The service here is great! If you're looking for a good market to find halal meat this is the place for you. The prices are reasonable and they clean the meat really well. I personally don't like when lamb has a lot of fat on it. The butcher was able to cut most of the fat off for me. I really appreciated it. This store has almost anything you'd need for middle eastern or south Asian cooking. However, the parking lot is a little tight. Make sure to come early! read more

Haven't been to this store in along time, because of a previous incident. Went again and I continue to have horrible customer service, by the cashiers. So sad to have had yet another horrible experience. Overall, rude and definitely reminded me why I stopped shopping there. So sad because the butchers and the other employees are so kind. I recently read about green almonds and wanted to try them. I spent quite a bit of time searching and could not find anyplace local that had them. I posted an inquiry on a local community message board and someone recommended Altayebat Market. I called and low and behold they said they had them. When I arrived, I was surprised that they were fresh and not a bagged product. I was even more surprised that they were only $1.29/pound! I wanted to love this place so bad!!! Being in Lil Arabia, Anaheim, there's no cultural grocer market. There's shops here & there but no grocery store... except this one? Only 10 people were being let in at a time which is annoying.. but actually I didn't mind since the inside of the store is SO small. It's very crammed & it's like the size of a bigger convenience store lol. The inside is dingy, old, & needs a major facelift. There are some good products here & there. The meat department is lacking!!! I was going to pick up chicken but no way I'll go up the street for that. There was interesting finds in the meat department, lamb brain, lamb fat, lamb kidney, lamb heart, which I haven't seen in stores on the shelf before. One thing though.. the spices! They were all decently priced! & all laid out nicely & priced! I would for sure come back here for spices. I guess I was expecting more... something bigger with variety like Pioneer Cash & Carry in Artesia. Don't think I'll be back visiting anytime soon. Excellent middle eastern grocery store friendly help and good produce. I seldom go though as it's far from my home.

TLDR: Instacart messed up my order and the store owner helped give me clarification, great customer service I ordered through Instacart and I couldn't believe this happened. I initially ordered 4 different types of meats. One of which (lamb) was out of stock so that is no problem. The chicken I had ordered came perfectly and it was perfectly weighed. The third was 1lbs seasoned ground beef for kofta. The fourth item was supposed to be 2lbs seasoned beef sirloin meat for kebabs. Instead of getting the sirloin meat, I got 2lbs of the ground beef for kofta. So now I have 3lbs of ground beef. Now hold your horses, I understand, "It's just some extra meat, they probably gave the wrong bag to your instacart person". I would love to believe that as well because it would be an understandable issue. However, when looking at the prices (see pictures #1 & #2), same item name, same identification number, however different pricing. If this confusion can be cleared up then that would be great since I don't think that the store itself would be trying to scam people, I don't think there was any ill intentions either. Very bad customer service, the way they treat their customer is unprofessional. especially from the manager, Alaa, who lacks basic customer service and interpersonal skills and treated customers disrespectfully. A manager should be more considerate of customers' needs, or perhaps they should reconsider their role. Came here to get spices and they have a great section. I want to explore more but from the few times I came, the workers and very nice and want to help you get in and out quickly whether helping you find what you need or opening a register if a line is forming. My mom went to this store as a kid with her parents and we had to continue to tradition. The hour drive was totally worth this classic Arabic grocery store in the heart of Anaheim , California. You will find a lot of your needs for Arabic dishes and good brands that you can't find at Walmart or other grocery stores. The owner was extremely helpful and walked us through how to make an online meat order on their website . He even offered to hold our order in the fridge while we continued to shop in the area. These workers went the extra mile to make sure you were taken care of, they even help you carry your groceries to your car. Used to come here a lot when I lived closer but was able to finally visit yesterday after years. I loved that they only let 10 people in at a time. I can see that being annoying if there's a long line but I came at 10 AM on a Monday and was the first in line waiting to enter. With the current pandemic, I appreciated them limiting how many people can be inside since it's hard to maintain six feet distance from others when shopping. They have an extensive variety of middle eastern foods and grocery. I was looking for ingredients to make knafeh and found everything I needed, even knafe dye! The women working there that helped me were very friendly. Prices seemed reasonable as well. read more

I used Instacart today to pick up halal meat today and it was super easy and quick! The gentlemen who brought my groceries out to me was super kind and quick. I'll be doing this again soon for my next meat pickup from Al tayebat. Bonus about this for me is avoiding the aggressive aunties in the meat section lol. Great meat market in Anaheim! The meat is always fresh and high quality, and the prices are very reasonable. I'd especially recommend the marinated chicken, which is great to grill up for a quick and tasty meal. The staff are very helpful and friendly as well. And of course, the meat is all halal here so that is always a plus! I mainly go here to get meat, but they also have lots of other Arab and American snacks and staples well. Amazingly kind owner. We met Aladdin while waiting in line to go into the store. He was very nice and helpful. We miss this kind of community market where the owner actually is so kind that he brought cold water to us because it was so hot outside. The market is well stocked. The meat is high quality and the butcher, Martin,was very accommodating. We asked for a whole leg of lamb and wanted it deboned and trimmed. He did a perfect job. Always fully stocked on everything and fresh produce all the time and there meat is the cleanest and colses tasty to Palestine's meat . I can't even find the words to explain their customer service it was magnificent. Best middle eastern market in Anaheim, when I'm in Orange County I always stop by, they have everything you need when it comes to imported Middle Eastern produce, it's a little small so shopping is tight if its busy but it's still worth it for the great items they carry, it's been open for so long and family owned and everyone who works there is real helpful, if you are a first timer here don't be intimidated by how many people are inside think of it as a middle eastern bizarre and ask anybody working for help if you need it they are all helpful and wonderful and parking can be a little crazy when you pull in but if their lot is full next door is a bar called NV you can usually park there if it's filled, hope this helps you.
