On a cold and blustery night this restaurant makes you feel the warmth of the sun from the genuine service to the beautiful decor and of course the food. We enjoyed every bite and would definitely return.

We visited Maya del Sol as a group of 10 and arrived around 4:30 PM, just in time to enjoy happy hour drink specials until 5:30 PM, which was a great bonus. Our waiter was friendly, welcoming, and attentive, especially considering the size of our group. The restaurant was well staffed, which made service smooth and efficient. Overall, the food was good and everyone else really enjoyed their meals. One person in our group did receive chicken that was pink in the middle, and we informed our waiter right away. Aside from that one issue, the rest of the table finished and enjoyed their food. The ambience was very nice--dim lighting, warm and inviting, perfect for a relaxed dinner. Despite being busy, the restaurant felt well organized and comfortable. Overall, we enjoyed the experience. Aside from the one food issue, everything else was positive, and I would go again.

You definitely should have a reservation before going here if you want to come during peak dinner hours. We went for happy hour & I think it was a pretty good deal for the drinks. Most of the food was good, maybe not the most authentic food though. Definitely a vibe for drinks and such but i'd probably start here with drinks and eat elsewhere. The prices are very high for the quality and size of the food you get.

First time visiting and will definitely return! Was celebrating my sister's birthday and even though we were a day early, they still gave her a Tres Leches Cake for free. We sat on the patio and it was an amazing place to sit and have cocktails and lunch!

Sunday Brunch Day! We went to brunch with my son today at this Latin restaurant in Oak Park. Maya Del Sol has a special brunch menu from 10-2pm. The restaurant is large as is the bar, and they have a great outdoor patio. The manager welcomed us and also checked on us when we were eating. Our server was Philip. Nice guy that provided friendly and good service. The bloody marys here are made with their spicy homemade mix and comes with a large shrimp, chorizo and olive skewer. They're so good! I had coffee, but my hubby had that special bloody mary and my son had a michelada. Both the guys had the steak skillet with eggs on top. The skillet was marinated skirt steak, poblanos, onion, pepper, potatoes, broccolini, and a frisee salad. They both agreed that the steak was tender and flavorful. I had the heuvos ranchero with overeasy eggs. My dish was black beans, cheese, avocado and pico de gall on a tostada. It was full of flavor and delish, too. I also had a side of bacon, three slices and crispy. Other than what I described, there's chilaquiles, egg burrito, French toast and pancakes. I'd love an egg dish, maybe an omelette without a tortilla or tortilla chips. The menu is missing that. I've been here more than a few times and do recommend this restaurant.

It was our first time there and we celebrated my moms birthday. I ordered the barbacoa tacos and the first bite took me back to Mexico. I've never had barbacoa THAT authentic until this place. Our server brought out a cake, a tres leches cake. Again, the most delicious tres leches I've ever had. 5 stars all around. Our server was great, atmosphere was nice too. As a Mexican, this place is outstanding.

The ambience was great and the drinks were good, but I visited during happy hour (Sunday) and was still charged full price. I didn't notice the issue until I got home and checked the bill.

They have a Happy Hour we had the Pickanna Margarita and Red Sangria with fish tacos. The chips and salsa, fish tacos and drinks were really good. Our server was attentive, prompt, and friendly - very knowledgeable about the menu. The vibe was chill. We saw they have a DJ or band some nights but left before that experience. Will definitely be back.

Whoa! This place has amazing food, I had the carne asada which was cooked to perfection. The drinks are DELICIOUS! I had the guava Margarita. Sangria was delicious too per the girls I was dining with. Dessert (churros) perfect. This is a must try and a perfect spot to dine with friends. Carlos was attentive. Very thankful to everyone who took the time to attend to us.

I loved the crunch of the quesadillas against the creamy filling. Next we shared a carne asada pizza. This pizza had a perfectly thin and crispy crust topped with grilled skirt steak with a cilantro pesto sauce. So flavorful! For the main event we shared a 22oz bone-in ribeye with truffle fries. The vibe inside is perfect for an intimate evening or afternoon lunch. Dark wood seating, an ample sized bar with dim lighting makes this a comfortable, chic spot. There is street side outdoor seating; however, there were no table umbrellas during our visit. The staff greeted us immediately and was happy to review the menu with us. We had the mole with roasted broccoli and cauliflower, unicorn pescado tacos and a Plato Fuerte with shrimp, lobster and chicken in a tasty creamy sauce. We loved all of the entrées; however, thought the mole was a lacking the traditional mole flavors we've tried before. The unicorn fish tacos were the standout and were crispy and delicious! We also appreciated the 4 taco serving, which was perfect for two. Prices were on point with other similar style restaurants in Oak Park, slightly elevated but fair for the quality of ingredients. Chef Gabriel's food is creative and delicious. His brother-in-law Jose, I believe, is the one behind the great cocktail list and making housemade aperitifs. The four of us shared two appetizers. The tuna tartare - chopped tuna on top of creamy avocado surrounded by crispy capers and quail yolk. It was served with homemade potato and vegetable chips. We also shared the goat cheese - creamy melted goat cheese sitting in a pool of tasty marinara. This was served with grilled baguette pieces. This appetizer could use more of the baguette as we ran out of bread and still had goat cheese left to enjoy. For dinner, my sister had the gnocchi with braised beef, short rib, spinach and mushrooms. I know this dish was delicious because this is what my husband ordered the first time we dined here. My two cousins had the chicken limone and said it was very good. (I have my eye on this for next time ). I opted for the branzino which was moist and served in a delicious lemon caper sauce. I would like to see a traditional pasta with marinara sauce on the menu. I think that would be a great addition for clientele who are into the traditional instead of the creative and unique. There was no room for dessert, but shots of limoncello came to the table. So sweet of Divino. Let me tell you the limoncello was amazing. Luckily, I was able to buy a bottle of this housemade limoncello. Since the four of us were raving about the limoncello, right before we walked out the door Divino gave us a tasting of the housemade pistachio cream. Omg! So smooth, creamy and divine.
