There is electricity available inside and the bathrooms have 2 stalls and a shower. There is also a large cabinet to store small items. I was also concerned about the food because of prior reviews (burned hamburgers and cold cuts). It was 100% not true! Both mornings we had hot eggs and potatoes. One morning included sausage. There was a nice assortment of yogurt, fresh fruit and oatmeal with lots of extra toppings, along with nice pastries. Lunches were also quite nice and included hot entrees, salad and goodies. Dinners were hot meats, baked potatoes with lots of toppings to choose and cooked vegetables. I was more than satisfied with the amount and quality of the food. Even though our party arrived a little late on the first night, there was parking available near our cabin. Lots of varied activities were also available for all ages and abilities. Our group is looking forward to going again.

You just find a spot... you'll find out pretty soon that people come riding motorcycles dirt bikes and ATV`s through the road at all times except at night late night other than that it's close to the lake and if you have a fishing license you can fish and plenty of places to shop and eat and a couple of bars if you want to get a drink. No campfires allowed which was a big disappointment but we made do with a propane gas grill. If you don't mind roughing out all that, it's a nice place to set up a tent for the night. Make sure to bring toilet paper trash bags no toilet and bug spray plenty of bugs if you get my drift bugs in your ears no water or running water I should say so baby wipes and plenty of baby wipes. Before I end this review just a little heads up if you've ever been on a scavenger hunt beware it's very secretive and you'll get text messages to find a spot and if you're still confused as we were the host that you book the site with may or may not drive down to meet you and help you out as to where you set up your tent. it's a free-for-all first come first serve place you tent wherever you find a little flat area which isn't very many. Lots of rocks and not very flat right along the dirt road where people come and go riding there vehicle's

Very peaceful and relaxing area of the mountains…read more First time visitors as we are here with a group of 18 family and friends. It is a well kept area, clean and quiet dispute all the critters walking around our tent last night including two hollowing ??? About fifty feet away. This is nature after all. Not a big deal to some but for someone that has not camped in over 30 years, I was wide awake most of the night and now, I need a short nap to recharge. Fully recharged after my nap and I am ready to enjoy the this outing once again. We visited this camp ground with a group of eighteen in all and we had a BLAST! We had camp sites 5, 6, 7 and 8. We all had 6-person tents yet had enough room for twenty-tents as our areas combined were HUGE! We played games, bonfires, ate together, used cots, went hiking, visited a public playground less than one mile away and used a zip line, played volleyball and had a picturesque view of Lake Arrowhead. There is also a hospital w/ emergency services directly in front of our camp ground entrance if such services were ever needed. I can definitely see us returning in the near future but for now, the memories we created will stay with us forever.

Hello, the campground was full this weekend. On Thurs I got…read morea wild hair and checked for reservations and coincidentally I got one night only at the best site #19. Incidentally, when we arrived to check-in, we were greated by a delightful Dennis! He was a wealth of knowledge. He rakes each site before the next person comes. Aside from making it clean for the next person...he picks up all tiny trash and food bits we toss around and dont make it into the fire pit. He cleans all of this up which prevents "visitors" while were sleeping. Yes, visitors. Were in nature but it belongs to squirrels, mice, snakes, bears, coyotes and mountain lions. So we took note and did a full look for any bits we left behind so Dennis could just rake and not worry about out food and trash. He's a great guy and youll hear his cart going around checking on things. He is actually security, housekeeping, front desk, greeter, janitor, grounds keeper, friendly neighbor, game warden for the little camp ground, so be respectful bc he lives where he works. If you hate the thought of snakes and bears, stay some place like a city KOA. This area is lush with trees and full of dry brush...(snakes like the brush!) Also bugs werent an issue whatso ever!....we sprayed ourselves with OFF and were fine. Kept tent zipped up in case of critters. We did not see any snakes or bears. Upon departure we saw a coyote in the morning near the entrance doing his own thing. Upon arrival check in with the Delightful Dennis, your camp host. Follow his directions to a T and youll be fine. I keep a bear bell, air horn and utility knife for protection in my tent. No swimming or showers at camp ground... Swim at Lake Gregory!!!- Arrowhead is a no swim lake.

Green Valley has (small - around 3 feet high) falls and cool water to soak in. It is south of the main campground and the public can park there (I think there is a parking fee to get into the campground?) and 10 minute walk down to the falls. Really peaceful, and the amenities (showers/bathrooms) have been greatly improved over the years. It barely feels like 'roughing it'! My onlycomplaint, and it was a BIG one is the flying BUGS were buzzing/bombing me he entire trip! Some people's blood (MINE) is supposed to attract them more than others. Because I noticed other campers were NOT impacted. Bring a skeeter hair net or repellent. I went in September , Space 41. Oh! and wild turkeys came right up to my camp space! Cool.

Ground is dirt and bit not leveled well so do be wise to where you want to place your tent. As I reread my previous review I realized that I had only seen a portion of the lake. In reality, the lake is huge. It extends towards 173 and allows for fishing and boating. A great way to spend time outdoors. I believe they sell California fishing licenses, fishing and boating supplies, and even boat rentals! There are separate parking lots for docking/boating and regular day parking. There are bathroom building facilities available. There are numerous trails, including part of Section C of the PCT runs through the Silverwood Lake SRA. There are many camping spaces and group camping available as well. In the times when I've camped here the ranger station has always been kind and knowledgeable, answering my many questions. I've only been to the marina store once or twice, but the staff was friendly and accommodating. I went to the Silverwood Lake SRA office for the first time recently and parked there while hiking part of the PCT. The lady there was very nice and helped me find my way. The peace officers are very nice and knowledgeable. I recently did some exploring and got lost. LOL. Shout Out to Officer Bakke for going above and beyond and helping me find the PCT on my birthday. That was the best birthday present. Thank you to the helpful men and women at California State Parks for keeping us safe. I would definitely recommend this park for hiking, camping, or boating. It's not safe to drink the water due to algae bloom. I wouldn't fish here either, but some people do it. No swimming during algae bloom as it can cause illness. Hiking: Depending on the trail you may or may not have shade, stay hydrated. Camping: Some campers like to play their music loud. So unfortunately, there's that. So glad this park is here in the area.
