My intentions in writing this review is so that management and corporate will see this and hopefully improve on their process and turn around time for ordering and renting suits. This is a late review, as, this pertains to my experience with Al's for my wedding weekend which was in late October 2020. Now that the steam coming from my ears have worn off, and I've had a bit of time to adjust to married life and calm down a bit, it's safe to say, I can write a constructive review. So, for this store, the experience was pleasant, but I wouldn't say that it was great. I interacted most with Quentin (Assistant Store Mgr., I believe), and the store manager (Priscilla). My initial wedding date was April 2020, but had to be postponed due to COVID-19. Much of the communication then became me taking the initiative to call them and follow up with them regarding the suit rentals for the groomsmen, and any changes/updates due to COVID-19. I hadn't heard from the store in months, and only when I started to get the ball rolling were communications happening back and forth. We ended up having to postpone our wedding to October 2020. We ordered the Fantasy-Midnight Blue Tux (slim fit), but opted out of the vest and the bow tie, as I didn't prefer the vest and had ordered a specific bowtie from a different store. I acknowledge that we ordered the slim fit, however, we really tried our best to work with the groomsmen (as they all lived out of state) to go and get fitted asap, and despite having to switch up the groomsmen party at the last minute, due to COVID, we/I made sure to provide all the measurements asap. With that being said, Quentin, Priscilla, and any store associates, should have informed us that the suits tend to run small(er), and despite the measurements being provided, maybe we should size up a bit. I say this, because once we picked up the suits, none of the suits fit any of our groomsmen, they all ran too small. I think poor training and lack of knowledge definitely played a roll here. As a result, once we arrived to Austin, TX to the Lakeline Mall location, we encountered the biggest nightmare. PIcked up the suits, none of them fit, and then they ended up having to overnight us suits and pants the MORNING OF the wedding straight to our venue. Come to find out, after the wedding was over, they had overnighted us black pants instead of Midnight Blue. Of course, all of this will be appear in my wedding photos, and of course it's too late. I just wanted to reiterate that the process to order/receive suit rentals needs to change. Way too close, with little flexibility, and ultimately created a disaster for our big day. I honestly would NOT recommend using Al's Formal wear for wedding(s). Maybe prom, or if your renting just for yourself, it might be acceptable, but not for a large party such as a wedding. read more

Our initial experience has been nothing short of outstanding. We have a large groomsmen party and had booked appointments with another vendor a month before the wedding. After they misplaced our appointment booking and then canceled our fitting the day of, I started calling around to see who could get my entire party in and fitted in such a short time. The consultant, Prescilla, was amazing. She told me what she needed from us, gave us clear dates to avoid additional costs, provided a clear cost, and made sure we had a number for all the other groomsmen so they can easily get measured and place their orders. She provided the best customer service and I am excited that we have one more piece of the wedding done! read more

Great customer service from a gentleman by the name Sean, I believe. (Will update if name is incorrect) He was extremely helpful and went above and beyond to help my husband and his groomsmen find the perfect shades to go together. However, due to the limited shades of blue, we were stuck with coordinating a good color pattern. We ended up looking elsewhere, however we did appreciate Shawn's services and everything he was able to help us out with! Highly recommended for suit rentals! read more

1. Service - Great folks, great attitude, and friendly. Russell is the manager of the team, he gave us a few tips in what we were looking for. Brian is very knowledgable and he walked us through the whole process of it all. From prices, to when we can expect the suits, getting measurements from everyone not in the same place, the fit, the style, and what looks better. They measure your size and they pick up the suit at their warehouse that fits you. I'm sure they'll customize it, if your size is atypical. Tailoring is not done at Al's Formal wear, so you'll need to go to suggested places for a discount. 2. Price - I'm sure they have sales all year round. We got suits for $250 each, a bargain compared to other stores. If renting cost is more than buying, I suggest you buy. But that's just my preference. 3. Ambiance - clean and small. They don't have a huge collection of suits for you to try on. They only have suits on display for what they have for rent and for sale. Most of their clothes are in a warehouse which they will pick up for you. All of their suits are pre-made. They only have one handful of workers at the store, and you feel that they are giving you all of their attention when you're in the store. 4. Fit - they typically have a regular fit and a slim fit. This is what I like about this place. When you buy slim fit in other shops, it's still baggy on you and it doesn't fit quite nice. But at this place, it fits just right and it's actually slimmer compared to other places. 5. Quality - judging by the fabric and the way it sits on you, it is really nice. I have bought a suit from this place before. They typically sell the brand "Doni Barassi" and "Caravelli", both are Italian brands. Both brands fit very nice and I guarantee that you will look sharp in them. read more

Overpriced and poor quality! Do not use them! They gave me filthy shoes that smelled bad and they were the wrong color!! They gave me the wrong size too. For $220 dollars you get a suit that doesn't fit right, smelly filthy shoes with creases and a huge dent, and poor customer service. They didn't even call me in when my suit was ready I had to call them last minute. The suit was the lowest of quality it probably was made overseas for less than $50 all together the suit was polyester and the sleeves were too long it looked very bad. The pants were way too baggy. You would be better off buying a cheap suit and getting it tailored at least you won't get ripped off by this place feeling like you have no recourse for the lost money. read more

Service was top notch. The young lady = petite with dark hair and glasses, maybe her name was Monica - was very helpful. She greeted us upon arrival, I told her what we needed, she went right to it and pulled out exactly what we were looking for. She prepped the item for hubs to try on, she gave us a few collar extenders, hung up and bagged the item, and did an accurate and expedient checkout. She explAined the return policy without our asking, which was great, so we would not be surprised IF we had to return the item. She was pleasant to work with and I would definitely shop here again. It's a very small store, but there are shoes, ties, socks, bow ties, tuxes, theme ties (Hook 'Em) suspenders, pRobably some other stuff I didn't see. THESE PEOPLE ARE INCOMPETENT!!! I am telling everyone I know to never use them. My son ordered tuxes for his wedding from them. Multiple problems!!! FIRST PROBLEM: When they arrived, they were the wrong color! The bride went to the store to tell them what happened, and they basically just said "sorry". She asked them to rush order the correct ones, and they said they "might" arrive in time for the wedding! Too much stress, so she passed on that one. She then actually had to ask for some type of compensation! They did not offer it! They gave the groom his free, but only gave everyone else $50!!! PROBLEM TWO: Not a single tux fit correctly! We're talking 13 tuxes, here, people! They did alter each of them on the spot, but that should not happened in the first place. PROBLEM THREE: They only ordered one ring bearer tux for a set of twins! Were able to get that one rushed, but again, should not happen in the first place.PROBLEM FOUR: They sent the shoes they ordered that matched the original, correct tux, but they did not match the tux that we received! Luckily they keep shoes in the store so we could switch out, but it was difficult to fit picking them all up into the schedule and more stress on the bride and groom.PROBLEM FIVE: The buttons on the Best Mans tux were different than everyone else!!! I recently (6/19/15) used this Al's formal wear as the headquarters for my groomsmen, ushers and father in law. Throughout the 11 months leading up to the wedding I went in 4 separate times. 2 of those times were to size and 2 of those were to verify the information. Thinking 2 times was enough to verify the colors, sizes and delivery date for everyone was enough I never bothered to make sure the groomsmen got the right color. I chose to have a different color suit as the groomsmen and they messed it up. A groomsmen received my color suit and we did not find out until the day prior to the wedding. Al's does not stock suits so we had to find a solution. I tried them before for another wedding (Jan 2013) and they screwed that one up too. I thought to myself "you have to give them another shot".I will tell anyone to go somewhere else besides this location. Anywhere else has to be better. Do not get screwed like I did. read more
