I just wanted to share my story with this company, all 3 minutes of my time with them. recently went to sugar bowl ski resort and my wife managed to lock the keys in the car. normal enough right? i have had AAA come out in the past and they were able to stick their stick through the window and unlock it within 5 min. i needed that same service but i never renewed my AAA. i give these guys a call, they quote me $300 to stick a stick down my window and press a button for me. outrageous and rediculous. i have AAA a call and got signed up for about $120 for a whole year, including 4 services a year. they got to me in about 15 min and took them solid 30 seconds to unlock it. save your money and time and sign up for AAA and forget this company exists read more

Placed a call at 9:30 this morning expecting to make an appointment for sometime next week to rekey a couple of doors. To my surprise they had a tech out in less than 45 minutes. This story will be called The Most Expensive Clif Bar Of My Life I made the wise decision to put my mid ski day snack into the same pocket as my car keys at Alpine Meadows the other day. Half of the contents of that pocket made their way to my stomach and the other half now reside below a foot or two of snow after the zipper didn't quite get zipped. At all. Normally this would have ruined my day but I didn't realize my mistake until I got back to my car. After a few choice expletives, I used what little juice was left on my phone to call AAA, expecting to hear that I'd need to have my car towed to Reno or something awful like that. Jacob was there almost exactly one hour later with his magic keys mobile (so fast!). After determining a couple possible ways to get my car open and make a key, he explained all of my options and was able to get a new key made based on some basic info about my car and a picture of my spare key (which was back in SF). Locking car key inside the car is no fun, especially when you are far away from home... My insurance referred me to this lock business. They charged $145 to unlock my car in Squaw Valley Saturday afternoon. The service person arrived 1 hour after I called and finished the job in mins. The service person is Jacob; he is nice and done the work professionally, efficiently and with quality -- no hurting to my car exterior, nor interior. One minor inconvenience is about payment. At the beginning, my insurance (Geico) told me that the business was unable to process insurance stuff at that time and was unable to provide service until the next day. However they are ok to take the request if I pay them directly. So I'll need to submit a reimbursement to the insurance by myself. But well... I do truly appreciate their service in time! read more

Truly one of the best lock smith company employee I have ever encountered!! A family day trip to the mountains turned into panic when I discovered that my vehicle ignition switch died right at the edge vista point at Donner Summit Bridge. Stuck with a toddler on a Sunday evening at 7pm with every car shop closed and the nearest friend to help me was hours away, I called Jacob with Alpine Lock & Key and he arrived right away. With the ignition part being completely broken and late in the evening, Jacob helped our family find a hotel in Truckee to rest while he worked his magic of driving out of state that same evening to get the part for the truck. We drove up to Truckee last weekend, got stuck in a snow storm and incidentally ran into Jacob who was driving up that road. All I can say is that Jacob was a life savior, he gave us multiple rides to and from our house, while we were trying to figure out our car situation. Came up to Truckee late at night to find out I left the key to the roof top cargo box at home. Called Alpine next morning with the key code stamped on the lock. Although he was not sure whether he had a key to match the code he said he can pick the lock. When I arrived, he already had a key cut, and it opened the box. My Nissan Rogue locked me out with the car running as had to move the car away from a snow bank to open the rear hatch in Squaw Valley. Hertz Roadside Assistance failed me as they stated they had someone who would be there in 35 minutes. 5 hours and multiple calls later I was still locked out and I finally had a Hertz representative who found Alpine Lock and Key who said they could come right away. They have 24 hour service! I had Jacob Dunn come out and a short time later I was in my car. Jacob was great and explained Nissan vehicles often lock themselves if you get out and close the door with it running.
