Great coffee bar, I definitely recommend going to Alesia for lunch rather than dinner. The outdoor dining area can get a little dirty from the trees dropping leaves and pollen. The service can be slow, and for the prices the food is not all that special and the serving sizes are not particularly generous. I usually don't like leaving bad reviews, but here goes. I ordered a few dishes at Alesia and was really disappointed. The summer rolls (2 for $11.75) were overpriced and plain--just cabbage, no mint or herbs that normally balance the flavor. The sautéed mushrooms with bok choy and tofu were bland, and the bok choy was raw when served. I asked for it to be recooked, but it seemed like they just microwaved the plate for a couple of minutes--it came back still undercooked. Then came the vegetarian pho: $24 plus an extra $7.50 for tofu. I've never seen vegetarian pho priced that high, and sadly, the taste didn't match the cost. The broth tasted like canned vegetable stock--flat, flavorless, with no fragrance or depth. I have no idea how this restaurant has so many good reviews. I was looking for a restaurant that had great takeout, this restaurant hit the spot. We ordered the bun noodle bowls, added shrimp and chicken and grilled pork for a appetizer. We had the shrimp chips which came with the diced apples and everything was really delicious. The food was really fresh and all of my guests were thrilled. First time at this super friendly family style Resturant. Drove over an hour to meet with friends. It was well worth the travel! Staff was amazing, tentative and sweet. Food was delicious. My husband and I had the lobster bisque, breaded tofu, shrimp chips, Burrata salad, Caprese salad, braised short ribs, choc mouse and a bottle of wine. Perfection!!! We are fill but not stuffed. This is the only place in West St Pete that has delicious pho. I've had the beef and chicken pho and enjoyed them both. The indoor ambiance is cosy and stylish with an at home feel. The outdoor area is romantic with lights and makes you feel like you're in another town. It's easy to both order at the counter and eat there or place an order for take out. Bang Mi bowl - 3/5 Let's talk about the Pho - or should I say beef broth with thin spaghetti noodles. If you are going for the Pho - it is not traditional; no veggies and the broth is NOT good. Alesia is such a beautiful space , it reminds me of some restaurants I've dined in La , the interior is very modern and the outdoor seating area is spacious and comfortable. The pork chaud is like a spiced pork patty, mixed with pate inside a puff pastry. It's a pork symphony and a must try for all pork lovers. The curry here is pretty good but nothing I haven't had before , it's all the basics and slightly above average on my opinion. The servers are very friendly and the menu looks incredible . Such a big menu that has me salivating more and more with everything I read. Cute hybrid concept that's part cafe/market and part dine-in restaurant. First time I sat on the very pretty patio for dinner and got the wonton noodle soup. I think the only thing that held it back from being perfect was the chicken felt unnecessary when there's already pork and shrimp, plus the chicken pieces were so big and there was a lot of it leftover when I was done. And I will say, if you're dining in for dinner, really the only option is to sit outside because the inside is super casual and I think just over-the-counter so in the hot/humid months the outdoor patio might not be as pleasant. I was fine with it when I went in June but my date was complaining lol. But that's on them. I enjouyed it. Second time I picked up a char siu bahn mi from the very convenient pick up window on the way to the beach which made for one of the loveliest Saturdays in recent memory. But again the bahn mi was JUST short of being perfect; I think because the bread was more like a hoagie roll than a baguette. I thought this restaurant was so cute. The parking lot is pretty small so if you come in they have additional free street parking within walking distance. I thought the menu was awesome. they have so many great options and a lot of gluten-free options as well. The Vietnamese coffee was on point. I had a vegetable dish that was so delicious! I added steamed shrimp for 6$ only complaint there is at 6$ they gave me 5 small shrimp which wasn't a good deal, it wasn't even enough shrimp to go withe the vegetables. The beef pho surprised me because I LOVE PHO, but I unfortunately disliked theirs. The beef pho had no depth of flavor. It tasted so bland. I didn't like it and my husband didn't like it. Now the beef stew had amazing and intense flavor! I highly recommend the beef stew at Alésia. It's hearty and served with rice noodles. it's so so good.
