West Central Ave in St. Pete is quickly becoming our new favorite hangout! We just found bright fun Neon Lunchbox! While every item in the menu starts with some good old-time classic, they dont resist creative delicious updates to the recipes. We fell into their muffaletta, and if you've had one at Central Market in New Orleans, you'll recognize the lovely fresh traditional round sesame-encrusted bun stuffed with stacked italian-style coldcuts and cheese. I'm going to say flavorful salami, rich mortadella, sweet tender ham, and creamy provolone. The key, as with that N'awlins original, is bright flavorful house-made chopped green-olive tapenade, a heavenly mixture with garlic and soft sweet peppers, wet with a copious amount of the freshest olive oil. A muffuletta is so much more than the ingredients-list. And this is wonderful handful and mouthful and stomach-full. It was lunch, on the way to a busy day, so we exercised rare self-control to share a hand-crafted Mr. Big: a Dr.Pepper-like cocktail, nicely sweet next to that sandwich. Of course, they have a slew of creative specialty cocktails. It's our only criticism, that the drinks they list are almost all sweet flavors. The one we had was a perfect complement to our savory sandwich, but much of the time we prefer a bitters-forward whisky or bourbon. I have no doubt they will make any we request, but i'd love to see their own recipe inventions! We want to try more of their food creations: a chopped-cold-cut italian sandwich, a fried bologna with two kinds of smoky cheeses, bacon-topped thin-dough pierogis, a spicy mac-and-cheese, ... Soooo good! We stopped into Neon Lunchbox for a quick lunch. The girl working seemed happy to be there and quick to help us. I only got water to drink but they do have good drink specials and happy hour. Restaurant is clean and bright with lots of unique decor. To eat I got the chicken Caesar wrap. It was very tasty! Lettuce was fresh and crisp, there was a good amount of chicken which was also of good quality. And the size of the wrap is huge, definitely enough for 2 meals or to split with someone. Even the chips on the side were good. Overall very happy with my lunch! read more

I stopped by during the soft opening to get the vibe of what was to come and was super excited for what they were offering. Today i came by for lunch to finally try them out. The inside had plenty of seating both at the bar and various tables. The theme is a mix of late 80s early 90s, very nostalgia driven and simple way. It's not overly done or anything; simple wall decor and retro paint. The staff was friendly, answering my questions about the menu since the place was new I wanted to make sure i got possibly what would be my next, "go to meal" The restaurant serves a variety of heart meals from salads that have gnocchi on it, pierogis which I did order and were delicious, various sandwiches , dinners and more. I also got an order of wings which come in an order of 6. They are baked and are in what they call a Louisiana style glaze. I can tell it wasn't healthy because it was so delicious. As a kid who grew up in the 90s I LOVE the 90s vibe! Our server was the bartender. She was super sweet and working the whole room by herself. Since she was, I asked for a pitcher of Diet Coke. She was cool with that. I drink a bunch of dc and I didn't want to run her around. We started of with The Rollie Polie Olie, (pierogies) to start I got the Johnny bravo, which is a turkey, bacon and cheese sandwich pressed like a Panini. My wife got The big bird. It's a chicken salad sandwich. The menu isn't large. There's no burgers or pizzas that you would think they would have. The pierogis were good. My wife and I both enjoyed them. I was underwhelmed by my turkey bacon sandwich. There wasn't much bacon and that really held the sandwich back. The bred also was a little under toasted. My wife enjoyed her chicken salad sandwich. She mentioned it has a little kick to it. Full disclosure she is soft when it comes to spices. Over all it was cool and the server was super nice. We felt bad for her because she was doing everything. Super nice. I'd come here again and probably order something else. They also host events and I would be interested in coming here and seeing what that is like. read more

I came to Neon Lunchbox for lunch with my friend. The 3 Cheese Mac n cheese had a barbecue flavor and was unexpected. Apparantly that is part of the recipe. If you like barbecue, you might like it. My friends meal was just fine. read more

Great food, great service, all wrapped in the most nostalgic vibes ever! Everywhere you look there's something new to see! Our server, Anne, was super attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu! Her recommendations made for the PERFECT dinner! $1 jello shots to start - CANNOT BEAT IT! My husband got the Kid 'n Play brisket sliders that were to dieeee for!! I got the Charmander mac 'n cheese with chicken which was also amazing!! We will 100% be back to try more!!! read more

I put a comment to have NO spicy condiments on the turkey sandwich. They followed my request. However, wouldn't you think that if their homemade chips were hot and spicy it would be good to know. You charge an extra $5 for 3/4 of a soggy, seasoned pickle, $5 extra for a half bag of gas station ruffles potato chips with some other kind of seasoning on them....that's ridiculous. Told the waitress I wanted my sliders as my lunch, no problem....sliders came 11 minutes before my friends lunch. Asked the waitress three times for m lemon for my soft drink. $12.95 for (3) sliders, $5 for inedible pickles, $5 for a half bag of gas station ruffles potato chips, $3.95 for a soft drink..with tax and tip it was $36.00 for a totally mediocre lunch! Recently had lunch here with 2 other adults. The staff was friendly and attentive. It had a super fun 80s-90s atmosphere that was cool looking at toys, VCR boxes, etc that reminded me of my childhood. The food was also delicious. All three of us enjoyed our meals. I had the brisket sliders from the app section and they were delicious, the brisket was fantastic and I'm super picky. The other 2 in my group had sandwiches that they enjoyed. I had the opportunity to attend a soft opening event at this fun hip establishment that will as the restaurant says "We're a vibrant fusion of 80s/90s nostalgia, live tunes, and eclectic bites. Immerse yourself in neon hues, pulsating beats, and a menu that mirrors the era's eclectic vibe." And indeed it does - very sensory oriented with paintings of various movie and LOTS of Neon. We started off with a Butter Boards of The Princess Bridge that consisted of course - butter along with fig, hot honey, fried garlic, smoked salt and cracked black pepper. I had the perogies while others had varieties of The Golden Girls which is crostinis with choice of protein and smoked gouda spread with the names of Rose, Blanche, Sophia and Dorothy how could you go wrong. My fave I have to say was the potato chips. While I'm not normally a wavey potato chip gal these were special - baked with sriracha they also have powered sugar - delic. We ended the meal with The Baby Spice - spiced apple cake with a habanero kick. The owner, Ozzy was on top of everything and the service was top notch. Party of 3. We ordered 2 appetizers, 2 sandwiches, and a salad. Appetizers came out, sandwich came out. The rest of the order did not. Pver 30 mins later we find out that the waitress (who was on her first day) lets us know the order was cancelled out by the kitchen. Nobody told her.had to put the order in again and wait. No management came up to us, they let the waitress take the fall. (Her tip was not affected). As a courtesy for customers. Do better. Almost 2 hour trip for subpar bar food is not it. read more

As soon as i walked into this 80s-90s themed restaurant i was greeted by incredibly friendly staff and quick service, not to mention how delicious the food was and their signature cocktails were to die for!
