Hello Nick, Well with the combination of using the garbage and your sticky planks we caught that fat rat. He is now in the garbage can in a about 6 bags with a sticky board stuck to his tail. It's done finally after months. I have my traps I've set after months and didn't work. Alta pest have had their traps and did not work. Worst business out there... fraudulent practice.... on the call they will tell you just $50 for visiting your place and fixing basic pest issue and intentionally not mention that $50 is per month. they will keep charging your card for 12 months and if you call to cancel they will charge you contract cancellation as if you wanted any contract. I have been harassed twice in one week, by a solicitor from Alta even after I kindly told him I have a no solicitors sign and we also have signs saying our neighborhood is a no soliciting neighborhood! We now have to remove all of the insulation in our basement and attic because they didn't treat for the mice inside of our home. They didn't send out the rodent inspector until we were 8 months into our contract. Now, we have insulation damage and mice. The solution was to hire them to come and remove/replace the insulation that was ruined because they didn't do their job in mitigating the rodent problem in the first place. This company has hired the most polite and courteous employees, but as far as their work...100% would not recommend! Pay more for Orkin/Purcor and make sure the job is complete. read more

Manager Tim of the old Seattle branch is an open misogynist as well as overall terrible person. They openly brag about acting, keyword on acting, professional in front of others while insulting them in private. He badly talks about clients behind their backs as well as his teammates behind closed doors, apparently even in front of clients, which horrifies me. Overhearing them, the company, apparently, VERY purposefully attempted to not pay their employees a livable wage. It's why they had to move their company headquarters to Auburn, WA so quickly. Look up the lawsuit and consider that Tim is not the only rotten part of the company since the company is a large national thing and likely helped cover this manager's wrong-doing. Furthermore, their pushy sales people lie about the quality and type of service being provided, and the technicians sent out are trained in only a few weeks with no real support other than a photocopied 'guidebook' that asks them to look it up online. It's sad to watch the technician fumble in their guidebook for half an hour just to apply a single drop of a product that didn't work before and will continue to not work since they have over used it previously. They say they are low cost, but they will lock you into a service contract for 12 months or more, even though you'll only receive 4 services in a year you will be paying every month which means it's not very cost effective in the end for single pest control use. The poor technicians have to try to cover for their management, sales people, and poor training they are provided as well as manage expectations of the company and their clients. I guess that's why the technician was different every time. No way they can be retaining people with this sort of nonsense happening. read more

Shaine with Alta Pest Control was very polite and committed to quality work by his team. He knew what to inspect for pests inside our home that other prior pest control companies did not do. I am glad I switched to Alta Pest Control this year. They discovered mice in our attic. Solicitors from this company have visited our neighborhood MULTIPLE times in the past weeks. They argue with residents that they are not solicitors, just "letting you know we are in the area" and continue going door to door, despite the permanent sign with the PCC posted at the entrance that this is a NO SOLICITING neighborhood. Our neighborhood watch page has been in constant conversation about how frequently and repeatedly they're disturbed at home by the "not solicitors". We have all told everyone we know not to use this company because apparently if you do, they will harass all your neighbors endlessly. The neighbors are now looking into if we can file an official complaint with the PCSD or the BBB in hopes of being able to have some peace and quiet. read more

As other reviewers have commented the sales people are very pushy. I reluctantly signed a 1year contract because I was having a recurring ant and rodent problems. The sales person told me rodent was covered to find out that it was not covered months after signing the contract. They also will not spray under the den and on the eves using the ladder. Moreover, they can inly be there if the home owner is present making appoints extremely difficult and limited. So many fine prints I was never aware of before signing the contract. What the present as good service is inadequate. They started in May 2024 and their service has declined since then. I've had pest control for 30 years. I'll give Alta a rating of one. They have you sign a contract and when you cancel they charge back the discount. However, their level of service is below what they promise. Their technicians perform rote service. Someone came to my door from Alta, starting my dogs off at 8PM when they knocked on the door.. tried to chat me up and I asked what he was selling because I wasn't interested. He says to me "what you have guard dogs in there"? And I said "You have 10 seconds to leave". And then tried to tell me how I should be a nicer person.... When you're knocking on MY door at night...? You think you can tell ME how to behave?? I told him walk off and don't come back. And then I'm called by racial epithets and my life was threatened.... Yea I'm never going to do business with people who send punks out to drum up business by threat of bodily harm. read more

We are new customers with Alta Pest Control. I am very pleased with our first service treatment. The Technician "Calvin" was extremely detailed and thorough on the provided service treatment provided. He answered all my questions, provided quality service and was very professional. He found 2 wasps nest in the eves which I was not aware of. We had the mosquito treatment done as well. Hoping it helps control for this summer on the patio. read more

First treatment I noticed no reduction in pests. Second treatment was during a rainstorm. The only picture the tech took was from inside his car looking out at the rainstorm. Surprise no reduction in pest. I complained about the tech and got no response or offer to retreat. After two weeks I called to cancel. Had to talk to three different people to cancel and it took over 15 mins. Was then billed $240 extra dollars saying I broke the contract. I believe they did since the pest were not controlled. The wasp nest and dirt Dober nest was never taken down. $496 for one treatment! Second treatment was washed out. read more

someone from Alta knocked on my door say they are having service in my neighborhood so they are willing to charge me 50 dollars for one time service. I took it to be good to the young man then one month later I got scheduled for continuous service which they are going to charing me 90 dollars per month for another 11 months or charge me another 225 dollars for offset the first time service to close my account. this is fraud and cheating. Alta Pest Control has been our pest control company for a year now. We haven't had any complaints and have nothing but a great experience. The office always sends out an text a week before a servicing and another text a dat or so before the technicians arrives. I had a spider issues arise and a bee issue arise and Alta Pest Control scheduled an appointment to come out and address our issues right away; my husband is very allergic to bees. I've had service for 5-6 months now for ants. The ants are not going away. So we set up a heavy treatment. They came by once every 2 weeks for 6 weeks. Guess what. Still have ants. I heard one of the gentlemen mention to his partner they use Terro. The same stuff you get from Lowe's, Amazon, etc I already tried those products and many more. I typically do my own pest control and have for many years. But the problem was so bad I had to call for pest control. I would give this company 0 stars if I could. They are not professional. I have issues with Alta's business practices. It starts with their lying door to door sales people. They tell you they are taking care of your neighbors, specifically by name. But when you talk to these neighbors they have been providing service for, you hear "I told them to leave" or something similar. Of the 3 neighbors I was told they were taking care of, all 3 of those neighbors when I went and checked a week later ALL 3 said they were annoyed by the sales person going door to door, and told them to kick rocks. Secondly, because I did not do my due diligence, as we had a problem with spiders and ants, and I needed someone anyway, I went ahead with signing up. In 10 months, they have had a "tech" come here to do service 2 other times. The 3rd one is supposed to happen this coming saturday. Meanwhile, we never saw a decrease in the spider activity other than the typical decrease thru winter time. You won't hear anything from them, unless your payment doesn't go thru for some reason. Mine didn't, due to a job loss. I let them know this. I got a canned response "We will be happy to work with you", and then they continued resubmitting payment to my bank multiple times a day until we had money in the account for mortgage to clear and they got their money. Also, I have communicated that I DO NOT WANT my service to automatically continue after the year is up. The response I get is "If you don't call us it will automatically renew". I don't want to call you. I don't have anything nice to say. Especially now that even though you said you would work with me, you processed a payment and then my mortgage check didn't go thru because of it. Steer clear of businesses like this. I knew better, as I have NEVER bought anything from a door-2-door sales person before. But it was convenient at that moment, and let my guard down. It was a mistake. There are plenty of local small pest control type businesses that will take much better care of you, and won't require a year long contract. I apologize for this long winded review. I never do these. SCAM/FRAUD ALERT My experience with Alta Pest Control was anything but professional or pleasant. They attempted to scam us out of $20K by fabricating claims of a rodent infestation in my family's home. This deceitful behavior is unethical, unprofessional and possibly criminal. My wife and I were existing customers with Alta when they offered a free crawl-space and attic inspection which we took them up on. After the inspection the salesperson proceeded to tell my wife that we a had severe rodent infestation and would need immediate work done for our family's health and safety. We were given a quote just under $20K and were pushed to the front of the line, and Alta would have a crew out immediately to resolve our emergent problem. The day of the service, which would include removing and replacing all of our insulation Alta shows up in a tiny pickup. RED FLAG My wife then asks the workers that showed up to take new photos of our crawl space and evidence of rodents and lo and behold they don't match the photos the sales person showed us originally. RED FLAG My wife then tells the workers she doesn't feel comfortable with them doing any work in our home and calls the sales person up to let them know we wouldn't using their service. This conversation turned into a hostile high pressure argument in which the sales person insisted that "if we got a second quote he would match it, and you just let his crew do the work". RED FLAG Since this we have had Rambo Pest Control come out and let us know what we suspected, that we don't have any rodent activity in our home. We have canceled all of our services with Alta and would strongly recommend you look else where to avoid potentially getting scammed. read more

(TL;DR - Shady business, don't even reach out for a quote) I asked for a quote on pest control services a few months back on thumbtack and never used their services and they didnt even show up for any onsite consultation, moved forward with some other contractor. Now in their system they are charging me a recurring fee and they keep sending me reminder emails, texts and voicemails. I have called them multiple times and they told me just ignore them or they will put me on hold for a customer service representative which is just some elevator music for hours. How can I ignore if I'm getting phone calls every other day not to forget text messages and emails as well. I was visited by an Alta sales rep at my front door today. I don't participate in any door to door business, so I quickly told the sales rep "no thank you," and began to go back inside my house. The sales rep then reached her arm out and said "okay, who are you currently getting service from?" I again accused myself and had to walk away while they were still talking.
