I needed a dress altered - it looks almost like a halter with an overlapping V in the front, and deep cut armholes. wasn't sure what could be done to alter the bust due to the design as it was too loose on me. but since I could not return the dress, I thought may as well try getting it altered even if the end result didn't work out. Bali was a life saver!! I received some clothes (a lehenga & a beautiful kurta set) from India for a wedding about 1 week before we had to leave the country. I was in dire need for some alterations, but I had no experience with the styles and knowing what length would look nice or exactly how to shorten the pieces. I put on the lehenga, and Bali immediately began pinning the length for the alteration. She knew exactly what length would look nice with the heels I brought. There were three layers in this skirt, and it turned out perfectly! The kurta set was more complicated - the pants were wide legged, draping beautifully, so that it is skirt like. It had multiple layers. I also needed it to be shortened, and luckily since it was high waisted, Bali was able to remove the excess from the waistband (a bit more complicated, but much nicer than removing the design at the feet). The third piece to be altered was a long top that draped beautifully over the pants making the entire outfit like a gown. I picked up all pieces less than a week later, and everything turned out amazing! Might I add, it is wedding season, and nearly every other alterations shop I called could not fit me in. Bali runs this little business and she is amazing! Like other reviewers have noted, she's kind and does an amazing job with alterations at a price that won't cost half your paycheck. I came here with a bridesmaid dress that needed to be taken in at the sides - a pleated chiffon dress from Azazie. After talking to Bali on the phone, we set up an appointment for that afternoon. The appointment took about 5-10 minutes for her to pinch around the sides and mark it with a few safety pins. (This was markedly less alarming then my experience at Nordstrom's alterations where the tailor used pins - not safety pins - to mark all along the sides which left me feeling like I had to free myself from a porcupine attack). The price she quoted was very reasonable, even with a expedite fee. Just four days later, she texted each saying the dress was ready for pick up. I tried it on and I thought it looked fantastic and beautifully tailored. I'll definitely come back to Bali the next time I need anything done!
