Rented a drum sander and an orbital for doing my deck. Pricing was great, they allowed me to get it the night before, and gave me a bunch of paper -- charging me for what was used. I appreciate not only the cost effectiveness, but their concern for convenience of doing the work and trusting me on reporting the rental hours. Sort of a "we'll do right by you, just please do right by us" attitude that's increasingly rare to find these days. I called Alpine Power Equipment a couple of weeks ago when my Honda 928 stopped running. Dan asked me if I had gas in the machine. I did, or do I thought. He came to my place in Alpine Meadows within a couple of hours, opened the gas tank, and guess what, no gas. He refused to charge me. I called again a couple of days ago, Tuesday. This time one of the tracks wasn't working. Dan said he was slammed but, said he'd be by that day or Wednesday. He came Wednesday, attempted an unsuccessful quick fix in my garage, and ended up loading the blower on his truck. It was returned today, Thursday morning. Quick, reliable, attentive, fair service. I recently dropped my brand new Honda generator off for a manufactures recall. Although I bought the generator from another retailer the shop accepted my set with no questions asked. I needed a replacement engine for my snowblower. The original replacement engine was discontinued, and the direct replacement engine suggested by Briggs and Stratton has the wrong shaft size. I asked Alpine to confirm the engine specs, no return call. I then called to have them check the proper shaft size, again no return call. I had to cancel the order because I don't know if what they are ordering will actually work, the response - "f%$& you." These people have a strange notion of customer service, I just wanted to know if they are ordering the right engine. read more

Took my Honda lawn mower in for much needed tune up and sharpening. Very through job, and results are excellent. Price was less than I expected and that was a bonus. When I phoned to see if it was ready, owner told me that this mower was registered to another person and they had worked on it in 2008. Fortunately, the original owner is my son-in-law, but if not, I believe Alpine would have notified the original owner to see if it was stolen. Excellent follow-up and record-keeping. read more

During the January 2017 series of rain and snow storms our store lost power for 11 days. Craig has sold all but his last generator. In the time I drove to his store to rent it I know that he could have sold it four times over for its' full retail price.
