This is a thicker crust pizza. The crust is rather dry and white breadish. Sausage and onions we ordered were rather unremarkable, as is the sauce, which is slightly sweet. Let me start by saying that I LOVE the food. The pizza is outstanding, I personally love the Thai Pie, the chicken is phenomenal and the subs are just as good. I even like everyone there, the staff is incredibly nice and Dennis always greets everyone he sees if he's working. That being said, the reason I didn't rate it 5 stars is the service. The staff is nice and polite but the last 4 or 5 times I've gone there I've has to wait twice as long for my food as given over the phone. I seem to notice this if I order jojo's, pizza is almost always ready on time. But by the time my jojo's are ready, everything else has sat there, done for many minutes. I loved this place the first time I came here but I was super disappointed on my second visit. I love that they have gluten-free options, and I was so excited to order another gluten-free pizza from them. However, when I got home, I realized that the crust was raw. It was completely doughy when I bit into it. I also paid for a side of garlic butter but they didn't include it with my order, which was also disappointing. I'm hoping that the pizza will be fully cooked if I decide to try this place again. After the guest visit, I thought I'd be coming here often, but now I don't know. I have celiac and am extremely sensitive to any type of cross contamination (I can't even use a microwave that has had wheat in it...), so I kept my fingers crossed that I would feel okay getting a gluten free pizza here. Unfortunately both times I've eaten their pizza I've gotten "glutened," which I was anticipating even though they seem really diligent about preparing the gluten free items as carefully as possible. But even as I sit here with my miserable celiac symptoms, I can't stop thinking about how it's still the most delicious pizza I've ever had. I got the Riconi both times, once with the regular cheese and once with vegan cheese. They don't skimp at all on toppings and the vegan cheese was delicious and reminded me of mozzarella. We've also tried the barbecue and the Buffalo wings, which had meat falling off the bone. It seems like most people with celiac are able to eat at Altieri's and be fine, but like I said I'm incredibly sensitive to wheat so I guess I'm not one of those people. That being said, if you're wondering how good this pizza place is, I'm already planning the next time I can carve out a few days to recover so I can get it again because it's worth every symptom. I had never ordered from this restaurant but wanted to support a small business rather than a chain. It was NYE so I expected they'd be busy, so I placed my order several hours ahead of time. When I arrived, my pizzas were done but they said it would be four minutes for the jojo's. A few minutes later, another customer walked in, picked up her order, walked out and then quickly walked back in. She told the employee at the counter that they'd given her jojo's instead of garlic knots. Fast forward fifteen more minutes and I am still waiting. I go up to the counter to ask for an update, because the last thing I was told 20 minutes prior is that my jojo's would be done in four minutes. The young girl at the counter says, extremely rudely, "He (I assumed she was referring to another employee) just said it will be four minutes." I said, "But that's what you said 20 minutes ago." She said, again extremely rudely, "I'm working as fast as I can." Ok, so that's how this business handles customer service issues, duly noted. Instead of just saying "I'm sorry, we gave your jojo's to someone else and are remaking them," or, if that's not what happened, saying, "We are really slammed tonight and the jojo's are behind schedule," I was made to feel like I was being unreasonable and that I was treating this poor overworked restaurant employee badly. I would have been totally understanding if they'd have just let me know what was going on instead of treating me like I was the problem. My pizzas were cold and inedible. There was no offer to remake them, and of course there was no apology that part of my order took thirty minutes longer than they said it would (while two pizzas sat on the counter). It seems that bad customer service has been normalized, and that the customers are "Karens" for saying anything at all. Hard pass for me. read more

So, I was feeling lazy one night and itching for some pizza but didn't want to drive far. I tried Aliteri's a second time and have to say the pizza was pretty awesome...better than before. My conclusion is that I didn't know what I was getting into the first time with gluten-free crust...I guess it's not my thing, but it's awesome that it is an option for those who follow those diets. Seemed like the owner was at the counter, but upon finding out it was my first time in the restaurant he quickly "hooked me up" with all the menus, magnets, and even a pen, hahaha. When we got there we paid and immediately after, was told that our wings were going to take a moment. 40 minutes later, we got our food. What a great place to get pizza from. As our first time ordering from Altieri's, I would be lying if I were to say I was anything but impressed. We were greeted warmly, given a menu with a detailed explanation (huge plus), and you get a free slice of pizza when you head in to pick up your order. This is heaven on the way home. I decided to only go with four stars out of five because of the sauce; I found it a tad too sweet for my tastes, but I generally prefer a spicier sauce as is, so don't let this defer you. All around, I would, and will, order from Altieri's again. Stop supporting bigger chains that serve frozen, disgusting ingredients. Enjoy good pizza for what it's worth. Consistently good pizza and chicken. Wheat crust is really good, and ordering a thin wheat bianca will give you almost a cracker crust that isn't soggy at all. Their Italian dressing is the best we've ever had, and we always stock it to have in the house. It kind of weirds me out that a pizza place doesn't deliver, but since we (and everyone else) keep going back means they know more than I do. If you or someone you know is gluten-free, this is a good place to keep on the list though if you're very sensitive, there is a possibility of inadvertent cross contamination as they have a lot of wheat flour there. read more

Best pizza and fried chicken in this area! With all the chain pizza shops out there it is difficult and boring finding one worth eating. Drove into the next city to try something different and quickly became loyal customers. We love the fact that they have monthly pizzas to try. While some aren't for our family some we can't get enough of and order several times during the monthly run. We recently moved right down the road and can't wait to order and try more. While delivery would be nice it is refreshing going into a local shop and seeing friendly faces. Kids had back to back sports events on a cold rainy Saturday morning. Fortunately, the second game was in Munroe Falls allowing for an order from Altieri's Pizza! This gets five stars for two reasons: 1. The gluten free option for pizza, chicken, and jo jos. 2. For their creativity. I like the Thai Pie and my wife loves the Ranch Pizza. The Thai Pie has chicken, sliced meatballs, red onions, provolone, and spicy peanut sauce. This pizza is a little spicy, but does not cause you to break out in a sweat. The Ranch pizza has ranch dressing, bacon, red onion, mushrooms, tomatoes, and provolone cheese. I also always purchase a container of the house Italian dressing.
