I went in with my wedding dress and two of my bridesmaids last week with a laundry list of design changes I wanted to make to my dress. I bought my dress about 8 months ago, so I've had plenty of time to over analyze it and come up with reasons why it's not perfect. And here's why I'm giving Sean and his business 5 stars... He patiently listened to my wish list, and then talked me out of most of the changes I wanted to make. And I'm so glad he did! He reminded me of all the reasons I originally fell in love with and purchased my dress, and told me how lovely my dress is on me, without any alterations. He is so knowledgable in what he does, and most of the changes I wanted to make would have affected the overall integrity of my dress. Not only that, but he saved me so much money in unnecessary alterations that I ultimately may have ended up hating. I left with just having some of the beading removed, a bustle added, and a lovely and very reasonably priced veil that they are making just for me! If you want a seamstress that will blindly do as you ask without thinking of the end result, don't come here. Sean is honest, fair, knowledgeable, and has your best interest in mind. Wow! I have been using Sean at Alteration House for a little over a year for both my personal alterations and alterations for my business. I have a custom suit company and when things need tweaking or a full redo and I do not want to ship them back to the factory in Asia, Sean is up for the challenge. Not only is he fully competent to make the alterations, they look as good if not better than what the initial product looked like. You will be hard pressed to find any evidence that your item has been altered except that it fits to a tee! There are times when I have needed an item super fast and he has surprised me with how quickly he can turn an item around. AlterationHouse is amazing! I had a bridesmaid dress that was 2-3 sizes too big. It had an open back and seemed like it would be impossible to fit my size. It was too close to the wedding to reorder another dress that took 6 months to initially receive. Sean remade my dress piece by piece to fit me. He altered the braless cup size, straps, and armpits. He brought in the bodice of the dress to fit seam by seam since the dress couldn't be pulled tighter around because of the open back. Sean was very understanding and reassured me he could make my dress fit my body and he did a perfect wonderful job. Sean is very skilled and precise. My dress was very complex and detailed. Sean worked some serious magic to do last minute alterations on my wedding dress! I am so impressed. I went to him prior to my first wedding date to get the bust of my dress altered, and when I went back, the dress fit like a glove. We had to postpone the BIG wedding due to covid, so I decided to do a small ceremony with a different dress until next year. 2 days before the wedding I decided I wanted to wear my dream dress, but still needed it hemmed! I called Sean and he was able to get me an appointment the same day for a fitting, and he had it altered to perfection two days later for my wedding. Amazing! I needed to get a chiffon bridesmaids dress taken in a full size and hemmed. Brought it over to him and first day I didn't have the shoes but he was so understanding and let me know I could come back whenever. Brought the dress up and in all over within 5 days and with excellent work - I was super nervous it wouldn't turn out well just because the dress was so big but it looks perfectly fit to me now! Could not be happier and he was so nice and accommodating through the whole process! Didn't pressure me at all to do the whole dress, was very sincere in "if you just want to hem it I'll hem it, if you want more I'll do more - whatever you want" On the expensive side but I completely believe you get what you pay for and he totally delivered! read more

I can't say enough about how amazing Alteration House is. I brought in a bridesmaid dress that needed hemming and adjustment up top as it kept falling down. Sean took his time and provided me with multiple options on how he could change the design for the top of the dress. I've been to many different alteration places and have finally found someone I can trust. There is privacy for you to try on clothes and you don't have to worry about other people walking in the door because he works out of his garage. The garage is air conditioned and a nice environment. I've been meaning to make this review for a few weeks, and I'm making sure I do it because of just how amazing this guy is. I came in and put on the wedding dress. He took a look at what needed to be done and essentially said not much unless you want to hem the dress for your feet. Because my dress is huge it would've been a bit costly since the dress had seven layers. He was honest and said that I really didn't need it and if it was his daughter he'd tell her it was just one night, there's really no need. This man isn't in this for the money. He's honest and extremely nice (where do you even find that anymore). He didn't make me feel uncomfortable and was very informative. I would recommend him to anyone. read more

Incredible!!! We were in a pinch as when we put on the shoes the jumpsuit was too long!!! We started to panic because we needed to wear the jumpsuit for an event in less than 24 hours. Sean, at the Alteration House, did a fantastic job "fixing" my two dresses. On one, he replaced the hem which had come out halfway. On the other, he fixed the gaping underarm on a sleeveless dress. The original reason I chose this place was the location-it was a few blocks from my house. Upon picking up the finished product, the work looked fantastic! I was so impressed- I needed help get a dress altered at the last minute for a friend's wedding.
