I purchased a Groupon deal for microneedling. I called and scheduled an appointment for today June 22nd at 9am. I arrived at 8:45 am and was welcomed by receptionist and informed her that this was my first time ever having microneedling. She reassured me that I made a great decision. I was then taken into a room for pictures of my skin. After the pictures I was taken to the procedure room and did my medical assessment by zoom with the physician assistant. After being cleared the receptionist brought me a bottle water and advised me that Perla had just arrived and she would be in momentarily to go over everything. I waited less than 5 minutes and Perla came in and we had a great conversation about what I wanted to achieve with my skin and my problem areas. Perla then put numbing cream on my face and advised that she would leave it on for 15 minutes. I was really impressed because every question I had about the process she answered and explained everything step by step. After the numbing cream she cleaned my face and put on an astringent and began microneedling. I thought it was going to be painful and that I was going to bleed. It actually tickles in some areas of the face and neck but I did have a little discomfort on the forehead and nose area. After it was over Perla did show me the areas that I had some redness but stated that would go away within a few days. Perla also advised me to use tinted sunscreen and gave me her recommendations on how to care for my skin. I immediately seen a difference and will be scheduling another appointment in 6 weeks for another session. I was really satisfied and highly impressed! Oh! I almost forgot after my service was over I was trying to redeem my Groupon deal and the Groupon site was having problems. I tried to access it several times and the receptionist tried on her end to access the site and nothing was happening. After 20 minutes the receptionist inquired if I would allow her to stay logged into my Groupon and she would take care of it and call me once the payment cleared. I felt bad for leaving unsure about the payment because I had never used Groupon and wanted to make sure that the business was paid for my services. About 10 minutes after I left I received a call from the receptionist that the website was up and running and she was able to redeem the Groupon payment. Found this gem on Groupon. I usually only get my 11's done and use about 20 units, which is what this Groupon was for. They honored the price of the Groupon and I was able to pay directly at their office. Their injector, Natasha, was very personable, made sure I was comfortable with the plan and had a very soft hand. Loved the experience going to the office and getting Botox with Natasha (sp?) this afternoon! She was fantastic, informative and didn't go overboard with how many units she put into my face. She was efficient, really gentle and I felt extremely minimal discomfort ( it's needles- you're going to feel at least a little pinch- but she was super gentle with her approach!). Had a great experience, will be bringing my partner in soon (who she even let watch because he is curious about getting some Botox) for his own appointment. I saw Stella today for electrolysis and it was a nice experience. Her location is easy to find with a lot of available parking. These days, I've been finding myself waiting past my appt time for other services with other businesses, and it was nice to walk in like 5 minutes early and find that Stella wasn't still with another client. I usually get electrolysis done, but we ended up doing thermolysis since my hairs were coming out well. She explained to me that it takes less time for thermolysis and we ended up being able to zap all the hairs I wanted to, which was rare with my last electrologist. She finished the session off with applying aloe to the areas and sent me on my way. It's a little bit of a drive from where I live, but I plan to continue to see Stella. Her online booking is easy peasy, she's nice, the location is handy if you have other errands to run, and her rates are reasonable. read more

I cannot recommend this place highly enough. Stella is knowledgeable and experienced (more than 20 years!) and she's also friendly and as gentle as possible (for the service). I've been getting electrolysis from her since February. It is a slow process, and she tried her best to explain that, which is much appreciated. I will update when we are finished with our sessions, but I am confident that I will be happy and hair free within a couple more months. The location is in a quiet but accessible part of La Mesa. I came to Stella a few years ago for electrolysis treatments. She tends to over-promise and under-deliver. She looked at the area I told her I wanted completely cleared of hair and she told me it would just take 10 sessions, so I started going to her for treatments because I figured it was reasonable to go here for just 10 sessions and have all the hair permanently removed. However, I went to her for multiple sessions, we went past 10 sessions and the area was nowhere close to being cleared. I still had a ton of hair in the area. She just lied to me and promised me it would be clear because she wanted to get more customers and wanted to take my money. She had just opened the store and told me she didn't have that many clients since it was a new location. I should have known better but I was new to all of this and she took advantage of that. I was also very young so I didn't know any better. I have wasted hundreds of dollars here. I've gone to other aestheticians that also do electrolysis after Stella and they told me the work she did was not good and the method she used was deliberately slow which just takes much longer than it should and takes out less hair. I do not recommend this place at all. I've gone to aestheticians that do electrolysis way better than Stella, so I personally don't recommend her. Huge waste of money. I feel that I was basically scammed. read more

I used a groupon for a brazilian wax once and I don't think I'll ever go anywhere else again. Stella was so kind, gentle and welcoming. I was extremely overgrown and she took the time to trim, wax in small sections and clean up missed spots. She explained the uses of different waxes with different hair types and she was very careful in her work. I've never experienced such a detailed and careful wax. I was a bit concerned about the pain associated with electrolysis but surprisingly enough for ME it wasn't bad. I had no numbing cream, and took no pain meds.
