I urge you to not trust their 'expertise' or believe their act that they care. it has been very traumatic having to accept the disfiguring damage and seeing it everytime I look in a mirror. There is a lawsuit and it is so demoralizing that they hired a big Bay St firm to defend themselves after they initially acknowledged to me that they made a mistake and had seemed like kind, compassionate people. Plastic surgeons confirned that the damage is irreversible. An American lawyer said that if it happened there, I would easily get at least six figures. Here, if you can't prove loss of income or persistent physical pain from a procedure, it is hard to get any compensation. Of course I just want my old face back and I will never get it back. So all I can do is try to protect others. If you do want to get medispa type treatments done, please do yourself the best favour and go to an actual plastic surgeon's office where presumably there is more training, supervision and accountability. Above all, please appreciate your appearance. I would give anything to look like my old self. Almost every day I would search online for clinics and new techniques, trying to convince myself. Later, I met up with a friend, who had told me about going in for the procedure at Mocelle Edan. When I saw her I was blown away with the transformation and how natural her lips looked.  I decided to join her on her next visit, just to see the clinic, and learn more about the process. No real plan in committing to anything.  I have to admit that my initial perception was that I'd be walking into a lifeless sterile office, and would only have my previous experience reconfirmed again. Honestly, I couldn't have been more wrong. The moment we walked into the clinic, we were greeted by one of the friendliest receptionist and a beautifully designed office with long frosted doors that provided ample privacy for their clients.  Immediately after being greeted we were seated in the waiting room and offered a beverage. By the time we received our drinks it was time for my friends appointment.  Within minutes of speaking to the staff I felt comfortable and like I've known them for years. Through my friends appointment I saw that the staff were professional and in a very unique way artists. They understood the importance of individuality and that it's not about one size fitting all.  After seeing the way my friend was taken care of, and how precise the clinician's technique was, I felt comfortable to make the jump and book and appointment. A week later I was back, with the same friend and more anxiety than expected. I was terrified that I've made a terrible decision and had awful thoughts of my family and friends judging me. That being said I was still greeted with the same hospitality and friendliness, which made me feel more reassured.  After filling out the paper work, we entered the room. I sat on the table as the in-house doctor walked me through the process and answered my questions. He reassured me that everything would be great and that I was in great hands. While the clinician applied the numbing cream, she told us stories and experiences of her own. She had this beautiful warmth to her, that made us feel like we've known her for ages. We laughed an unbelievable amount, but I still could feel the anxiety lingering.  At this point the numbing cream kicked into affect and She grabbed the syringe. I hesitated and I asked her again what her plan was. She calmly walked me through it again and then asked if I was ready. I said yes... It felt like 15 minutes later, to be honest I was so pumped on adrenaline I lost track of time, but then she was done. The pain for this procedure was less than the pain when getting a needle for blood work. The needle is so thin and the numbing cream is so effective that you only really feel a tiny prick.  She handed me a mirror, and I was lost for words. My face had transformed and by the slightest lift of my upper lip. It was enough for me to notice but so nature that I knew no one else would be able to tell. The clinician then walked me through the aftercare procedure and all I could do was stare at myself in the mirror. I felt so self centred by so good about myself. She has given me the symmetry that I always wanted and a beautiful fullness that made my face brighter and luscious. After the procedure, there was a little soreness, but nothing major. That night I jumped on FaceTime with my sister and we talked for about 30 minutes. She then asked me what I did that day and I said I had an appointment. She then asked 'for what?' and I didn't want to lie, so I told her. She said 'I knew something was different! I just couldn't tell what!!' We laughed and she asked questions and seemed to be interested in the procedure herself. Then my boyfriend came home. We've been together for 7 years, and he didn't notice anything different. Still hasn't lol. Next morning I had very minimal bruising, which after 24 hours I covered up with lipstick.  A month later and the lips are still great and I'm still loving them. I couldn't be more pleased with my experience at Mocelle Edan, and I know that if anyone else goes to them they'll be treated the exact same.

Given that they present themselves as a "clinic," I expected a more professional and transparent experience, and this did not match that expectation. She happily answered all my questions and assisted me by sharing the image of the location, storefront since they had moved to a new location band the signage was not up yet. It is located above Sparks Salon (shared entrance). She reassured me about the results and advised me to be consistent with the treatment for best results. I received a reminder for my appointment from Jennifer via email one day prior to my appointment. The consultation included filling details about medical history, skin type, consent form etc. The clinic and the treatment rooms are neat and tidy. The procedure is effecient, quick and does not require usage of gels. Cristina did the treatment for me. She is warm and welcoming. Considering my experience was over 5 months ago and I am still frustrated when I think of it, that means a lot!!!! Ms. Cruz did my nails and they turned out terrible!! She did not properly cut the cuticles and she rushed through the whole thing. When I brought up the cuticles to her, she became defencive. Considering I get a manicure every 2 weeks, my nails looked worse coming out of the salon then going in! Odd, eh?? I was leaving on vacation so I needed it done, but Ms. Cruz said she did not have time to fix it, continuing to be defencive. As my purchase was on-line through one of the deal vendors, I could not avoid paying her, as she already had my money! Clever. She knew this and made it clear she was not refunding me. At this point she didn't even give me the facial which was part of my deal. She told me to deal with the deal site, which I just do not have time to do. I went looking for a salon to get Shellac done - at around 7pm! I first stopped at the salon below Ms. Cruz's store at the back of the salon supply store. Unfortunately, they only do regular nail polish, but they giggled when I showed them my nails and asked if they think they are "done". That must mean something! I ended up going to another salon, just down Eglinton - Kozeta. They squeezed me in so I could have my spa treatment in before my vacation. When they saw the nail job Ms. Cruz did, they just shook their heads. I think what Ms. Cruz needs to learn is that it's not her "16 years experience" that matters. people make mistakes. I paid almost $1,600 for Dermamelan treatment on my back, chest, and stomach. I had no allergic reaction during the in‑clinic portion and confirmed my at‑home instructions carefully. A week later, my skin became painful, raw, and the top layer was visibly peeling. I sent photos to the clinic and was told this was "normal" and to continue my post care. It wasn't. My skin barrier was broken, and following their advice meant applying an acid product to open wounds. Within two days, I developed severe chemical burns across my back, chest, and neck. My skin is now scarred and significantly worse than before I ever contacted Bellair. It didn't end there. My in‑person assessment with Dr. Pugen was switched to virtual while I was already on my way, making it useless. As I cried through the appointment, he suggested laser treatment even though both my dermatologist and Bellair's own coordinator said it would be high‑risk for my skin type. Two follow‑up calls were scheduled; nobody called me either time and I had to call the clinic to make the appointments happen. The clinic also took very personal "before" photos of my bare chest and back, then later claimed they COULDN'T FIND THEM and they were never uploaded due to "wifi issues." They use iPads with internal storage, so this makes no sense. The violation of patient privacy is truly baffling. When I requested a refund from the director, Oscar Amar, he dragged it out for 19 days, insisted they "did nothing wrong," and eventually offered a partial refund of no specified amount. After everything, it was like a slap in the face. What happened to me here was NOT OKAY. Period. It was dangerous, negligent, and deeply unethical. Proceed with extreme caution. I had purchased a Groupon for a shellac manicure. I booked an appointment over the phone. The woman…read moreon the other line was thorough, indicating the various charges for removing shellac polish off my nails, the Groupon does not cover tax, and more. She was also great in texting me a day before my appointment, providing a pleasant reminder of my appointment. The salon is located on the southwest corner of Eglinton Avenue East and Bayview Avenue. I decided to park across the street at the Metro, where there is plenty of parking. Due to the Crosstown transit construction taking place, it took me longer than I had anticipated to figure out where the front door was. I found it, which was behind all the construction fences that were set up. I was greeted promptly by both the person working at the front counter and the nail technician. They were kind. They offered me a cup of green tea. I had a wonderful conversation with Kasia, who worked on my nails. I learned so much about myself and shellac manicures. She noticed that I am warm-blooded and that my cuticles are close to my nails. As a result, when she trimmed one of my cuticles with a fairly sophisticated cuticle clipper, my baby finger bled a bit, but it didn't hurt. She also noticed that I have a high pain threshold, which is true. We talked about her issues with her iPhone. We tried troubleshooting it together. She taught me so much about shellac manicures. The best thing is to file down your nails that have shellac (gel) polish, as it won't chip as much. I took her advice and she was absolutely right. She also recommended that I apply a base coat twice. My nails had a bit of staining from red polish that I had applied weeks before my visit. I went with a pink polish. It looked nice once Kasia was done. She admitted that the colour suited me. My Groupon also included a paraffin wax and massage on my hands. It felt so good. I don't know what happened, but I managed to cut my finger and it started to bleed as I was about to head out the door. It's a good thing that I was still at the salon. Kasia managed to stop the bleeding and provided a small bandage on it. I was thankful. It is also tricky to put a bandage on nicely moisturized hands. I had an excellent experience here. I was also asked to take some Belgian chocolates from the bowl. I hope to come back here again. My nail polish lasted for well over a month, which was impressive. I wanted to test out how long I could go with my polish growing out. (7)
