If I could give this negative 5 stars I would! I wanted to schedule a follow up ER visit for my son to get his lungs checked after a bad bout of bronchitis and chronic cough. The earliest appointment available was a month and a half out. The day of the appointment finally arrived so we went to the appointment this morning, which I thought was scheduled for 8:45am. Showed up at the clinic at 8:30am, waited in line to check in only to be told by reception we were in the wrong suite and to go down the hall. We did so and I checked in with another receptionist. He had me fill out a one and a half page form and then proceeded to tell me the doctor was not going to see us because we were late. I said, it was for 8:45? He said no, it was scheduled for 8:30. We were literally only 8 minutes late and no one else was waiting in the waiting room at the time we arrived nor by the time we left. He asked if we could come back later that afternoon instead. How does a doctor go from having no availability for a month and a half to 3 available appointments on the same day? Not only that but the nurse came out to ask me questions about my son's medical history. That is not HIPPA compliant to do that. The audacity of that Medical Deity to say he couldn't see us for being a few minutes late. Meanwhile, whenever we actually can be seen the doctors always take their sweet *ss time to come to the treatment room. Making you wait anywhere between 15-45 minutes. Trying to get a correct and timely referral from this place is also another nightmare. Your literal life hangs in the wait of these doctors and their mistakes. Not recommended and we will not be returning. read more

Just a mess... ask me to show up 20 minutes early but take me in 30 minutes after my appointment. Then have me wait in the room another 30 minutes until the Doctor comes in. That's a 1hr 20 min waste of time before I'm even seen. Don't waste my time. I'm busy too! Dumpster fire is a word I would use to describe the place. I've waited months for answers to tests they have sent me to only to be told they still don't have the diagnosis from the specialists they sent me to. Do yourself a favor and find another. read more

By far the worst experience I've ever had in the medical industry. They have a stupid new phone system that they claim is a virtual assistant. In reality it's just because the owners are cheap and don't want to pay for qualified staff. It's an archaic system that forces you to listen to their stupid message every time you call. There is no way to reach the individual clinic. You have to go through the call center and they are the most incompetent and unprofessional group I've ever dealt with in 40 years. They don't call you back. They mess up all the appointments and insurance. They are rude and inconsiderate. I left them after I couldn't take it anymore. DON'T GO HERE!!! my mother-in-law has been given the run around for 6 months with regard to hip and femur pain. She has been trying to get a referral to an orthopedic. Dr. Bianka Dube does not take the time to listen to her patients. I accompanied my mother-in-law to one of her appointments. Dr. Dube ran out of the room before we were done speaking to her. She said, she had so many more patients and had to be done by 5 o'clock. I asked, the medical assistant, if she could come back to the room so we could finish discussing prescriptions. We also asked her to send x-rays to the orthopedic so we could get an appointment. Her answer to us was , "You can take the X-ray to your appointment". We kindly explain to her that the orthopedic surgeon will not make an appointment unless they have x-rays before appointment. We had to tell her that three times. As of right now I'm still waiting for her to send the x-rays to the orthopedic. This is just one of the many problems we've had with San ysidro Health.. I could go on and on. We will be contacting our lawyer. I hope nobody has to go through what we have gone through. Please don't go here. read more

I have experienced on more than one occasion that the clinics have problems with their phone lines. Today 9/27/18, three of their clinics did not answer their phones. I don't know if this is due to lack of staff or a technical glitch in their system. But it is not how a medical clinic should operate. The other complaint I have is that doctors don't tend to stay. I stuck with them for so long because they are so conveniently located close to home. I had an incident last week with an employee named Mallory and I have tried to speak to a manager for a week now. My name,number and info has been left with Richard & Justin on more than 1 occasion. Melissa is the supervisor I have tried reaching out to (Mallory is the 1 who gave me her name but refused to give me her extension) this place hires employees that lack empathy and compassion. Beware. I went to get a urine drug test for a job that I applied for. The results were never submitted. The place I applied never got a response. I never got a call back. I went back to speak to someone and they said I had to call. All they did was take my money. I said I wanted to speak to a manager and they refused to transfer my call. They just hung up. I called back that same day, the next day, and the day after...no one answered my calls. No one would call back. Please beware, they take your money, pretend to help you, and then they never answer any calls or submit paperwork. I can't believe they're open for business. They should help people and answer calls. I paid and then ended up having to go somewhere else. It totally delayed time for me. They are unreliable. This company, San Ysidro Health, has the worst phone tree and answering service I have ever encountered. No matter what time of day you call you cannot get thru. I have complained about this over and over and they just don't care. If you sign up with them for health care you are in for a long wait. They don't want you to go to the clinic, but if you want to schedule an appointment that's the only way. They finally have a Dr. on staff, but they don't last long because they even don't like the company. So be careful you are not being forced to see a Nurse Practitioner or Dr. Assistant if they have none on staff. Company is taking advantage of low income patients who are forced to use this service. I highly recommend Mountain Health Alpine Family Medicine. My experience at Alpine Family Medicine has been and continues to be excellent. Carol at the front desk is very compassionate, caring and diligent in her efforts to make sure each patient's needs are met with a warm heart. Jesse at the front desk is wonderful, willing to go the extra mile with each patient in making sure every patient is acknowledged and taken care of as well as helpful in making a medical necessary phone calls. Hillary is warm, confidential while always following HIPPA laws. Hillary demonstrates a high level of accuracy in communicating the patient's needs and concerns to Norma Sharpe. Hillary is very approachable in manner with sensitivity of medical matters relayed from the patient to Norma Sharpe. Sonja is kind and outstanding at checking in Norma Sharpe's patients always following HIPPA laws. Sonja is very detailed in taking vital signs as well as demonstrating complete accuracy when taking notes of concern and the reason for the current visit. Norma Sharpe P.A. is an excellent PCP in all ways. Norma Sharpe shows much empathy and concern. Norma Sharpe has excellent listening skills and very thorough in her treatment plans,ordering lab tests as needed, explaining results of testing as well as referring her patients to the appropriate specialists in a timely manner, and following up with another appointment when necessary. Dr. Jennifer Kugel Fritz is compassionate, shows empathy towards her clients, sensitive to her client's needs, attentive always showing superb listening skills while providing effective tools to clients addressing various areas of need. read more

I am a military dependent and dr myself. SAN YSIDRO is the worst health care clinic! They did not put my medication into the system so I was unable to pick it up. When I called they were "out to lunch" , if you go here you will be speaking to a 3rd party call center that sends messages to the clinic you need to contact. Then you have to wait 24-48 hours for someone to contact you. I have pneumonia and I am contagious needing antibiotics, Due to their poor system I cannot get the provider to put in the antibiotics in a timely manner. I would have been better off going to an emergency department. In the immediate past I have also experienced 3-4 month referral delay. read more

Getting better after 2 years. . They now have a MD on site instead of two Physicians Assistants with Dr. Ayres mis-managing your case from 50 miles away in Escondido. Dr. Gorges is excellent. The turn over of the staff is high. Some more competent than others. Some just scary new to medicine. read more

I live up here and they don't have walk in appt?? How are people up here supposed to get health care when the only clinic that covers medical doesn't take walk ins and days to go to Chula Vista? My family has gone to the one in Campo for about a year now, both work with the same personnel, One of the worst health professionals I've ever been to, the people at the front desk or about as unprofessional as you can get, but I guess with the economy booming the way it is we have to hire whoever is available, seems to be what these people have done over the last two or three years. Then you call to make an appt, you tell them why and you get an appt 3 weeks out. Then no call to verify appt time. I wish I could give zero stars. This clinic was assigned to us through tricare. They always screw up our scheduling and the staff does not seem to communicate to each other and when you are there you have to repeat yourself a thousand times as each person asks you the same questions over and over. We had an appt yesterday afternoon at which time "Justin" at the appointment center confirmed myself and our two kids were scheduled and good to go for all the vaccines we needed. Low and behold I show up to the clinic (after taking time off from my job) and was informed that neither of my children were scheduled for that day (despite getting a voicemail confirmation) and they also did not have the vaccines that I was there for! After going back and forth they had to reschedule us for this morning. Our apt was at 8:20 but I arrived 30 min eaerly only to sit in the office for two hours while they dicked us around and again weren't able to provide all of the vaccines we needed and were very unapologetic about their massive mess up. The Alpine clinic will never schedule you with a real physician, only a very sorry PA who does not know what she is doing. All of the staff are completely incompetent and I have wasted so much time here!! If this was not the only tricare assigned clinic near me and we were leaving the states in 6 months I would NEVER return to this pathetic excuse for a clinic! read more

As I wait for my appointment I have had the pleasure of getting to know Dr. Fritz's front office person, Donna Ruehl. She is so kind and compassionate. I lost my insurance and unfortunately had to apply for medi-cal temporarily. I was assigned to this office and so far I am terribly disappointed. Before even getting in for my 1st appointment, I was rescheduled several times and it ultimately took me 3 months to be seen. I arrived early for my appointment, signed in and then sat there, while one receptionist chatted with someone about personal issues and the other, proceeded to help 3 people who came in after me. I finally had to say something, 20 mins later. Its been a week, since my initial "first" visit to establish care and have existing medications refilled. I waited over 2 hours for my appt. Then saw a PA, when I was told initially, I would be seeing a doctor.This PA asked me nothing of my medical history, didn't ask if I had any concerns, Then proceeded to NOT refill existing medications I have been on, prescribed by my neurologist, because I need extensive surgery on my spine and shoulder. I was told "she didn't feel comfortable" refilling them. Instead, I've been left to withdraw from these 2 medications, because I've been left with NONE. I do NOT feel that cutting someone off from any narcotic medication, much less 2, at the same time, is responsible nor healthy! I'm almost certain, THAT is negligence. The medication they did call into my pharmacy was done incorrectly, several times now, over the past week...wrong quantity, wrong instructions. Some, not called in at all. It's been a week, I've spoken to a nurse 3X, left messages with their incompetent staff and had to physically drive to the office and leave a written message for the PA to please call me personally to discuss whats going on...as their phone was busy for over 4 hr's. Still, NO RETURN CALL. I was assured it had been corrected and after making 4 trips to the pharmacy, IT IS STILL, INCORRECT, its the weekend and again, I'm without my medication. If this is the way they typically make a first impression, YOU FAILED!!! I wouldn't recommend them AT ALL. RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN!!!!!! read more

I have been coming to this clinic for a short time. I have seen both the doctor, and the PA. Both are wonderful. I didn't have to stay and explain too much of my medical history because the front office had me fill out forms to go over that already and the provider checked them before they came in the room which was awesome so we could get to the point. I've been to 7 doctors in the last 6 months, and I have finally found somebody who knows what they were doing. They sent my prescription right over to the pharmacy, I didn't have to deal with a wait time. When I walked in the front door the girls were so friendly and professional. I didn't even have to wait! Then when I got my blood drawn, they got it on the first try which is wonderful to me! Somebody knew what they were doing. When I went back in to the room, the PA, Karissa, was so thorough and sweet to me. I have never felt so cared for in my life. She understood what I was saying and was the first out of 7 to actually tell me something that made sense to why I was in so much pain! I am switching my husbands doctor here, and my parents have already made the switch. I would give this clinic 10 stars if I could. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! read more
