    Midas is one of my go-to places if something's wrong with my pickup truck, mostly because its the…read morenearest auto place to where I live (plus it's two doors down from Valvoline if they diagnose a problem!). They have always been nice enough to check out what's wrong. For example: in the past, they figured out what was wrong with my exhaust system, and they wanted to replace it for over a grand. But since I don't make a lot of money, I went to a muffler place in town that was much cheaper. I'm aware Midas can charge me more than an independent mechanic. Midas is a corporation, and that's not hard to keep in mind. I went in there yesterday in panic mode. Short version of story: my truck had been acting up the last two weeks and Auto Zone had given me half-assed test results on what made my "Check Engine Light" come on. They told me it may be one of the censors, so I had it fixed by my mechanic. When I got my truck back, my battery got very low - and I just bought and had it installed recently from Valvoline! Well, I took it back to Valvoline and my truck seemed like it was about to die and they told me to go to Midas because it won't make it that far anywhere else. So I did, and explained my situation to the front desk lady, and one of the workers took me home. Hours later, I heard from Aaron (super-nice guy), who told me about the alternator and it would be done that same day. I was happy for the first time in days over my truck, you wouldn't believe. I don't know how many cars or appointments were to go on that day at Midas, but I was relieved they took care of me that day. They told me I could pick it up later, for which I did. The only thing I didn't like out of the whole thing was I had to pay right away. I was at work and wasn't able to pick it up until after hours or the next day. I don't mind giving out my info over the phone, but I wanted to have time to go home and move money from my bank accounts so I could get "Cash Back" for using my bank card (Midas is one of my bank's clients that qualifies for Cash Back) and save maybe $30. They wanted the money right then and there, no matter when I was gonna pick it up. But at the end of the day, I'm just happy my truck is back in good health. Again, I know Midas is a respected corporation and they hire the experts and all, and that's great. I'm glad they were there for me. I really did appreciate that they were able to work on my truck on short notice (not that I needed it right away, but after two weeks of the machine not working properly, it was a relief to finally drive it normally!). They supposedly did a vehicle…read moreinspection and told my son that he had less than 5% remaining on his front and rear brake pads, and that he needed 4 new rotors . They gave him an estimate of $1,478.84. We called two other repair shops and they both said that estimate was way too high . We ended up getting all the repairs done for $400. He did not need all of the repairs that Midas suggested . His rear brake pads were worn to 50% , not 5% . Beware of the Glen Carbon Midas! My son is a college student and I guess they assumed that he would call home, and I would pay the bill.

My family contacted them and was told they couldn't help and it wasn't their fault. No one from management or at the corporate office would speak to me and I was told no refund could be made as it was fine when my mom drove away. I have advised my insurance company to remove them from recommended "repair shops" and they're currently looking into it. In the meantime, take your car elsewhere, they will not stand behind their work.

I was picked up to run errands while waiting for my truck to be serviced. I was called at 5:00 and told they would not be able to service my truck because the other truck was stuck on the lift. I pulled up around 5:15 to pick my unserviced truck up and was told sorry but also noticed the previous truck was no longer on the lift. Maybe they wanted to close early. We are a busy family and a very organized family. I wouldn't waste your time going to this location unless you want bad service. We were just there for a scheduled oil change. Do you really want these incompetent people doing any service on your vehicle? I don't and will not be returning but didn't want anyone else to waste their time either going

Got all the preliminary work done, popped the hood and patiently waited for my turn. Shortly after, I was asked to move over to the other lane and I did so. Maybe 10 minutes later, the young man who checked me in came and asked me to move back to the other lane because a gentleman in a minivan felt he should was and should go first. I don't believe this gentleman was even in line before I got there and commented on this to the service tech. I told him I was not moving again and he informed he would tell his boss. Shortly after this encounter another male tech, assumed the boss, came strutting over to my vehicle. He told me he had checked the video and it showed the minivan had arrived prior to me. I told him I didn't believe so because I pulled in behind the white car now sitting next to me. He told me, and this is a direct quote, "I don't know if you are a liar or old and confused, but I'll let it go this time." (My Siri, which I was setting reminders on, caught the whole conversation.) I told him that wouldn't be necessary because I'll would drive on through, without service, after the truck in front of me was finished. Which is what I did, after pausing for them to close my car hood. $101 and some change will go to another business with more organizational skills, better management and customer service skills. Will never use this business again.

    About a month ago I went in because my check engine light was on, they told me it was because of a…read morefaulty EGR valve and the thermometer being stuck in the closed position. Because of the latter, I also got the coolant flushed and replaced. One thing I do like about CBA is how thorough they are with their inspections; I really like the digital inspection report they send, the different issues that are labeled based on how important they are, and the plethora of pictures they provide. The tech I talked to mostly, Jake, was very kind and patient, and knew his stuff. For further context, my car is a 03 Chevy Malibu that I honestly should've ditched months ago. There was a lot wrong with it that they found, and Jake kept it real with me and said any more money put into this car would be better spent for a newer one. Anyway, I got the two main issues fixed, and Jake even applied a coupon I wasn't aware of that saved me about $50. Nice! The next day (Thanksgiving), as I was driving, the engine starts to overheat, the car revs on its own, and the fuel gauge suddenly drops to "E" and the check engine light comes on again. Fast forward to me coming back to CBA again. They fixed most of the issues with no additional cost, as apparently there were several air pockets in the cooling system which caused most of the issues. The fuel gauge thing, though, was separate and had something wrong with the sensor. Jake, ever truthful, said that since I was planning on getting a new car soon it wouldn't be worth to fix the gauge and to just fill up on gas a bit more often. I agreed. The next couple of days were okay, the engine didn't overheat, and the car didn't rev on its own! ...But then the engine started stalling and the car died lol. Suffice to say, given the number of issues with the car, I don't think CBA intentionally broke anything during their repairs, as it doesn't surprise me that one thing being fixed would lead to a separate thing breaking down. Also, the diagnostic fee was about $160, which I think is crazy considering Dobbs' fee, which is basically across the street, is about half the cost, AND that fee is waived if you get repairs done there! I double-checked my invoice and CBA's diagnostic fee does not appear to be waived. I suppose I can understand the higher cost with how thorough they are but having it waived would've been nice. Anyway, I only give CBA 3 stars, as I feel like the air pockets and everything else maybe should've been noticed, but they also said they drove it a decent amount after their repairs and didn't see anything on their end. They get a 5/5 for great ideas of having the inspection report, the pictures, the shuttle service, and having techs there that are genuinely nice and seem to be looking out for your best interest.

    I can't believe how unsurprised I am. I went for an oil change today. I got told quote…read more Drain plug cover over torqued prior to service cannot remove for oil change. That is what it said on their canceled invoice I told the lady at the desk it will be May when the next place does it. And guess what? I am amazed as not even thirty minutes later I was at Valvoline getting my oil changed. The sad thing is Walmart had big burly guys and the Valvoline guy probably weighed 150 lbs soaking wet had not issue getting it off. So bravo Walmart you certainly hired some lazy guys.

    My wife took her vehicle to this Walmart auto center for repair of a tire that was leaking. The…read moretires were purchased from Walmart online and installed at this location and the road hazard warranty was purchased. She provided them with a copy of the receipts from the tire purchase and installation, which included the road hazard. She waited for about 1.5 hours in the store (shopping and then in the waiting area) and was never contacted by the store that the repair was completed. She checked with the auto center and they said that the repair had been completed about an hour earlier. They also charged her $15 for the tire repair, even though she showed them the receipt indicating that road hazard warranty had been purchased. They were confused, because the technician at the time of installation did something incorrectly and did not link the online tire purchase to the installation order and the orders were not correct in their system. This resulted in me calling the store and them indicating that she would have to drive all the way back to the store with all of the receipts in order to get the $15 refunded. This is pathetic. They wasted her time by not contacting her when the repair was completed and now are wasting her time and gas by requiring her to drive back up there to get the $15 refunded, when they are perfectly capable of voiding the charge from the transaction. This all happened on the same day, so the transaction had not cleared yet. These transactions can be modified by the store. This place might be able to save you money on your tires, but in the end, I am not sure it is worth all of the hassle.
