My daughter and I went in for pedicures today. We waited for approximately 30 minutes because we did not make an appointment which is no fault of the Salon. However, we were asked several times with others waiting who was there first. We witnessed a person complaining for several minutes and stated she will never be back - a Manager (assuming) asked to speak to her outside. When we were seated, I was supposed to experience a 15 minute massage per the package I chose; however, it was more like a 9 minute massage. It was very chaotic , lots of chatter amongst staff conducting the pedicures, and the technicians kept getting out of their chairs. I recommend they have all of their tools available. Language was a definite barrier with the person doing my pedicure. Not sure if I will return because of the chaos but once again, the spacious atmosphere was a positive and they do have a private room for a group of 4 which looks nice. I originally came to this salon because I was referred to a specific nail tech. I had an appointment, rescheduled it, and when I showed up they hadn't actually updated the appointment at all. The man at the front desk clearly didn't know what he was doing and kept saying he needed to talk to the manager--who turned out to be just as unprofessional and rude. I was told I could wait about 20 minutes for the nail tech I booked. Over an hour passed. At that point, I agreed to see someone else. That technician acted annoyed the entire time, as if I was interrupting her phone call. She barely spoke to me, didn't engage at all, and made it very clear she didn't want to be doing my nails. The result was terrible. I returned the next day because the nail color looked awful, only to be told I would have to pay again to fix it. Once again, the front desk had no idea how to handle the situation. After more confusion, they finally decided the manager would redo my nails so I wouldn't be charged. Even then, the manager was visibly irritated that she had to fix them. No apology, no accountability--just attitude from start to finish. To make matters worse, I had a translation device with me and could understand that staff were complaining about customers throughout the entire visit. This salon is extremely unprofessional, disorganized, and disrespectful to customers. I will never return and do not recommend it to anyone. read more

Had the 24 Golden Pedicure with Hailey today and it was wonderful. The massage is timed and although she had to get up and do various things throughout, she went over on the time which makes up for it. The massage is no joke, it feels like a deep tissue massage. It also includes a couple of drinks. Vietnamese coffee was very good, just a little on the sweet side. They had a YouTube station with great music playing the entire time and made for a great ambiance. Would highly recommend Hailey and will definitely return! read more

The pedicure lady did not do a good job. I don't think I need to tell a worker how to do their job correct. She put the nail polish before even scrubbing my feet. She kept going back to fix the polish. She didn't scrub at all. Didn't file, only tapped my toe nails with the file. When I asked why she was doing the polish first, she seemed frustrated to respond why she was doing that. Picture shows my toe with callous, not touched at all. To start this is my 3rd time here and the 1st 2 times I had a much better experience. Unfortunately, I did not get this techs name as she didn't talk to me much. I understand that everyone has different capabilities which is why at the beginning I showed her the picture and asked if it was possible and said if it wasn't I would pick something else. She said she could do all but the checkered thumb so I thought that's fine! She had me pick colors and write them down. She went to get the colors and came back without one I requested and with a different number and then told me I didn't pick a certain color. She did the flowers and when I asked her to fix them and pull all the dots into the center like the flowers in the picture she said she would do it later, and then at the last second instead of doing that she added different colors in the center and changed the type of flower. They don't look bad just weren't what I asked for. Then with the smiley face it felt like she didn't take her time with them and they are chunky and uneven. Then when it came time to do the clouds she said she couldn't do them and claimed she said in the beginning she couldn't (but if that's the case I would have chosen a different design cause I was most excited about the clouds, and why did she paint it all blue like she was going to do the cloud design?). At some point she even said "I know they don't look good". It wasn't a terrible experience and they aren't the worst but I left feeling disappointed and wished when I asked at the beginning if it wasn't something she could do she was honest and said no I would've just done pastel tips Unfortunately, I did not have the time to have them fixed or redone. Before this, I had never left a review anywhere. But if you're thinking about going to Alta Nails for a pedicure, you should ABSOLUTELY go... if you want to lose your toenails. I went with two friends to get the "full experience" everyone is posting about on TikTok. First red flag: they don't actually have alcohol like everyone claims. The drinks were cute, but it was misleading, they only offer wine and champagne. Not what's being hyped online. When we walked in, they started on all three of us separately, so we all finished at different times. (Mind you, we had made a reservation for 3 almost 5 days before we went in for the vip room). The lady doing my pedicure clearly didn't know what she was doing, she kept asking another employee what to do and didn't even know how to turn the water on. My pedicure took almost 3 hours. She cut almost every single toe. The massage was good, I'll give them that, but that's the only positive. Fast forward: one of my friends lost her entire big toenail a couple weeks ago, and today I lost half of mine. This has NEVER happened to me before. On top of that, all of our nails started chipping just days later. To make it worse, when it was time to pay, my friend tipped in cash. She gave a $50 bill and asked for $40 back. The employee came back with only $10 in ones. My friend was too shy to say anything. This was genuinely the worst nail experience I've ever had. Do not believe the fake reviews or social media hype, they pay people to say good things. Save your $90 and go somewhere else. read more

This place is a nightmare. They start your nails and then leave you stranded with your nails half done to help other customers, and rush through your nails doing really inconsistent work. I've given them a few tries and despite their awesome atmosphere I would never go back. They don't want to turn down customers and I get that but it's so inconsiderate of peoples time. My fill took two hours here because they kept getting up and leaving me without explanation or comment to help do pedicures right in front of me on the other side of their salon. read more

I've gone to this place 4x and was disappointed each time I went. I really wanted to like this place cos it's across the street from where I live. So I thought it would be very convenient. Also the shop is new and looked really nice inside. But every time I've gotten my nails done here I just felt so rushed and the quality of their work just gets worst and worst every time I came back. Not a single tech that did my nails from the 4x I've been there did a good job. The last time I went I showed the lady the color I wanted from my phone (which is just like a deep maroon color) and she gave an attitude and told me to only pick from the book and kind of tossed the book at me. I made an appointment online and when I got there they told me that they didn't check their online appointments and that my nail technician already had an appointment booked with another client. They wanted me to go with another technician and I refused as I always go with this specific one. Also the prices that are online are outdated according to the manager onsite and they overcharged me. I had seen this in TikTok about a cute nail shop near my home, (I'm still new to rancho San Diego). I called prior to see if I could make an appointment for a acrylic fill and pedicure. They told me to come in as no one was there and they can attend to me. I walked in and it is beautiful and the whole area was wow! I was told to sit and wait to which I waited 30 minutes before sitting in a pedicure chair and waiting an hour while the water got cold. Someone finally came and started my pedicure and she was incredibly sweet and super good at my pedicure. I did ask if I was going to have someone do my fill if they were too packed and she reassured me they could. Once finished I was told to sit again for me to wait 45 minutes, I was then told to go to a girl named mimi to do my fill. Mimi was very aggressive and kept throwing my hands and well as aggressively filing. I had ask for them to be shortened and she looked visibly agitated I had asked and still did it while again aggressively filing. I showed her the picture of what they had on their Instagram page and and she kept grabbing my phone and showing everyone in the shop. I understand if this could not have been done and totally would have accommodated what she could do and be flexible. When she was struggling, I suggested we just do the gold French and gold diamond dots all over like the one with the star but just dots. She finished my French and kept asking if we were done to which I kept repeating if we could please place the dots with the sparkles I had requested. She only placed one and I kept asking to please place more and she just said "all nails?" And I said yes dots with the sparkles on all nails, she continued to only placed one where I asked not to. And I asked if she could do more to which she said "yes all nails". I just stayed quiet and let her finish as she was not going to listen to me. She could tell I was upset and didn't even say goodbye when she was done, I thanked her and she just got up and walked to the back. They are not horrible nails but to not feel listened and just feel like she needed to get me out immediately was not ok. I called to schedule an appointment same day for my friend and I, two pedis and a classic gel mani. When we arrived we had to wait 10 min or so before the chairs were open for us. The champagne and rose pedi was nice and relaxing. I had to ask for my water temperature to be hotter and the guy adjusted it but the heat only lasted for a few minutes. The manicurist didn't start till the tail end of my pedicure service and he informed me his boss left for the day so he had to keep walking away to answer the phone and talk to staff. I understand it can be a lot to multi task but I've never had this kind of experience before. He would leave midway painting a nail or right in the middle of my massage. I think they need to hire an office assistant, it shouldn't take two hours for a gel manicure and pedicure. I know the place is new but it seemed a bit disorganized. My daughter's first time experience with the nail salon she was also impressed. I have been a returning customer because of Mimi. She is thorough and does a great job as always.
