, knowledgeable, and genuinely great with the kids. The fun you have is dependent on who is on staff that day. I don't know what happened between this year and last, but this year is not great. Some lifeguards and people at the desk are so rude. On one hand, I'm sympathetic because I know these jobs can be seasonal and you have to train new people, deal with customers, safety, etc, etc. But they create so much confusion and then they're rude when you follow the rule someone else on staff gave you. Then you tell them another person told you to do that and they act like you pulled this info out of your own butt. Last time I was there, I was going back and forth from the pool to the desk because the lifeguard and desk staff couldn't agree on whether my kids needed wristbands. Like I said, if this is just confusion between newer staff, that's fine, I feel for you. But they were both SO rude about it and were getting annoyed with me ‍ This is just the recent example, but it's now probably half our visits that there's some weird triangulation between me and two staff members telling me different things. There are some people who work here that are awesome and friendly. When they do swim tests, they speak clearly to the kids and give instructions/expectations clearly. They're straightforward and friendly when we check in. I think he might be a manager (he wears the pit vipers and has facial hair), he's super friendly although I don't see him that much any more. Sorry I don't know their names, but always relieved when they're there (and coincidentally they all seem to be on the same page with the rules/expectations ).

LOL) to learning the right ways, she's guided me with a lot of enthusiasm and patience! Observing her back then coaching other adults, everyone can really tell how knowledgeable and confident but humble she is at what she's doing. Kristina is a coach you wouldn't want to let go of! She will accommodate and is very flexible with whatever is comfortable for your learning and speed -- no pressure at all! I started swimming for exercise a few months ago after higher impact activities weren't working for my body anymore, and I quickly noticed I had no idea what I was doing, even though I'd learned how to swim as a kid. Basically I could survive in the pool, but thriving wasn't even a possibility. After only a few lessons with Kristina, I feel more confident, I'm understanding how to breathe without freaking out, and I'm becoming more aware of how my body moves in the water. I've even worked my way up to swimming for about an hour, because I'm learning how to swim more efficiently. After completing the program with my 4.5 yo son and 2.5 yo daughter, I can confidently say this was one of the best investments we've made. Let's address the two biggest concerns: the price and the tears. Yes, $600 for ten 10-minute lessons sounds expensive at first. I thought the same thing. But after experiencing it, I completely understand John's philosophy that time is money. Last summer, we enrolled in a traditional swim program. It was much cheaper, but after eight lessons my son had learned almost nothing because the instructors never pushed him beyond his comfort zone. He spent most of the class on the steps. After one lesson (10 minutes) with John, my son had already learned more than he had in that entire previous program. By day two, both my 4.5 yo and my 2.5 yo were swimming. Could you eventually get the same results somewhere else? Maybe. But it would likely take months of lessons and end up costing far more than $600. John gets those results in just two weeks. The second concern is the crying. Yes, my daughter cried during the first four days. John didn't panic, back off, or make her feel ashamed. He remained calm, confident, encouraging, and professional while continuing the lesson. There was never a moment where I felt she was being treated harshly. He simply understood something many parents forget: learning difficult things isn't always comfortable. Then something changed and by day five, she was excited to get in the pool. Now that the program is over, both of my kids beg to swim every single day. Instead of fearing the water, they can't wait to practice what they learned. John also makes every second count. Those 10 minutes are nonstop instruction. There's no standing around, no wasted time, and no opportunity for kids to avoid learning. At first I wondered how 10 minutes could possibly be enough. Traveled from NYC to get my 5 year old into swimming. This was his first lesson ever. Yes he cried as the website warns you for the first 2-3 days. By day 4 he didn't want to get out of the pool! He was already doing the breast stroke by week 1 and he did drop drills where he swam to a ledge to get safe. It was hard to get him out of the pool after our last lesson. John and Kimber are amazing. Don't waste time second guessing and just book the sessions! My only regret is that we didn't start sooner. I'll likely bring my son back next year for advanced lessons!

I will say that the pool isn't in the best condition. You can tell there's been a lot of wear and tear. I also don't love that there are open deep gutters along the permitter, making it difficult to get in/out of the pool. Overall, not a bad pool, but not a great pool. I'm personally looking for a more elevated pool experience
