Went for the first time today! Al's Grill is a true gem. The pancakes are fluffy and delicious, the bacon is perfectly crispy, and the scrambled eggs are simple and well made. The staff is incredibly friendly and the whole place has a warm, homey feel. They have been in business for more than fifty years, and you can tell why. A classic diner and we'll for sure be back!!

Looking for a classic diner meal in oak park? Al's grill has been checking that box for diners since before I was born. I started this review the last time I was here with my dad, but the experience I just had changed my mind forever. As my dad always reminds me, the food might bring us in-- but it's the service that brings us back. I think it's the liver and onions he likes. I just went in as a driver to pick up an order. The restaurant was almost empty and there were many people working. The waitresses were downright insulting to me. They apparently only pretend to value your life if there is a possibility of a tip. Then they shake those 70 year old butts and giggle. I suddenly wish that I could retroactively un-tip the whole staff. Seriously. I will never go in there again. The order I had been assigned was sitting on the counter. The wait staff was ignoring me and then once they deigned to acknowledge me-- they were verbally abusive and condescending. If you can't treat me professionally when I am working as a delivery partner, you don't get any more of my business. They told me to take off my mask and stop yelling at them. I had never once raised my voice. I had asked if I might go ahead and read the bag and take it (I could see the name from two feet away...and I had been standing there for a bit being told that I had to wait for my turn--remember: almost empty.) No! They both screamed as they glared at me. You may not touch anything! I told them "no worries, I will never return." 2/10 the food is only okay but it is across from a hospital.

Real old school authentic dinner with great food and service. The menu is big with various options that sound delicious. I had the skirt steak and eggs with toast and hash browns. The steak was very flavorful and did not need any sauce. I never had hash browns prepared like these before but they were very good and seasoned very well. My girlfriend always gets the french toast, she loves them. I would definitely recommend this place and will be visiting again.

Friendly folks and great food fast on a fully shaded outdoor patio. What more do you need?

I went to visit my dad at the assisted living building across the street & planned on treating him to lunch but he'd already eaten. Nothing wrong with treating myself tho I sat by myself outside & mostly stayed off my phone. It was a nice day out, sunny but with a breeze going. I ordered a Diet Coke with the patty melt deluxe. The food was tasty, the service was prompt & friendly, & the price was decent.

Food is good. All the employees yell at each other. Just go to get good food if you don't mind the attitude of the waitresses.

We visited to celebrate a birthday on a Saturday night with a reservation and were seated by the window to our delight. The ambiance in the restaurant is so cozy and rustic, a wonderful vibe. We were first brought Garlic Pesto Bread that was still warm and delicious. Later we ordered drinks and appetizers. Both the Honey Whipped Goat Cheese and Beet Salad were phenomenal and so unique. For entrees we ordered the Beef Tartare, Caesar Salad with Blackened Salmon (an added request), Italian Sausage Orecchiette, and Braised Beef Short Ribs. Absolutely nothing disappointed and everything our waitress Lauren recommended was spot on. She is a rockstar! For dessert we ordered two chocolate mousses, and Crème Brûlée to share. The perfect way to end our night. This is a great upscale date spot or place to celebrate as it is on the pricier side, but we could not have been happier with our food, service, and overall experience.

The server didn't know the menu as we would have expected and attempted to remove plates when we were clearly still eating. Not the best services Food was ok but for shrimp risotto that wasn't awesome, a shared house salad and 2 glasses of wine for $80 before tip? There are so many other amazing restaurants for same price or even less. I won't be rushing to return.

It wasn't bad (I guess?) but just ....strange…read more I went specifically for happy hour, hoping to avoid traffic on my way back to the city. Walked in to an empty restaurant and asked to sit at the bar. Front of house staff was confused but obliged. Bartender is very overwhelmed making drinks for a table on the patio. I'm in absolutely no hurry, so I wait. Eventually another bartender came over, asked for my order and I asked to see a drink menu. He comes back, I ask him about happy hour specials and he wanders away saying "appetizers...." I pulled up the website and saw that the happy hour is actually really good!!! Half off apps and $8 wine. I order Pinot Grigio, baked goat cheese, and calamari. Here's how it went: -Wine was 100% a Chardonnay. I tried to drink it but I really, really couldn't. -Baked goat cheese. Sauce and cheese had flavor, pesto on the bread did not. Not a huge problem but I did notice. -Fried calamari. SIGH. As rubbery as one can get and kind of tasted like the fryer oil needed to be changed. I packaged it up to go (I think I felt too embarrassed to leave a full plate), but threw it away before I got to the car. All in all, I think it could have been good. Maybe I came on the wrong day? Staffing was weird? A little 'off' from what I would expect from a place with white tablecloths in the dining room.

The food was just as high quality as it is when ordering individual meals, which is not always the case with catering. Everything was prepared perfectly, packaged well, and ready on time, making hosting completely stress free. Guests loved the food and several people asked where it was from. The service and communication were excellent, and it reinforced why we keep coming back. Tre Sorelle truly delivers whether it is dine in, takeout, or catering.
