This is a Charmingly cozy café, set in a historic building, with friendly service. Generous tasty portions, and unique homemade baked goods are its claim to fame. As I savored my wise choice of the steak & cheese hoagie, the tantalizing smell of bacon urged me to order more. It's a shame the limited space in my stomach had to veto that desire. The grilled cheese and tomato soup choice was traditional comfort food at its best, my daughter enjoyed it. My husband spiced it up with a chipotle chicken wrap and said it was great. Oh my yum! I had the French toast breakfast sandwich with sausage. It was so good! The place is super cute and has a lot of seating. I came here with a group of people for breakfast. The guy at the cashier was super nice. It's a little pricey, but, I would definitely go back. I took one star off as the menu is difficult to read because of the font. The first time I stopped in here, my friend and I happened to show up (unknowingly) 7 minutes before closing; we were greeted by friendly faces happy to serve us. Yes, since they were still open this shouldn't be a big deal, but I've definitely been to places where they either closed early or were less than happy to see you walk in so close to closing time. I didn't want to leave a review on just this experience, so I waited until we visited again about a week ago. We had a group of 4 people who got food and drinks. Everyone was pleased with their orders, which included avocado toast, a roast beef sandwich and a white chocolate latte. I had a steak breakfast wrap loaded with steak, veggies, eggs and Gouda cheese. It was so good! I also had a hazelnut caramel frappe which was not too sweet and quite tasty. The restaurant (bathroom included) was nicely decorated and clean. I will definitely be back! I also noticed they have a decent amount of vegan options and had old coffee grounds and egg shells for people to take for their compost... This is something that I have never seen before and it is awesome to reduce waste and help others out! read more

I have been coming here weekly nice middle school and now as a senior in high school I have said several times my college town needs a place similar to alternatives. Famiky of 4 stopped by this gem while biking the Erie Cana path, we left impressed on so many levels. Great variety of unique options for breakfast & lunch, kids had a French toast sandwich with eggs & the options of meat, fresh bagel with egg, cheese & ha,m, wife had a yogurt bowl full of blieberries, strawberries, granola, i had a breakfast bowl with some of the best shredded homefires ion the bottom, eggs, my choice of vegetable, cheese & bacon & toast. ,The person at the counter was very helpful, and personable as she informed me that i could have soy milk, oat milk or coconut milk added instead of milk to my fresh, excellent coffee. Carnivores, omnivores, vegetarians & vegans will be satisfied with the variety of options in this charming large space decorated decorated with care. Amazed that a small town is lucky enough to have a cafe that any big city would be happy to have & would charge 2 to 3 times as much as Alternate Grounds does. Man I went to a wedding at which Ian made the cake. It was a lemon raspberry cake and oh boy let me tell you, I have never tasted such a delicious wedding cake. The lemon cake was so subtly dense, with a perfect combination of flavoring and texture. As for the cream, it was so flavorful and smooth, it almost melts in your mouth bursting with flavor. Now once you mix that burst of flavor with the subtly dense cake, that's when you find out what a heavenly wedding cake tastes like. read more

Coffee is perfect, sandwiches are super yummy and the entire decor has been very tastefully done. Tons of history in the building and they have additional rooms for larger groups (reunion, anniversary, etc). Great little spot for lunch in Middleport. Not as pretentious as scripts in Lockport but same idea. Really good food and innovative combinations made for a great lunch. Good portions for the price and all around wholesome food. Any tea options can be made freshly iced which was nice. Really good bakery treats too. I stumbled upon this gem because it was recommended by a friend. It is very easy to walk right by and not even realize it's there. It appears they recently renovated and upgraded their interior decorating. It's a relatively large coffee shop with some tables and chairs, a few booths and couches. There is a second area that is currently under rennovation, but once it's done this place will be huge! It has a very classy vibe and the staff is super friendly. I'm usually hesitent to try places like this because of snobby staff/patrons but this place was so welcoming! Good vibes! I ordered a small coffee with a shot of espresso. The menu says coffee is only for those dining in, but my barista provided it in a Togo cup without hesitation. My total was $2.27 which was much less expensive than my usual Starbucks bill. I was pleased. I have not tasted the food yet, but I've heard great things. They have a small selection of wraps, sandwiches and smoothies. I'll definitely have to stop back in for lunch one day read more

This is a fabulous coffee shop in Middleport. The inside is all new - leather furniture, hardwood floors, murals, glass encased coffee beans on the counter tops - in short, a very relaxing and upscale spot. The food is great - wraps, paninis, soups, smoothies, breakfast sandwiches not to mention their cookies, ice cream and desserts. But I forgot the endless tea selection and of course, the premier coffee. I visit there daily for my cup of Jamacian Me Crazy, and frequently have lunch there. The upstairs banquet room is great for parties too - the same warm and beautifully decorated atmosphere and we have used the Wii up there for parties too - lots of fun. And now that they have their liquor license, probably even more fun. Love the place. read more

Excellent cafe! The atmosphere is classy and open-feeling. They have a great food selection - particularly recommend the gyro wrap and the reuben sandwich. The wall menu is a little confusing because it's spread out so don't miss some of the more exciting options just because all the sandwiches aren't together :) The coffee is good, and they have a selection of sweet and teas and things by the counter. I seem to be in Middleport on Sunday wishing this place was open. I would see it and peek in the window. I finally got to go for lunch. It is very cute and comfy on the inside. Tables for eating, couches around a fire place for sitting and chatting. When we walked in for lunch they didn't seem too busy and that surprised me. We ordered our lunch and sat down at a table. My friend and I loved looking around at the decor and in the bakery case. Our lunch was delicious, large portions at a reasonable price. Neither of us drink coffee so I can't comment on that. We did take some sweets to go and those were wonderful. I returned on a second visit with my husband for smoothies.... YUM! Hopefully they will stay open a long long time because Middleport needs this place. read more

I typically take my staff for lunch at the beginning of every school year but with COVID, we did boxed lunches today. Once again, excellent! Stopped here after a long bike ride on the Erie Canal. My husband had raved about this place but this was my first visit. I had a shaken ice tea with lemon. How could this be so much better than a regular iced tea???? We also shared a panini - the house special. Grilled zucchini, squash, tomatoes and onions with pesto and provolone (I think). It was served piping hot, had a delicious crispness to it from the panini press and just the right combination of flavors. Do yourself a favor if you're in Middleport and stop in for a treat. Nice quaint place in Middleport NY. Right off of the canal, the small town artisan coffee shop is an experience. I had their chili and smoked salmon, bacon, tomato, dill cream cheese, grilled panini sandwich. The chili wasn't great. The grilled panini was decent. The coffee was spot on, and the pastries are very good. They should stick to that I feel. Cool interior, and free wifi. This is the best Middleport has going for them. Worth a look, enjoy! read more
