I took my car here for an alternator replacement. After picking it up, I drove it home and the car…read morenever started again. I had to pay to tow it back to the shop, where they kept it for over a month and ultimately told me they could not find the problem. I then had the vehicle towed to a second garage. Their diagnosis was that the vehicle's electrical system had been severely damaged, almost like it had been hit by lightning. They stated the alternator had not been properly grounded during installation, which allegedly caused major damage to the vehicle's computer systems while I drove it home after the repair. I ended up spending thousands of dollars in additional repairs, including dealership-installed computer modules and electrical work. Even after all of that, the car was never the same again. I bought this vehicle brand new and have been the only owner since it had 0 miles. Prior to this repair, I never had any major electrical issues. Very disappointing experience and extremely costly.

I ask when they could do it they said tomorrow morning. I took it in the next day. They called later that day and said the parts didn't come in. It ended up being three days. The bill was $600.00 When I picked it up I was very busy with family matters and didn't check the emergency brake. To my surprise about a week later when I tried it it didn't work. I called and told them about it on a Thursday they said bring it in next Tuesday at 7:00am. I asked about it getting done that day. They said no way earliest would be Thursday. I asked to talk to Chuck. He said sorry they have people already scheduled and they would get to it when they could. I said all it needs is the emergency brake shoes adjustment. He said no its more than that. I asked was it adjusted when installed he said he didn't know. I asked who repaired it? He again said he didn't know. I left didn't have much faith in the facility Not going to bad mouth anyone there just state my experience. Today I adjusted the shoes and the emergency brake works now. Remember this when you use Chucks Car Care.

BG Automotive is my go to for everything from oil changes, brakes to timing belt or complete motor…read moreswap. They just get it done right and stand behind their work. Bryan is honest and dependable, he gives an accurate diagnoses and will even prioritize what repairs are more urgent if you need multiple and plan with you the course of action that works for you. Prices are very fair and usually lower than the avg in the area for sure. I recommend highly

Called a few places that the center recommended and they either didn't pick up or weren't able to help. Looked up on my own and found BG and spoke with Brian. He was beyond helpful, was able to able to get us in quickly and we were in and out within 45 minutes. He even went above and beyond, as while we were talking to him found we mentioned going to the vacuum to get out our few pets hairs left. He brought out his shop-vac and extension cord and allowed us to vacuum while he took off enough gas to get us below 1/4 tank. Edit: We were 'acceptable' except our tow hitch that is no where stated in any paperwork cannot be there. It was rusted on. We called BG back and asked if he was able to cut it off. Told us to come right back and would be more then happy to help. He had it off in no time.

I've been using Buzz's for years and wouldn't take my vehicles anywhere else! I've even gotten…read moreeveryone in my family to use them. Their customer service is on point, you will always pay what is quoted or below, and yes, they always call before doing a service, after diagnosing your car to make sure it's something you can afford, and if it's not, they might even give a Band-Aid option if there is a Band-Aid option to give. I've worked with every mechanic throughout the years, with different cars when my main mechanic. (Jeff, who deserves an awesome review of his own) is unable to get my car or one of my kids cars in and I need it fixed ASAP and have yet to have a single bad experience in the 14 years I have been using them. They are very decently priced, (except on oil changes, because with their expertise, you're gonna be paying a little bit more than Valvoline, that's just how mechanic shops work though), and don't try to sell you more than what you need. They get your car in, they diagnose your issue and they fix it after you consent to having it fixed. They're so great that they don't even have to advertise, because word of mouth and their reputation in Collinsville speaks for itself. Sometimes you might have to wait a week or two to be able to get your car in, because they are that good, but once they get your car in, you will have it back within a day or two (and that's only cause they have to wait for parts). You are their number one customer when your turn comes up and they are worth the wait if you can hold out. I think the longest I've ever had to wait though was a week and a half to get a car in, and in emergent situations, (like when my dad's truck died and he had the only working vehicle for himself and my 93-year-old grandmother to get around in), they fit you in same day/next day, in between other appointments,, to make sure you have a working vehicle. Now that just might be because they knew my father by then and knew his situation, but that's also what you get with a small town auto shop is familiarity. I have multiple cars, so I'm willing to wait a few weeks for them to fit me in and wait for Jeff since he knows my personal vehicle the best as he's the one who's worked on it since the day I bought it. Admittedly, I am probably one of the reasons why it takes a week or two to get your car in, because I am the person people turn to when looking for a service because they know I've vetted the area and have already picked out the best of the best, so when I get asked about auto repair, I send them to Buzz's, so I probably shot myself in the foot with getting my car in within a few days, like it was when I first moved here a decade and a half ago, lol. But I promise you, they are worth it. Trust them, because out of all the places I've lived (used to be military family), and all the mechanics I've had to use throughout my 30+ years of car ownership, they are the one place I would say I trust completely. I'd also like to point out that I am a very tiny, dainty female, who looks like she would be taking advantage of at a mechanic shop, but thankfully, my father taught me enough about cars to know when a fast one's being pulled over on me, and yes, I have had to deal with that in the past with different mechanics, but never once at Buzz's, with any of their mechanics, have I had that happen. So when I say you can trust them, I mean, 100% you can trust them with your vehicle and know you are getting the best value, for what you need fixed, and it will be fixed completely and in the best way possible, to fix your needs and budget

Best mechanics and service around ! A great experience thanks to Scott and the guys . I'll be back !read more
