Running through Albion, NY, with family at lunch time, my mom had a gift certificate for Village…read moreHouse Restaurant. I was pleasantly surprised, impressed with the experience! The parking lot here is plenty big and there were plenty of spots when we pulled in around 12:30pm on a Thursday. The building isn't fancy, the interior comes off a little dated (men's bathroom could use a deep clean) but it's surprisingly spacious with plenty of tables and booths. We walked in and were greeted by a friendly young woman at a counter who grabbed a couple menus and led the two of us to a booth. It didn't take long for our waitress to come over with waters and gave us a few minutes to browse the menu. Be ready to have some decision paralysis as this menu is HUGE! There're tons of sandwiches, burgers, wraps, melts, salads, entrees, etc., in addition to the daily specials. My mom had been here a few times before for work lunches, so she already knew what she wanted, but it took me a second. Our waitress was incredibly courteous, pleasant and she was plenty patient with me! Our waitress made sure to check on us periodically throughout our meal. Once our orders were placed, we sat and chatted for maybe 10-15 minutes before our food came out - I was very surprised how quick it was! For lunch, I ordered the BBQ Chicken Finger Super Melt with a side of french fries. The description of the BBQ Chicken Finger Super Melt is pretty self-explanatory: crispy chicken fingers covered in BBQ sauce, bacon, and cheddar jack cheese between grilled sourdough with a side of ranch dressing to dip in. It may sound basic, but wow, this was REALLY tasty! There had to be three or four meaty chicken fingers in there and they were fresh out of the fryer. There was a generous amount of a sweeter-style BBQ sauce on the chicken fingers but it wasn't overpowering. Between chewy and crispy, the bacon leaned chewier but still had a little crisp to it, no complaints from me. This super melt was super cheesy, delish! The cup of ranch on the side was an awesome touch - I drizzled a bit on top before each bite. And the side of french fries were excellent - Right out of the fryer hot and perfectly golden crispy, one of the better side of fries I've had in a long time. For around $13.00 (as of 05/2026), this quality and size of the melt with fries was excellent, I was perfectly full as we paid for our meal at the front counter. I'm really impressed with Village House Restaurant! It's not fancy but the staff were very friendly and the food was hot and fresh. With how expansive their menu is, I need to come back and try another sandwich, maybe a wrap, or a burger, or a...

You order your food and drinks up at the bar/counter area and then they bring the drinks and food to your table when it's ready. This did not matter to us, it was just as wonderful of an experience. The only thing I think would've been nice was to have a carafe of water & glasses on the tables. Other than that, didn't matter! The vibe was cozy, the music was a little bit odd for a Sunday brunch I think like soft jazz or something would've matched the vibe better but it was still enjoyable! The food was absolutely incredible & so were the drinks!! It was hard to not order the whole menu quite honestly. I would definitely come back here in a heartbeat. The staff were all incredibly kind! Parking was easy (though it was busy), there is a large lot. Definitely need to make reservations in advance for Sunday brunch!

Yes, it's a cute, creative concept architecturally, but the lighting was too dark for Sunday noontime. And the food and especially brunch fare were nothing special. Carb heavy and very few healthy options, although plenty of exotic drinks. Why not just be a bar and not try to be a coffee bar/cafe? Coffee was decent but not outstanding. Nothing but plain bagels available and my scrambled egg looked like something out of a Dr. Seuss story. Oh well, I did a taste test and found it WAS actually edible. My friend enjoyed her Korean Bowl, so that made the trip a success. The bathroom is the true test of quality in any culinary establishment. Fancy hand soap, Very clean, but no toilet paper or paper towels. I had to ask.

During Canada Day, Fort George has a BBQ (hamburgers and hotdogs), live music, canon performance and fireworks. This location is ideal if you want some freedom to rest / go elsewhere throughout the day. Only a 6 min walk or so from Fort George. Room: A bit dated but if you are just staying one night it's fine. I wasn't in the room much. However, traditional rooms face parking lot so I recommend asking for 3rd floor. It is a bit dark but more privacy on a higher floor. Also I think room could have been cleaner, there was a lot of dust collected by the windows. Service: Staff at hotel are quite nice and during Canada Day, they served sangria in the lobby and had some cute Canada Day sparklers, stickers, a small candy bar, etc. They also text you asking if you need anything and rate your experience with them. Amenities: On the Basement level, open 7:00am-10:30pm there is an indoor pool, jacuzzi, steam room, and gym available. By the elevators they also provided a tea/coffee bar. I went right at 7am and no one was there, nice and quiet so you have it to yourself. Another service they have is a shuttle. You can request it to take you to fort york, into the town, and other areas but it's close to a lot of places so we never ended up using this service. Overall, not a bad stay and I wouldn't mind coming back if this location was near some activities I wanted to check out like Canada Day. If just coming for a regular stay/ anniversary/ celebration - I would lean towards like deluxe rooms and above. For instance, deluxe rooms face the marina with lots of sun but only has king beds.

The opportunity finally presented itself and, overall, it was a really nice experience! Three of us had made reservations for 6pm on a Thursday and when we arrived, there were zero issues. Parking for Harvest is primarily street parking but there are smaller parking lots nearby. The interior comes across fancy, modern, with nice views of Main St. and as you walk in to the dining room, the open-kitchen to our left and a warmly lit, nicely stocked bar to our right. We were seated at a table towards the middle of the dining room. At 6pm, most tables were empty but when we were leaving there were a good amount of people at both the bar and seated in the dining room, so it seems like people tend to come for a later meal. Our waitress came over and poured us waters and provided drink and food menus. This was a first for me - the menus lit up! Our waitress though was incredibly courteous and personable, she did a fantastic job checking on us. To kick the evening off, I ordered their Honey Hibiscus cocktail, which is mezcal, Grand Marnier, hibiscus, ginger, honey, cinnamon, lime, and fee foam. This was a nicely balanced cocktail with a more floral, fruity flavor. With the open kitchen concept, it was neat to see the chef and cooks working on our meals as we relaxed, talked, and munched on some warmed focaccia-like bread with a freshly made balsamic, olive oil, herb dip. The bread was so soft with the perfect amount of chew on the crust/exterior, and served warm. For dinner, I ordered Pappardelle Mornay and added (perfectly grilled) chicken breast for a few more dollars, which is simply pappardelle pasta in a creamy cheese mornay. Our waitress crushed some black pepper atop my dish before I started in. This was excellent - The pasta itself tasted so fresh, the cheese mornay was indeed very creamy, and the grilled chicken breast was cooked, seasoned, cut, and portioned perfectly. I am really glad I added the chicken breast to this dish as I'm not sure the pasta itself would've filled me up. I'd definitely order this again! To wrap up our meal, since it was Thursday, there's a "1/2 off Nightcaps" special, so each of us enjoyed a cold foam espresso martini afterward, which is coffee-infused vodka, Nue vodka, FAIR Café liqueur, dark crème de cacao, Steamworks espresso, chocolate bitters, vanilla syrup, and topped with an infused cold foam, which we went with the Frangelico Hazelnut cold foam, and a few espresso beans. This was ridiculously rich and delish! Harvest is an intimate, elevated dining experience, designed to have you stay a while, relax, and enjoy a more personal meal. All of us really enjoyed our evening here and have nothing but high praise for the staff and quality food. This isn't a fast, casual, cheap sit-down meal, but it's an experience worth the higher price. I look forward to coming back!

The live piano music was a nice touch, though we all agreed a tad loud to support dinner conversation. We didn't order dessert, but I saw some others getting delivered, and they looked delicious. Service was excellent. We'll be back!
