The closest parking structure is the one with the famous stork carrying a baby in its vast beak. They do validate your parking so no worries about paying a fee. Plus about a dozen handicapped spaces (on the first floor) are available for those who need it. They let you know if the person you are there to visit is available. The hallways and rooms are clean and not cluttered. This place is well maintained. The rooms are also well cleaned and maintained for the patients. I appreciated that the staff came to check on our friend several times during our visit. Overall, this seems to be a good place to have medical rehabilitation after a major medical incident. Patients seem happy here and they really take care of them, with great results.

I just talked to someone who asked me Qs about it so I hope this might help some more people. Best of luck to you all. Going thru the Sharp Rehab Pain Management program was a total game changer for me because I was highly opposed to getting completely off pain meds myself. At the time that I began working with a pain specialist there I was taking between 6-8 Norco a day for a chronic back problem that was only getting worse with treatments. I worked with a pain specialist who -very gradually-helped taper me down to a lower dosage of medicine. The rate at which my dosage was tapered down is some thing I was able to negotiate with the doctor and she was very receptive to my opposition of getting off of the painkillers completely. I want to say I went down half a pill a month, so it is not something they sprung on me overnight.. I can distinctly recall that this was process still not easy for me, so they were intermittent appointments where I would ask the doctor to go back up on a higher dosage of Norco, to which she (mostly) obliged. I really was not the best patient and I fought with my pain specialist throughout much of my taper off painkillers namely because I didn't see hope without them & I really had no faith that other things would work at all for me, let alone work better than what I was doing. I was not a huge fan that one other thing I was encouraged to try was switching over from Norco to taking SUBOXEN. When I looked into Suboxen I wasn't able to find any information on how it can be used to treat pain. This medication made me feel super dizzy and loopy so I didn't last very long on it. My 2 go-to's to manage pain pretty much boil down to ICE PACKS & HEAT PACKS. I had to become way more aware of what my body was saying to me because I had the bad habit of ignoring my physical symptom's until they were really bad. A huge part of the Sharp program is educational so I say through a required class that talked about ways to manage our stress. This was a real eye-opener for me because it felt very validating because it covered how living with chronic pain is a real thing that Does require our time and attention, if we do want our pain (& quality of life) to improve. I really appreciated that the doctors that work in this program never downplayed the fact that I was in pain even while they were tapering down my medicine. My feelings and physical problems were not ignored or belittled, as one might imagine. In fact, I think that everyone I met with, and worked with, was very kind and understanding. I would never have made it through the program had it been designed any other way than that way... For me, a huge part of dealing with my chronic condition, was an underlying feeling of hopelessness and helplessness that was making me feel marginalized from society, and alienated from most other people, because it was something that I couldn't talk about without some fear of judgement or scrutiny from them. I do wish there would've been more support groups involving other chronic pain patients but -for whatever reason- that wasn't the case.

This is a standard form that must be filled out by the patient's MD or Nurse Practitioner. Not a difficult task. Trying to get the NP to fill out these forms was a joke! They were sent back 3 times due to missing or incomplete information. This also delayed the patient's move into her new place by 3 days- which caused even more confusion for a memory impaired individual, and caused addition costs to the family! Bad Experience! I told her we got two vaccines already and what they were and she proceeded to tell me no he wouldn't have gotten those and he'd receive them at 11-12months which is incorrect and they start as early as 2 months. I proceeded to tell her no we got the two last visit and she said no you got these two, and I said yes those two are what I'm talking about. I then got weary and concerned because she was vaccinating my child, but has NO IDEA what are in vaccines. That's very concerning. To clear up we got the polio and the meningitis already, the IPV and the Hib. She was saying no thoes don't contain those vaccines and are separate and I was like no because I specifically asked and told the dr I saw that thoes are what I want and only those. Call button for assistance wasn't working (and never checked) Lack of communication between the doctors and staff - caused a handful more "falls" that should have happened. More visits to the ER than anyone should have had. Doctors testing orders ignored, even asking over and over. Promises of "checking on my dad every 2 hours" were ignored and not ever implemented. 2 of us were there everyday and still could not get the quality of care and dignity that my dad deserved and needed. We were lied to daily and staffing numbers were under the mandated requirements. I would not put my worst enemy in Ridgeview. Be very vigilant before putting your loved one here.
