They had a few great by the glass wines that struck my fancy and I followed it up with an aperol spritz which was perfectly done ( not too sweet). We shared a burger and salad . The home fries were amazing and the burger was juicy!! Service was great and the manager even came to the table to check everything out . Menu is a bit pricey, but hey -- it's on the beach. Such a hidden gem in the Pass A Grille area. I was able to enjoy the rooftop bar for drinks before heading downstairs to dinner. Service at both areas was great. Drinks were good at the rooftop and there is plenty of high-top table seating, lounge seating, and seating at the bar. The restaurant space is intimate or there is also an outdoor area for larger groups. Our server was able to have the kitchen split both our salad choice and entree choice, so portions were spot on. The Cesar salad was flavorful, and the market catch of the day (halibut) was cooked perfectly. Really enjoyed this place. The location is great, lots going on around. We started off at the rooftop bar which was nicely set up and had a beverage and watched a band below. Later we went down for our reservation to eat. Everything was great here except the service in the beginning. I'm not sure if it was because of how crowded it was but we waited about 30 min before someone approached our table. They were so sweet after confronted though, and did not charge us for our first round of drinks which was greatly appreciated and is why I did not knock of a star. Has not been to Pass-a-Grill in years. Today as such a pleasant surprise. This is relatively new construction, was formally opened right before Covidlife. Basically clean, new, comfortable and very very attractive, yet classically elegant. I have to start with props for our server Chrissy. She is a true professional who made today's experience all the better. In fact, would definitely go back! Basically we all had the Cobb salad. With 1 exception? Generous in portion size and of the highest quality. I particularly enjoyed both the pulled pork and the bacon scattered throughout. Blue cheese was excellent as well. This lovely spot is located in the Berkeley Beach Club boutique hotel in Pass-A-Grille and is the perfect compliment to the beach life. I had reservations for my Meetup group and they were very accommodating. I got there a little early and Erin made me a blood orange vodka concoction that was so on point and a great way to start the brunch. Our server Michael was top notch. When he went around the table he took the ladies orders first. Everyone mentioned how much they enjoyed their drinks. The most interesting of them was the Breakfast Sour that had bacon-fat-washed benchmark bourbon. I got as I call it the Paula Abdul - Straight Up - which included two eggs (scrambled), bacon, home fries and a biscuit - nom nom! The Churro French Toast was a fan fave as well. Stayed at the hotel above during Christmas weekend so we were able to try this place for brunch and for dinner. For brunch we were able to sit outside with our dog and had a nice and simple service. Food was all very good however it's very particular plates. Definitely have to be sure of what you're ordering. I had the bbq pork Cobb salad 4/5 and I was not quite expecting straight bbq sauce on a salad along with salad dressing. Enjoyed the rest of the ingredients though! Table also had peach pancakes 5/5, sweet and delicious. Salmon and dill shortstack 3/5. Maybe not enough smoked salmon for a dish to be called salmon in my opinion... flavors paired very well together which was surprising but personally couldn't eat a whole plate of this. Dinner: stayed for Christmas Eve dinner which included a 5 course meal. Service was 3.7/5... I understand she may have had a long and busy night however a couple times she was short with us and anytime she asked how was the meal she was already walking away by the time we were able to respond. Originally ordered Cesar salad but ended up not having anymore so went with beet salad. Very delish and refreshing. In love with the goat cheese! Butternut cream soup was amazing... definitely needs to be a regular dish! Salmon with cream potatoes, can't go very wrong with a simple dish. Other table mates, chicken and broccoli and salmon cakes. Chicken was a little dry but veg was perfect. Salmon cakes were great but did not care for the sauce/dip on the side. Went here for brunch yesterday and everything was absolutely fantastic. Everyone in our party was very happy! For food: Some of the things we ordered were the croque madame, brunch burger, quinoa bowl, stuffed French toast, cava pancakes, and fried chicken biscuit. Every single thing was delicious!! For drinks: We had the ranch margarita and aperol spritz. Both drinks were very well made and delicious. For service: Our server was good and had a nice balance of being attentive while also not being overbearing. At one point he forgot my rancho margarita but was quick to correct it, apologized and was prompt in getting it once I asked. He was balancing tables all over the restaurant and did an excellent job even with the large number of tables. For families with kids: My two young children (ages 2.5 and 4.5) were also with us and they were very accommodating for them as well. They have a kids menu and provided crayons and a coloring sheet, plus also ensured their food came out first. There was no changing table in the women's bathroom but there was enough space next to the sink to do a quick change. Not crowded and still 2.5 hours from sunset, we order a round of cocktails and some oysters. Not sure what took our server or drinks and food so long but we waited and waited for 15-20 minutes. Now the views filled some of that time but the experience after that didn't much improve. The drinks came and my girlfriend's pineapple Cocktail was nice. I ordered a Moscow Mule but it was far from that. Not sure there was vodka in it, seemed to be more of a gin and tonic. It wasn't even served in a copper mug. We reordered a second round and the same drinks were brought. Again it wasn't a mule but I was thirsty and finished it. However we still had not received our appetizer and had about 5 minute before our reservation. The manager or supervisor told us to take our time and head downstairs when we were done, which we did. The Oysters Primordial was wonderful. Thumbs up on that. We took the elevator down and we're seated at the outdoor patio, a quaint area, relatively quiet and nice. We got some water and then ordered an overpriced bottle of bubbly rose that was very average. For dinner my girlfriend got a seafood linguini with scallops and shrimp with sea beans. It tasted fantastic! I ordered the fish of the day, snapper. It was I overcooked , difficult to cut, dry and not flaky, not very tasty. Greeted by the owner when first walking in, I knew this restaurant was going to be a great experience. The food absolutely delivered. Everything tasted so fresh, and the menu continuously changes throughout the weeks. The calamari didn't even taste fried it was that good. The Caesar salad was more decorated than I anticipated, and I was happy about it. The black bean toast and prosciutto added on provided depth to the salad. The Cioppino was the best I've had. Calamari, mussels, scallops, and shrimp all in a beautiful broth of spices and flavor. It came with toasted baguettes with a honey mustard spread. It was so fun going here for a drink upstairs on the rooftop. The sunset is exquisite. It overlooks the Gulf of Mexico and the beach.We were debating about having oysters but then we decided not to. We then sat at the bar downstairs and had dinner. I had a side salad with a main meal of zahtar crusted tofu- quinoa tabbouleh, seared king trumpet mushrooms, grilled zucchini, preserved lom tzatziki and olive tapenade. Visited the rooftop for brunch on a Sunday at the Dewey Beach Bar and Grill. This place is so cute, great view, decor on the rooftop is laid back but upscale. This place has a great vibe. Three stars due to service though. I think they are still working out the kinks. They server was extremely frazzled, coffee was not ready and seemed like a huge ordeal. Everything seemed like a huge ordeal for the server for some reason. We were like, so sorry to impose on you by showing up to your restaurant for brunch.... Hoping the service issues are temporary as the location is fantastic and this place has real potential. Great views of inter-coastal waterway on Pass-A-Grill. The waffle also come with the roasted walnut. This dish is decent. I also has the bowl of soup with southern clam chowder. Not much of clam. And the clam is tiny. My friend order the tuna melt. Beautiful restaurant, attention to detail in decor was well thought out. We came in on a Friday night around 7pm, only a few tables but it filled up by the time we left. Service was very good. We were approached by what seemed to be the restaurant manager to ask how we were during our meal. We were a bit surprised there was no bread service for the table, something restaurants at this level will usually provide something as you look over the menu. As for the menu, in my opinion, was lacking another 3-4 items, as it only had 7 dinner entree's to choose from and no specials. Being in a Gulf Coast location, it would have been nice to see a few more seafood offerings. Starters, deserts and drinks did have very nice offerings but again, dinner entree's seemed insufficient. We spoke to a couple also staying in our hotel and they agreed the dinner entree's were lacking in variety. They were with a party of 8 next to us and had 4 people getting the same thing. The food was presented nicely, served hot and had good flavors. Overall we had a great experience. The lack of bread service and menu items are the only shortfalls of the Dewey. read more

New rooftop place in PAG! Very nice lounge area with great views of the gulf. We just stopped in for drinks and light bites which was perfect since that is what they offered. Staff was very friendly and accommodating with us as we wanted to sit by the rail but only needed a 2 top. Initially they hesitated breaking up a 4 top but eventually they relented. Drinks were pretty tasty and strong for the price. Food menu was full of good sounding small bites and tonight they had a special menu that benefited the Humane society. Fabulous! Reminded me of a Southampton restaurant, very clean, stylish and beachy! Beautiful bar area and rooftop deck to watch the sunset! We ate the Brussel sprouts as an appetizer and it was out of this world, never tasted them so good! My friend has the fried soft shell crab that was also the best I've ever had and I only get them sautéed but I would get this next time I go if it's on the menu! I had the beet salad with grilled salmon, I thought it would be fine but I was wrong, it was delicious! It was my friends birthday so the wonderful manager bought us their peach tart with a candle! We are visiting from Atlanta and had Dewey's as our first brunch here! It was phenomenal! The menu wasn't huge but we were honestly thankful for that bc it was super hard to choose from their delicious options. Most of my fam got the Oscar omelet and it was So Good! Let me start by saying the rooftop bar had excellent service and great oysters. Unfortunately, things took a nosedive after. I made reservations for 8:15 to celebrate our anniversary over what we thought would be a nice fine dining meal downstairs at The Dewey. We started with burrata and I genuinely wish I took a picture of how sad it was. It was maybe 3 cherry tomatoes cut in half, 2 bites of cheese, and a piece of toast. We let it go as we were starving and anything sounded good at that point. We continued to wait 40 minutes on entrees as the server told us it was my medium temped salmon we were waiting on and the waygu burger was actually done. In the meantime, my partner ordered a house wine. The red wine came out chilled, brown, and quite literally bubbling. The server accepted us sending the wine back and we opted for a beer instead. This is where things get uncomfortable! Our server brought another server into the conversation who then told my partner he had just seen her open the bottle earlier that day and their couldn't be anything wrong with it. To which we replied, we did not want to be proven wrong, we just wanted a correction. Once our entrees arrived we were told the plates were hot and that they were, scolding! However, my salmon (that our server asked for a temperature on) was still cold and partially frozen in the center. The mix bag of frozen vegetables my salmon sat atop were gray, ice cold, and sitting in what looked and tasted like the water they were thawed in. I was starving and willing to eat anything so the picture below is how much I could stomach before heading to the bathroom to purge my mistake. $36 for a frozen fish and vegetable plate is highway robbery! Next up, I decided to try to dive into my partners fries but yet again hot outside and cold center. Let me also say, I trust Arby's waygu burger over whatever this burger was. I'd like to say the server tried to be nice by discounting the bill but the amount of times it was shoved down our throats that she "has the power to discount" while literally twirling her fingers in her hair was so unbelievably uncomfortable. Please do not touch your hair and then touch drinks and food (even if I'm not eating it). The experience was so awful and anniversary ruining that we thought they were playing a prank on us. I've never been so uncomfortable and unwelcome during a dining experience. I don't currently drink and this place had me ordering a drink at the nearby bar, The Wharf, just to cope with how completely trashed our anniversary was and what a waste of $100+. Very nice views from this small hotel rooftop. We were trying to catch a sunset, have a few drinks and a light dinner. My friend suggested we head to this place since he had been here before and enjoyed it. We called and made reservations, (since after COVID-19, you're never sure what capacity restaurants are operating at). All the CDC protocols seemed to be in use. Everything was clean, social distancing was happening, and people wearing a mask as they walked to their table. We were politely greeted and escorted to a table. We had really great service during a Saturday morning brunch. It wasn't busy when we first arrived at 10:30 but quickly filled in, so I would recommend reservations. There's a rooftop patio that looked beautiful, but that didn't open until the afternoon, so we sat inside and downstairs, which was still lovely and had an elevated Southern atmosphere to it with white walls, dark accents, quirky B&W photos of a dog along the walls. I enjoyed the smoked salmon omelette, which was tasty but caution that it was quite rich. I also enjoyed a glass of cava and a double espresso to finish my meal. We had excellent service from our waitress and all of the staff were patient and sweet with my friend's toddler who was also joining us for the meal. They also had a full bar, but since it was brunch we didn't sample cocktails beyond bubbles and blood marys. There could have been better signage or information about the parking situation, as it's really street parking. There was a paid valet attendant behind and a block over from the restaurant, but we didn't see them until after we had located street parking (which was a cheaper rate anyway). read more

Not a very large space so a reservation was smart for a group of 4+ but has comfortable tables and chairs. Our waiter was friendly and patient to let us enjoy our meal without rushing us out. The menu is delicious but on the more beach casual side to include fish tacos, bbq pork sandwich, fish and chips or a burger. But all the entrees are served on a large plate and presented super. I ordered the fish tacos and it was the right amount of food. 3 tacos served in little metal upright beds with soft tortillas. What's more important to bring up are the fried Brussel Sprouts, WOW!! Amazing. They tasted more like baked and the vinaigrette drizzle plus cheese and nuts it's incredible. I'd go back to order these alone. But the dinner didn't stop there, dessert is just as incredible. I ordered myself the gelato banana split which is enough for 2 to share. A caramelized banana, 3 flavors of gelato (vanilla, fruit and expresso) with crispy marshmallows, graham cracker crumbles and cherries. It's delicious. They deserve major kudos for offering tofu has a protein option. If they give that much thought to the plabt based options you know their omni options have to be solid! We ate here and service was just ok. Our waiter was neither friendly or rude he just did his job and seemed uninterested in being there. We ordered the special of the day which was the seafood boil for the holiday, it seemed like we were shorted on food by as much as 1 order because they claimed to have brought out both orders in 1 pot and it wasn't a lot (per the photos)...when my husband asked them about it they admitted it looked short and brought out another small pot. I really wanted to try the raw oysters, but online (their website and via Facebook Msgr) I was told they only had oysters on the rooftop after 4pm. When we were there however, I asked and was told the rooftop was open and was closing at 4pm then re-opening later for dinner. That's very disappointing since that was the whole reason for making the trip and I probably will not be back. Even living in Tampa proper its a drive like 35 to 40 minutes so...anyhow, the positives is that the seafood boil was great, it's was gluten free (including the sausage), it tasted great, it had good heat that built up in your mouth, it just severely lacked salt. As for desert, my husband loved the brownie and it was huge. Street parking in front of the restaurant and on that street is free (first come first serve). It's right across from the beach also so thats perfect. Although I did not get to experience the rooftop I know its probably great overlooking the beach and all. It was a good experience, I would visit again if the menu was compelling. Im an oyster lover so the fact that they didn't serve any one the 1st floor was unfortunate. read more

Tracy and I always try to find new food places. We found The Dewey Beach Restaurant and Grill on the beach last night. Fried Calamari with celery root slaw, arugula, and fresno lime ailoi. Arbol Chimichurri Grilled Hanger Steak with sherry molasses fried plantains, yucca garlic mash, and cumin grilled squash. Mahi Mahi Fish n' Chips with twice fried hand cut chips, malt vinegar aioli. Chocolate Mousse Cake. Friends, Chef Marty Blitz and Chef Tony Bruno have something special going on here. No salt and pepper shakers on the tables should speak volumes. None needed. The Dewey and Berkley Beach Club goes well and beyond a small restaurant and beach hotel. The hospitality of the staffing is incredible. I had my wedding reception at the Dewey and most of my wedding guests stayed at the Berkley Beach Club. Despite it being a small wedding guest list, I cannot stress the utmost respect, charm, and hospitality I and my guests received while staying at this facility. I coordinated with Stephanie, who was gracious and very attentive to my requests for a luncheon reception. She even noticed all the guests staying for the weekend with a last name similar to mine and reached out about ensuring that we had a breakfast (complete with mimosas!) delivered to our room on the big day which was a day traditionally they do not deliver breakfasts as the kitchen is not open. The chef is a genius. I have been to this facility for brunch before and I knew the reception food was in good hands. The chef came out and we were able to thank him personally for how wonderful it was. The waitress/barmaid was extremely helpful with suggesting drinks off the menu. She was also wonderfully patient when someone ordered and another guest had a moment of "ooooh I want what they're having!" multiple times. If you're considering not having a traditional wedding cake the sister company to the Dewey, Mies en Place, has a extremely talented pastry chef. We decided to go with a Crème brûlée cheesecake in lieu of cake and it was the absolute best cheesecake I've had in my life. For someone planning an event of any kind and considering this facility to host: you will not be disappointed. From the staff, to the food, to the facilities, the Dewey and Berkley Beach Club will ensure you have the absolute best possible experience. I cannot recommend it enough. read more

The rooftop is fabulous. All ages and very comfortable. We have eaten inside, outside in the courtyard. Both have a very lovely ambiance. Even the street side tables are nice because the street is quiet and quaint. The food is exceptional for the beach location. Prices are dear but it's actually worth it! Service has always been better than most! read more

Delicious food, fun cocktails, great staff, beautiful setting . Pass-a-Grille is a fun little beach town and The Dewey is a great place whether you're in the main dining room/bar or up on the roof deck overlooking the beach and the Gulf of Mexico. read more
