Just attended their family camp! And it was A weekend for memory lane and sweet dreams! These kids have SO many highlights! From zipline to night hike to game night to the magician, to getting "fifth place" in the pie eating contest, to endless sweets, a cozy cabin with a "top bunk" for each kid, biking with cousins, staying up late etc!! It's beautiful and cozy and everything you'd want from a family camp. The cabins have basic bunks with no bedding but clean and pretty cozy looking from The outside. The standout staff were Tony the cook, Barbara who was everywhere Micah the host, Jay who also hosted, Josie and Ellie and several other staff I'm not sure their names oh and Christy who communicated with me through to try get us registered and comfortable once we had arrived! So thankful for this Christ centered experience! read more

Alpine Camp and Conference Center should be vastly ashamed of themselves for not issuing a full refund to the 8th grade students at Raney Intermediate School IB and STEM students who signed up, paid, and were unable to attend the Science Camp that was scheduled because of the outbreak of Covid-19. They have instead chose to keep 20% and refund only the rest. I find this reprehensible considering the circumstances. No one chose not to go, it is that no one could go and it was canceled. I am disappointed in the greed, though not wholly surprised. I will always pass on this establishment if a trip is offered again, as I am disgusted that not only could my daughter not attend the camp that she was so eager to participate, but we only are receiving a percentage of what we paid to attend. read more

Here's the review from my 9 year old son: When I was at the Alpine camp, I was looking forward to doing the fun stuff. My favorite was the chapel. I learned about God. Also the free time was so much fun! When the Branch was open for free time, I would go there. It was really fun just buying stuff! On my last day, I was really sad to leave Alpine. read more

Affordable, but Bed Bugs everywhere. Took couple of my students to this center for a retreat, and by the second night we had bed bug bites everywhere. We asked if we can be moved, but because they were overbooked, we couldn't. So... we slept in the main chapel, but in the morning they complained that we couldn't do that. So asked what should we do, and they said they will place our clothes in the dryer....and clean our room. But all they did was spray some kind of white chemical on the beds and left. We could literally see bed bugs moving around....We were pissed..! What was worst... was that.. when i asked other pastors who used this site, they said they did the same thing to them. When we asked them (retreat center) for an reimbursement or something for the trouble. They claim we brought in the bed bugs and blamed us. Don't use this site. read more

I def had a great time here at this place! We came up here with a group of about 60 people and had a 3 day 2 night retreat with the church and this place was quite easy to find (well, with the help of GPS, heh). The cabins were all very close to the chapel and kitchen/dining area so it was very easy walking to both. The environment is just so nice and since its autumn, the smell was great! They had cool activities here such as ping-pong, tree climbing, paintball, etc. Food was great and the servings were huge enough to serve a big group over and over again, so I had seconds and even thirds during my meals :P Def a fun and great place to come and get away from it all and be in communion with the Lord! read more

Start with 45 middle schoolers and an 9 car caravan, add in a 2 hour drive up the 215 and through some treacherously windy mountain roads and whattya get? A weekend retreat at Alpine! My church's middle school ministry spent this year's retreat at Alpine, located in some town called Blue Jay. I'd never even heard of Blue Jay. Boonies? For shizzle. Tmo and AT&T customers get ZERO reception of any kind at this place. Just a quick FYI. Anyway, the grounds are spacious (there was snow here and there!), the facilities clean (though they could do a little more in terms of decor), and the food was PLENTIFUL. Breakfast of bacon = breakfast of champions. There was a free-flowing cereal bar, tons of salad options, great bagel/toast options, etc. As you can tell, I tend to judge a place by its food offerings. I think I spent most of my free time in the cafeteria. The bathrooms, to be honest, are a little scary at night, and the shower facilities are... well... sorta like high school gym. But hey, you're not planning for luxury and comfort when you're off on a mountain retreat, right? The staff had some amazing activities lined up for our kids, and it was great to see how encouraging and supportive they were. The kids got to climb mammoth trees, do ropes courses, participate in team-building activities, and have plenty of free time to just roam the property. All in all, the place was great, the staff was great, the food was great, and the kids all had a fantastic time. read more

I attended Alpine's Women's Retreat, on weekend of 10/17/15. I had such a fun time: I worked out with Tierney, got a massage, sat by the cozy fire to knit and chat. It was so relaxing! I heard they had a problem with bed bugs this past summer, but that they took care of it by tenting the buildings. So, I went and it must have worked because I didn't experience any of that. Oh! I have to mention the food! I've been to lots of camps and this was amazing - they really took care of us. I can't wait to go back in 2015! read more

What an awesome place to encounter Jesus. The facility is geared to truly have a mountain top experience. The food was a higher quality and way better taste than the expectation I had of camp food. The staff is so friendly and helpful! The programs that the Alpine team puts together is top notch. You know that the curriculum is bathed in prayer, biblically sound, and forged with a heart focused on God's love to His glory and focused on seeing kid's lives changed by God's grace. Our lodges were comfy and heated to perfection as we dipped on hot coco and watched the snow fall. As you step foot on property you can feel the presence of God. I had the best time at Alpine Camp with a church group retreat that I went on. There was plenty to do and the campgrounds are lush and beautiful. The cabins are nicely arranged. Love the chapel with all the windows. It's a peaceful setting that I plan on going back to. read more

I just took two separate groups up to Alpine. In all transparency the first week was rough due to bed bugs and working out kinks in programming. The first night I noticed I had bed bugs in my bed. I notified the staff first thing in the morning. They responded by taking all bedding and clothing I desired to be dried (which kills the bed bugs) and sprayed. I was able to return to the room four hours later which ended being the mid-afternoon. I did not notice anymore bed bugs after this. The second week we came up and the camp was pro-active of informing counselors what they had been doing and what they are planning on doing to eradicate the problem. My group did not have any issues with bed bugs this week. Also, they had made great improvements to the program. Both weeks my students had a very good time and most importantly God moved in big ways. I could see that the camp took my criticisms, critiques, and advice and implemented what they could. I have been going to Alpine for over 8 years as well as other camps for our Youth Ministry. Alpine has always been the most engaged and pro-active in taking care of my group and addressing any issues. (this is why I gave them 5 stars) Give Alpine a call, ask about their goals for your students, and go take a tour...they do amazing ministry and camping. read more

Recently I attended the Women's Weekend retreat with several of my friends.... we had a wonderful experience! The food was delicious, the staff was so friendly and helpful, and there were so many choices of activities for us. The conference center is very clean and well maintained too, and nestled amongst so many beautiful trees! I came away from the retreat refreshed and renewed. And I am already looking forward to next year! read more

We've been bringing our sixth graders to Alpine's Outdoor Education camp for over ten years. From folk dancing to nature hikes, to festive meal times and inspirational chapels, Alpine does it better than any other camp in this area. The trip is always the highlight of the kids' whole sixth grade year! Our students come to camp feeling a bit nervous and unsure what to expect, and they leave confident in the three Cs, more trusting of each other as a team, and closer to Jesus than they've ever been. Watching their camp transformations has been so moving for us, their teachers. And it's a nice vacation for us too! Alpine leaders take care of everything and lead the kids in a professional, yet super engaging way. Michael and his team are fast in responding, great in organization and very easy to work with. They bless us countless times when we're on their campus! Took a trip down memory lane checking out this facility. Spent several summers during the 1960s at high school retreats. Also summer of '64 was part of voluntary staff, busing tables, washing dishes and other grounds work in exchange for Room & Board + $5 per week. Lost all contact with fellow staffers and friends. I can't remember the family who ran it back then but I do remember a family named Yoder who was part of management staff. Many fond memories all frozen in time over 50 years ago. I'm glad it's still around providing a venue for new generations of young people to create their own life long memories. read more

I have been to this campground for over ten years. I was camper here when I was in high school and I have been a counselor and a leader throughout and after my college years. It is a wonderful environment and atmosphere. The campground itself has seen many upgrades over the last ten years and the staff are great. I think the hardest part is when you leave to go for a hike and then remember you have to pee. hahaha This campground has been a big part of many positive and inspiring memories for me, my teammates and my kids. read more

I was asked by the Alpine staff to amend my Yelp review via my pastor. My husband's trip to urgent care did not take care of the problem completely. So the following week, he had to see his GP who gave him another prescription. The total cost of 2 co-pays and 2 prescriptions was over $100. Alpine did step up. They sent an apology note and refunded the cost of his registration. It was an unfortunate situation, but they handled the problem satisfactorily. read more

My children have been going up to Alpine Camp with their school for six years. This is the most incredible camp. The counselors are amazing and their activities are engaging. They teach the children about trusting each other, themselves, and God. The kids get to zip line, climb a 100 foot tree, ropes courses, trust falls, drama, games, hiking, campfires and learning about nature. They push themselves to the limit, and discover qualities in themselves they never knew they had. I highly recommend this camp for any youth groups, school groups, or any clubs that want a chance to get away and enjoy a breath of fresh air. read more

They did have a problem with bedbugs in one of the cabins and they stared us away from that area until they got it fixed. My 13-year-old daughter just returned from church camp here. She said the Higher Ground Challenge course was either closed or they weren't allowed to do it even though the leaders had us parents sign waivers. The camp store was closed the entire time. So no snacks or drinks. I can't see a recreation building on site. The kids played BB, soccer, volleyball and swimming. She said the food was just okay. Overall, not the fun time she was looking forward to. read more

I realized that I never went back and updated my review. I did go back to Alpine since my original post. The camp has eliminated all traces of bed bugs and has not had any re-occurrence since. I asked them about the issue and they were forthright in their communication about it . They expressed the struggle they had with bed bugs but they were really happy to report that they no longer had any problems. I would recommend giving the camp a try. read more

We switched from another camp this year to Alpine and it was the best decision we could have made. Our entire group kept commenting on how much better this year was thanks to an amazing staff, great facilities, and awesome food. The staff were all extremely patient and very friendly. I was very impressed with this camp ground. Ive been to several in the past and they had a very good group of people working there to help make the experience better. There were nearly 300 of our agents there who had a chance to experience many of the amenities and walked away with a great experience as well. I give the camp three stars but only because it does have an issue with bedbugs. Not a huge attack on my son but enough to have to take him to the doctor. And please, don't insult our intelligence by claiming "we must have brought it". As a camp you can deal with this by using the same powders you recommended another post on the bunks or pass the buck on others. And just to make sure we understand each other, I live local and know all the same people the camp does. And the phone number to the county health department. Deal with this issue... read more

My children have been attending Alpine since middle school. All three of them love it so much they attended on their own outside of the yearly school trip. They always come home with a spiritual lift and can't wait until the next time. However, last summer when my youngest attended the summer session with his friends, all 5 of them came home with bed bugs. The facility was not quite aware for there was only a case or two prior and they treated it and was given clearance by the pest control company. In our case our boys got it real bad and the frustration remained in not knowing how to treat, care and prevent form them coming home. In speaking with the facilities director he explained how they do things and did everything to work with me and became a team as the consumer who was afraid to come back. Alpine with their persistent and evasive methods of pest control took many measures to get it under control and communicate with myself and those affected by the bugs. I was informed as the open communication continued until they took the strongest measures possible and expense and got rid of the problem and have been bug free for many months to date. They did everything to restore my and the groups faith to continue our wonderful journeys with Alpine. I have learned this is an epidemic everywhere and appreciate how much effort, care and concern, especially (Nathan ) took to communicate and restore our faith. All camps and hotels deal with this and Alpine has takes different steps to ensure the safety of the children and campers and communicate with the campers. My daughter had an outdoor school outing here for several days and she loved it! So as a parent, I have to give them a 5 start rating for making her so happy. She wants to come back in the Summer and try out one of their Summer Camp programs. I liked the camp because it is fairly close to our home in the Inland Empire. The staff was enthusiastic, caring and you could tell they enjoyed their jobs. The facility was as clean as one can expect from being a camp in the woods and they have a lot of great activities that the kids enjoyed tremendously. Activities like zip lines, ropes courses in the trees, archery and tomahawk throwing. I thought the food was pretty decent too. It's not for foodies but again you have to keep in mind that they are cooking cafeteria style. I would like to say to the Alpine Camp Staff again "Thank you for making my daughter so happy and providing her with a wonderful experience." read more

I love the mornings here and the food is usually good but the last time i went, i was disappointed. it's a decent retreat ground but the problem i have is the drive up there, it makes it super inconvenient. it's clean, cozy, but there are not a lot of rooms you can use as a gathering for a medium sized group of 10 people. you have to resort to using the cabins and that's uncomfortable. minor inconveniences but enough to not give it 4/5 read more

I've been to Alpine 4 times. My fifth time this Friday. I absolutely LOVE Alpine. The drive up there can be a pain, but it's all worth it. They're very clean and they have plenty of food :D The people there are beyond nice and helpful. The cabins are well, cabins. Nothing fancy or special. However, I would recommend bringing bed sheets to put over the mattresses. My only complaint is probably the bathrooms. They're a bit scary and not the best. They're not dirty or anything, just could be better. But again, this isn't a hotel. Anyway, I love this place. I love the wonderful environment and the people there. I was recently at Alpine with a group of ladies from my church. Alpine is an awesome place for anyone seeking a facility for large or small groups. The food was excellent, and the staff was very courteous and helpful. At lunch we had fresh grilled chicken breast with ciabatta bread and all the fixin's to make sandwiches along with fresh cut fries. They offered a slightly spicy mayo sauce that really paired well with the chicken. Also offered was a full fresh salad bar! Amazing food, can't wait to go back. The branch gift store/coffee shop was like going to your favorite coffee shop, the blended coffee drinks were incredible!!! My friends all loved their coffee lattes and specialty drinks. There was a very relaxing patio area with comfortable swivel chairs and LED lit bar counter top that added to the ambience, not to mention the calming mountainside scenery! We did hear that they spared no expense to professionally fumigate for bedbug control. We saw no sign of bedbugs! This is a camp that cares and excels when it comes to taking care of their quests.
