I went to Sarah's to get my suit altered. I was in a wedding and being a man. I waited until the last minute. I called Sarah up. She was very friendly and said that she could get it done by the weekend if I took it to her that same day I live in ROUND ROCK. She's in North Austin. I put the directions in and it took me right to her. Her shop is in a multilevel type shopping center, but on the first floor in the back I will post pictures to make it easier to find her shop. She's very nice and very accurate on her measurements to alter my suit. Her pricing is very reasonable and she did it quickly. When I went back to pick up my suit. It was Taylor perfectly just in time for the wedding. I was in. Well, I don't recommend waiting until the last minute. If that does happen, Sarah is a perfect shop to go to. Was pretty expensive IMO and my drop sleeves on bridesmaid dress were different lengths. Even though i asked her at the alteration appointment if she needed to measure the other side in the moment and she said no she would do that after cutting. I trusted her but after picking up dress and trying it on at home (was not told or offered to try on there), i noticed they were different but it wasn't bad enough to drive back to get fixed as I live 45 minutes away. Total for fixing 4 straps (main straps and drop straps) and adding a slit was nearly $300. Friend had her straps altered on her bridal dress and bussels added and it was $600. Don't know if ill use her again just based on cost and distance. Actual alterations were okay aside from the different lengths of sleeves. read more

Sara's Alterations did not disappoint! I contacted her in January for my vow renewal in March after four other alteration shops told me they couldn't work on my dress because of the pearl embellishments. Sara looked at it and immediately said she could do it. My dress was originally a pearl maxi dress, but I had a vision of adding tulle with a long train for my beach vow renewal in Hawaii. Sara brought that vision to life beautifully. I had several fittings, and she was always professional, patient, and attentive to what I wanted while also giving helpful professional advice. Sara saved our tournament weekends. Every baseball season our son complains about his pants being too long. Even when we shorten them he will complain about how wide they are at the ankle. Sara was able to shorten and taper the legs removing all complaints and maintaining the custom stripe on the outside of the leg. She did them timely and was very easy to work with. Sara ruined my cocktail dress even though she has rave reviews for work on complex wedding dresses. I had hoped she could be my go-to tailor, but now I'm afraid to bring anything else to her. Check my photos to see how different my dress ultimately turned out. I'm short and the skirt needed shortening. I brought it in on Feb 16 & told Sara I wasn't in a rush so she could take her time. She told me it would be ready by Mar 28 and she would call if done before. I never heard from her, so 1st week of April, I called to confirm the dresses were ready, and after that call, I get a text saying I could pick it up. On Apr 8, I went to pick up my dresses. When I tried this one on, my heart sank. There were SO many things wrong: 1. Sara had cut the skirt shorter but she didn't do anything to the lining. The underskirt was still hitting below my knee! 2. It's an asymmetrical dress, and she made it even more asymmetrical by cutting it crooked! The shortest point was above my left knee instead of being centered. 3. The two sides of the dress were noticeably different lengths. The left side reached just below my knee and the right side hit mid-calf. I wish I had a picture to show the poor workmanship but I was so shocked, I stumbled out of the changing room and Sara had started pinning things up before I could think to take a pic. But you can get an idea from my second photo. To her credit, Sara didn't argue about the poor job and immediately started brainstorming ways to fix it, and she was patient with me while I stared at the mirror trying to decide which I preferred. She fixed the issues with no additional charge; I had only paid the 50% deposit and she erased the remaining 50% despite needing to do more work. She told me to give her a week to make the fixes and she would call when ready. I didn't hear from her for 1.5 weeks so finally called on Apr 21 to check the status. She told me she would call me back and after 2 hrs, called to say it was ready for pickup. Overall, I've been really disappointed by the experience. My dress is wearable but completely different from what I wanted; instead of a dramatically asymmetrical dress, I have one that looks like it was cut slightly crooked. And even though I gave Sara way more time than busy brides normally give her, I'm not sure she actually did any work until I called each time after the deadline SHE gave me. She always seemed surprised and had to call me back later to say "Yes, you can come now." The only reason this review isn't 1 star is bc the two cheap maxi dresses I brought in at the same time turned out fine. Sara charged me $18 each to shorten the straight hem by a few inches. I know running a business is hard and would like to support her, but I genuinely don't feel confident bringing any more clothes to her in the future. read more

I just dropped in with 5 pair of slacks needing hems, and was met with a condescending attitude because I didn't have an appointment. Then was told (again) because I "didn't have an appointment" it would be at least two weeks. Not sure about the quality of the work, but if you're giving this place a try, maybe you should make an appointment (and check your expectations for friendly service at the door). read more

Her price was reasonable, and another tailor I consulted said their machines couldn't handle the cushion thickness and I would need to go to an upholsterer. The only downside was it took 4 weeks to get the cushions back because it was prom season and that is her busiest time of year. Also, when I dropped them off she said to text her in 2 weeks to check the status, and when I did, her response was rather rude (attached here). As a bachelor, I'm not very good at mending or even sewing on a button. Sara Tailoring is near my office, so I took in a jacket for mending and putting a button back on. I was told to come back the next day, and true to her word, the jacket was fixed perfectly. I should mention that this is an expensive, water-proof rain jacket with a Goretex lining. I was, initially, concerned that mending would damage this lining, but this was not the case. I'll never take anything to be mended to another shop. Sara was PERFECT. It bears mentioning that while I was at the shop, I saw many wedding dresses, presumably for brides to pick up. These dresses were beautiful, and the attention to detail was amazing. read more

The two jumpsuits I got back were fine. I think she took in a little on each side. But, this is how my jeans came back in January. I told her how they were meant to be super form-fitting skinny jeans with "skinny" in the design's name. They now have this weird, chunky, misshapen, asymmetrical, saggy figure, and look worse than when I brought them in. This was a trial run before I brought it more clothes, and based on this poor craftsmanship and the additional money I will lose fixing it elsewhere, I would not go back or recommend. read more
