Took in the motor home for generator inspection because it would fire but not get power inside the unit. Left it at 8:30 as requested. Called to see what time it would be ready around 3pm. He said didn't realize I needed it back the same day although we discussed it on the phone and when I dropped it off. They hadn't looked at it. He called me an hour later saying it was the rotor stater combo. $5200 repair including the 15 hrs of labor. I had to pick it up and take it as I was leaving on a trip. When I got home, I opened the generator up only to find they just threw the parts back in there and never connected it back the way it was. I then had to drive back out there and basically threaten them in order to get them to put the unit back together. They put everything back and still failed to hook up the fuel pump. So two trips, gas money and my time, and now I would never trust their assessment. I had high hopes for these folks because they really touted there service team. Sucks. Update..... as it turns out it was the main ground wire was not hooked back up from when the fuel pump was installed. That was not done by Holley. Hooked it up and she fired up and created power. Having said they, Holley should have been able to trouble shoot that in an hour or less and it most certainly still was not the $5200 repair that they diagnosed. To the owner, and young gentlemen that helped, very kind and attentive. Thank you. Most business owners are. BUT the front desk guy was not helpful and insinuated that I did that to the generator. I was lied to to get money out of me. Bought $150 fuel pump for my RV generator, they assured me that I can get a refund for returning it as long as I didn't try to put it in. When I called them on the phone back later they said "We don't do refunds because we wouldn't be able to tell if you put it in your generator" so now I'm stuck with a part I didn't need. Also before this I called to see if I can get my gen serviced, they offered an appointment in 2 weeks. I didn't plan to be in town then so I had to think about it. I called the next day to try to get that appointment and they said next available is 1 month. I'm like wow ok. Again I made arrangements, and called the next day and they said 1.5 months. They take advantage of the fact they are one of the only RV generator repair businesses in Sacramento. You most likely will have a poor experience here. Don't support them. read more

We have used Holley since 2015 for our mobile grooming van generators. They've always gotten us in, albeit last minute sometimes when we have an emergency. They understand we're losing our business and money to have our vans out multiple days so they make sure to get us in and out as soon as they can. Unfortunately it didnt last. Called with an outlet issue-brought it in. "Cracked intake manifold" $900 fix. Paid it. They "fixed" the issue...right? Wrong! 24hrs after getting it home...same outlet issue. I called and left a msg since it was after closing time...called a second time a week later since no one called me back. Here we are 4 months later...issue still comes and goes. They have nickle and dimed me for the last time. I no longer trust them. I do not promote them. I try to deter people than refer people. They took advantage of me way too many times. Typical assholes. Interesting how no one not even John called me back. Im a small 1 person business and I couldnt leave their without them "finding" a new issue. I cannot recommend this place enough! I have been using Holley for almost 5 years now, and have always come to them with any maintenance problems with my generator. I am on mobile groomer in the Elk Grove area and pretty much any problem, could happen at the drop of a dime, but Holley always gets me in quickly and I'm out with an a day or two, if not sooner. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I'm not very good with any of the maintenance aspect or understanding a lot of the mechanics however, the staff has never made me feel pressured to do any unnecessary maintenance, and always checks in prior to starting on something; which is not always the case at other auto repair shops. If you're looking for reliability, consistency, fair prices.. stick with Holley you won't be disappointed. Shout out to Holley Generator in Rancho Cordova ca. Our generator would t stay running so too it to them plus to be serviced as had no idea when the last owners did it. We supposedly had the coolant changed at delta truck center in Lathrop but it turns out the tech there only filled the overflow reservoir with coolant thus it would t run. Brought my Yamaha Inverter in after searching around for a better quote and option than Roseville Yamaha, who quoted $165 for a basic service and then said my carburetor needed to be rebuilt too, which was another $220, totaling more than $360! Holley said they would only repair and service what was needed after they had the generator apart. They found no need to rebuild the carburetor, cleaned it out, reassembled and completed the entire service for $105! Nothing needed to be rebuilt at all, and my Inverter never sounded better! Generators and Inverters are all that Holley does, they have it down pat! Camping World sends all their work to Holley Generator and after my 1st experience, I can see why. We recently had Holley Generator work on our Onan RV generator for our Rialta RV. Wow. We had already put out close to $500 in our rural foothill community at two local RV repair shops to try to get the generator running properly . Big mistake. It was surging. Holley cleaned and adjusted our generator and had it out the door for $191. Now it runs fine. They didn't have to remove the generator. It was well worth driving to the Sacramento area. This place is awesome! Everyone there is extremely knowledgeable and professional! I took my motor home in there a few months ago because the generator would not start. The technician found the problem to be the wires where the power cord plugs into the RV were fried! He re-wired it for me and it was running again within an hour. One hour of labor was all it cost. After going out in the coach a few weeks later, the generator was running great but then, on our last day out, it wouldn't start again. I took it back and this time the technician found the starter in the generator was stuck. He freed it and the generator started and ran but he didn't stop there, he went the extra step and found the reason it got stuck in the first place. He found the water level in the batteries was too high causing acid to spill over and that corroded the battery cable. He removed the excess fluid in the batteries and replaced the cable lug. Again, one hour of labor and $4.95 for the cable lug. They could have totally taken advantage of me, I know nothing about RV generators but they are truly honest and care about their customers. I highly recommend them! read more

I called Holley Generator to see if they could take a good look at a generator I purchased used. I spoke to John. I asked him if they could do a "Complete" service and test the generator to make sure it will function properly. I told him that the alternator did not seem to be putting out properly and that the hour meter and amp meter were in need of replacement. He said no problem. I explained to John that this generator is going to be used at my remote cabin as primary power and it's very important that anything that it needs be addressed. I also asked him if I was to drop it off on Tuesday, could it be done by the following Tuesday. He said no problem. I was very clear about the fact that it was going to a remote cabin in the mountains outside of Tehachapi in Southern California, a 6 hour drive away and I would be picking it up and taking it directly there. He reassured me that it would be taken care of. I had not heard from them by the following Monday, the day before I was to pick it up, so I called Monday morning and left a message for John to call me. I received a call from a technician letting me know that It seems the the alternator was not putting out properly and that I might have to replace it. I told him that that was on the work order and it was to have been addressed. I asked if the gauges had been replaced? He did not know anything about that. I told him the situation and it is being picked up in the morning. He said that they would get it handled. I received a call a couple hours later from John saying that he did not know how this has fallen through the cracks, but it would be ready in the morning. When I got there the technician was still working on it and said that they were not able to get an alternator but they have the capabilities to rebuild it if I wanted that to be done. Also he said that they could not find a proper hour meter but got a little digital one and put it in, leaving a large void in the instrument panel where the original one was. Also said that the amp meter would have to be ordered if I wanted that replaced. They had a whole week to take care of this and all I can figure is they did not even look at it until that Monday morning the day before I was to pick it up. They totally let me down on all aspects of the work I asked to be done. I feel that I paid $452.00 for a quick test of the generator and an oil change. I would expect a "complete service would be just that: oil and filter change, fuel filter change (not done), cooling system checked and fluid changed (not done), alternator was removed by me when I got to the cabin and brought back to Sacramento to be rebuilt (not by them). When I paid my bill, all John said was sorry man, that will be $452. I just about had a heart attack I was so pissed off. I had no choose but to pick it up and deal with their incompetence on my own. By the way I was able to pick up a proper hour and amp meter at the local auto parts store. I would not use them to repair "ANYTHING" as they simply don't care. read more

I took a customers alternator to them to be rebuilt. Got it back the next week and installed in the car. The alternator didn't function. I took it back out at brought it back to have them fix it. They not only refused to fix it under warranty, they told me that it was an issue with the alternator and not their fault... I thought thats why I brought it in for repair??? I ended up rebuilding it MYSELF and found that they not only installed a bad voltage regulator, the brushes hadn't been replaced either. I used to refer at least 5 people a month to them, but after the service I personally received from them, I not only stopped referring people to them, but I also make sure to tell people NOT to go to them. read more

WOW,Thats all I can say ! I had by class C motorhome at a local RV dealer for starting issues with the Generac gen in the RV.The dealer said I needed a new carb,so i had them install a new carb(the gen only had 38hrs on it)to the tune of $456.00 .A week later the Gen would not start again,so I took it back to the dealer,I was then told it needed to be replaced that the generator was "frozen" up !!!!! I was quoted $4500.00 plus install for a new generator...thats when I said NO....I will get a 2nd opinion...I took the RV to HOLLEY Generator and was greeted at the front desk by John...I explained the situation and John said allow me 1 hour labor to diagnose the issue.....a few days later I recieved a call from the shop saying the starter was bad and needed to be rebuilt or replaced.....I said lets do it.....the next week I called to see how things were going and John said shes all done and you can pick her up. The total bill came to less then $410.00 !!!!! and it was bench tested as well as run under load in the RV with no other issues !! THANK YOU HOLLEY GENERATOR !!!! You save the day not to mention a lot of dollars.!!! This shop is FAIR,HONEST,and seems to have some work ethic,something that we dont see to much in this day and age. Without hesitation I would HIGHLY recommend this shop and have told all my RV'ing friends,about this business also..... Made 7:30am appointment for service on onan Cummins air- filter cap repair and oil change , ended up paying a $130.00 for one hr service fee. For them to give me an estimate for $941.00 to do a head-gasket and valves job. When my generator was RUNNING before i bought it to them, not once did they ever call me between 7:45am and 4:00pm. I decided to call them at noon and was told nothing, called back at 3:30pm and was given the shocking news that it wouldn't START ! And a shocking estimate of $941.00 for repairs. Not ounce did i give them permission to go any further then an oil change and air filter cap tack weld. Oil change was never done so basically i paid $130.00 for a air filter cap tack weld on a generator that is NOW NOT RUNNING NOW NOT RUNNING. But i got lucky and bought one on eBay same model # Refurbish for $900.00 with a 180day warranty. I will take my old one to Cummins in west Sacramento for repairs and then sale it on eBay to recuperate some of my money. Now that i know there are over $3000.00 and up new, i truly believe they knew that from the very start.
