I called ahead of time to make an appointment and was told to bring it in at 8 AM on Friday morning, which I did. I got there a few minutes early and got in line with the other folks that were waiting. When they opened, I went in and chatted with them, told them the issues and gave them my contact information. They called me later in the afternoon and told me that I was having some hybrid electrical issues that would need to be addressed with the dealership. They were friendly, helpful, timely, and did not charge me to look at the vehicle. I appreciate that they directed me to the dealership when they felt that it was out of their purview. My car was there for seven days in which Shawn never charged me for. Two days after getting my car back, it started messing up again. AMAZING experience here. As a small woman, I am always anxious going to mechanics on my own as I am not knowledgeable on pricing, parts, or cars in general. This place has always been conveniently located near me so I took it in when I heard a screeching sound from my car (brake problem). They quickly took my car in (I dropped off to pick up the next day) and they called periodically to give me updates, ask questions about what I was hearing and where, etc. It was easy conversation, and never felt condescending or disrespected. I was told what the total would be before they would begin work and they do what they can to give you a good deal, and try not to add on or do unnecessary work that may cost you a fortune. I think they are a great neighborhood staple, especially working with you on price and budget based on the demographics of our area. I had to get some pretty extensive work done on my front end and had taken my car to 3 shops before visiting Good Year and no one could seem to fix it or if they did it was only fixed for a couple of days... I've taken two cars to Al's auto for state inspections and minor work (replacing tail lights). On both occasions, Al's mechanics were able to perform the inspection immediately or within 30 minutes which I appreciated. However, in my experience they don't pick up their phone. I called a number of times trying to make an appointment but no one ever picked up. I ended up driving over and they could take my car on the spot so it wasn't a big deal. Additionally, they've never asked for any of my personal information: name, phone number, address which strikes me as odd, but I guess they don't need it. They were very helpful and patient with listening to my concerns, and did not feel as if I was wasting their time. My husband and I have been taking our car/truck here for years now. Even though the guy who runs it has changed, they are still the most honest mechanics ever. I have always received prices that are basically at cost and the customer service is unreal. It's not the kind of customer service where they are super sweet and outgoing, which would be a little weird at a repair shop, but they have always taken care of me and stood by their work/products. I have gone here multiple times alone to get my car checked out and being a younger girl usually that means I will be taken advantage of or at least try to talk me into something I probably don't need.
