I walked in on a Wednesday morning in a panic as my bridesmaids dress wouldn't zip all the way because it was a bit too tight. The wedding was that Saturday and I was leaving town Thursday so I needed my dress fixed and ready by Thursday afternoon. Nam was extremely helpful and got the job done perfectly for me! He quickly had me try it on, he measured then I left nervous that the dress wasn't fixable. I came back on Thursday and tried the dress on again - it looked absolutely flawless! I took two dresses to Annie for alterations. The first dress was a little snug, and I was hoping to let it out. Although Annie said it could be done, the work, restructured seams and price were not really cost effective. I appreciated her honest recommendation. The second dress needed to be pulled up in the arms and brought in through the waist and thighs. It was also a rush. Not only did she have it done faster than expected, when I picked it up, the fit was absolutely perfect. I would not change a thing about it. Took my velvet dress in on Monday and said I needed it by Saturday as I needed it for my company Christmas party Nam said no problem. Returned on Saturday and Nam said oh no next Saturday. I said no my party is tonight. He said come back at 4 which was really cutting it short for me as the party was up in Los Angeles. Grabbed the dress without trying it on and Nam said if it wasn't right to bring it back and he'd fix it (oh great you know it's not going to be right). Disaster the buttons he put on DID NOT line up with the button holes he made!!! The problem is he makes you prepay for the work so when I took the dress back he said it would be more money. He ruined the dress and was very defensive and was yelling at me the minute he saw the dress again. Would definately not recommend this place. The lady who use to own it was a miracle worker which is why I went there. read more

I have to agree that Nam is the best- a tailoring expert! Nam tailored two pairs of trousers which was not easy due to the pockets and decorative stripe down the side of each leg. I needed the pants taken in around the waist and all down the backs of the pant legs; the pants were simply too big (and too cute to return). Nam tailored the pants to fit me perfectly while maintaining symmetry of the pockets and stripes. Nam is also professional and very friendly- I highly recommend him. read more

I had always been attached to a tailor across the street from my childhood home in Fountain Valley but it became a hassle to drive out of the way from my new place if I needed a hem or slight alteration. Well, the day finally came when I was in desparate need of DAY OF alterations hours before a wedding. I found this place on Yelp and gave it a go. He's Vietnamese (Woo! Bonus points for finding someone who can banter with me in my native tongue...) and so sweet. I mean it. In this case, I dropped off my dress with my emergency timeline and he told me to come back in two hours: I had the dress by the wedding reception!! Later in the fall, I had found this nice $5 trenchcoat at a warehouse sale that was way too large. I took it in and he was so honest; he told me it just simply wasn't worth the $80 to take it all in since it was supposed to have been a budget find. I realized this was true and ended up rocking the trench with a belt before selling it to Crossroads. Besides that, he's helped with my husband's coat that we found at the Long Beach flea market and had it readied by the time we went to Europe for the winter.
