I was in complete awe with her. She is a life saver. I was in a wedding in September and yes waited until the DAY BEFORE to alter my dress. Could you imagine the bridezilla nightmare had I not found this marvelous women. I had so much going on the month before this wedding and I thought buying 4 inch heals would work . But lucky me she was willing to fix my dress that day!! In 2 hours! This is unheard of. Not only that but it was a sequence dress which means she had to do it by hand. Highly recommended...the owners are extremely friendly and made me feel right at home. First impressions are important when it comes to friendships, relationships, even in attracting clients for your business, which is why I am only giving Austin Alterations one measly star. Normally I don't like to review a place until after service has been rendered, but the customer service sucked so bad that I decided not to have my dress altered at this place. The assistant is super friendly, but it was the seamstress that had attitude, and since she would be the one working on my dress, I didn't want to have anything to do with her. This isn't about the pricing either - although the quote she gave me seemed really high - if she was friendlier and helpful, then I would've been willing to pay the price that she asked for. I'm shocked that the 10 Yelp reviews on here were all five stars. Maybe this place is under new management, or maybe they're all friends of the owner because my experience was nothing like these other reviews. I will def tell all of my friends to avoid this place like the plague. read more

yelp sent me here! dropped 2 shirts (sleeve tapering) and a pair of pants (tapering, hem) on Monday and absolutely had to have them back by Friday. got them back and they were good to go. my first time going to get alterations so i'm not sure if prices were good or not, but it seems to be a small business so i was glad to patronize. only thing that could've been better is the lady letting me know i also needed to sleeves shortened. so although they did a good job on what i asked, i wish i got it all done at once. read more

Had my first ever clothing almost failure late last week. I purchased a bridesmaid dress online and it got here 4 days before the wedding. Okay, cool. Cutting it a little tight for my comfort, but I have the dress. I try on the dress and it in no way shape or form fits me. Enter panic mode. I call an alteration place in Round Rock where I live and was told they were busy and to call back later. Yeah, okay, definitely not. I call this place, tell them I have a wedding in 4 days and the dress doesn't fit and I need it to fit. They tell me to come on in that day if I can and off I go. The lady is just the SWEETEST little lady ever, she chit chatted with me and made me feel so comfortable being there even though my dress was a million sizes too small and i was just a horrible sight to see. She explained what she was going to do and how much it is going to be and assured me 5 times it will be ready in time for the wedding. Probably won't need an alteration done too often, but I can guarantee they are getting my business from now on. read more

Wow, they have done an EXCELLENT job on my 3 suits that was too big on me. They basically custom the suits to my body type. The price is very fair and they even gave me a discount and did not charge me rush for a 4 days turnaround. The staffs are very friendly and easy to work with. I will bring all my alterations to them from now on. I have tried other places and was very disappointed on their work. I'm a very picky person when it comes to my cloths. I was so pleased with the services here! I brought in my wedding dress to have the sides taken in and the hem shortened. The hem was complicated and she did a wonderful job. Had my first fitting after a week and the whole thing was done in less than two weeks. I would highly recommend Austin Alterations to anyone. The people were perfectly nice but my jeans are WAY too short. They were supposed to be hemmed for 2 inch heels. They could stand to be a little longer even w/ my ballet flats so they look ridiculous w/ any heel even a small one. I feel like my NICE jeans were just a waste now. read more
