I ordered a YSS-875EXHGS soprano sax from them because their pricing was very competitive. I used the chat function to ask a question, and received an email from one of their staff, Victoria. Victoria personally helped me through the process, and walked the sax down to shipping herself to make sure I would receive it quickly. I did not feel like I was dealing with a large multi outlet store online a continent away (I am in Hawaii, Alto Music is in New York), I was dealing with a specific person that wanted to make sure I had a good purchase experience. The sax that I received had some manufacturing issues. Victoria quickly made good with the return and worked through ordering a replacement sax, and made sure I got it as soon as possible. I found an API 500 series module on ebay being sold by Alto. When I called and asked to buy it minus the ebay seller fee he said no. Wen I asked why, he gave me a bunch of BS reasons. His first reason is 1. The "used" condition is wrong, its new, which is total BS. He first said it's a "business tactic" they employ then backpedalled and said it was a mistake. Liar. 2. They get a lower seller fee than regular people. This is 100% false. eBay doesn't give any commercial or large business discount on final selling fee. He lied to try and make a bigger sale so I walked. 3. He said the price was entered on the site wrong and it should already be $300 higher. He literally made that up to try to convince me to pay more. I don't mind an honest conversation to make a deal but to lie and try to falsify the facts to swindle the customer is the reason I'll never shop here ever again. I own a 2500 square foot commercial studio in NYC and will take all our business elsewhere and tell all my colleagues to do the same if they want to treat customers like this. read more

This was a first time purchase for me with Alto Music. They had a good fall discount going so I decided to try them out. After a couple days though my grandfather had passed away and I was worried about not being there to receive the package so I called to cancel. They stated the pedal had already been processed and wouldn't be available to cancel, which is fair. I do believe they rushed the order with 2 day shipping (which I appreciated) to get here in time but also resulted in the pedal being damaged. Possibly due to cost savings by trying to help out with the 2 day shipment. The shipping was free because initially I was fine with waiting. The pedal arrived damaged so I contacted them and I received an email shortly from Todd with a prepaid shipping label. I shipped the damaged pedal out the next day and also received notification that the new Lehle pedal was being shipped out to me and would again arrive in 2 days. On arrival I discovered the pedal had been previously used by evidence of the adhesive from dual lock/velcro. Ultimately, this is why I gave it 3 stars. read more

They refused until I canceled the return. So I contacted eBay and they said not to do that but rather have Alto Music do a replacement shipment. I reached out to Alto Music and they ignored me for several weeks. The return expired and eBay escalated the situation. They reached out to Alto Music several times with no response. After a week, eBay sent me a full refund. I left Alto Music a bad review on EBay. They finally return my message offering to help but it was too late. The was the only message they sent. Seems like they don't care about customer service or dealing with issues. If a problem arises or you have issues with a product, don't expect any help from them. Alto Music will ignore you. I purchased a Used Behringer UB-Xa from Alto Music through reverb, the listed price was $888.00. The total after taxes and a $10.00 off coupon came to $964.00. With the Behringer price hike, i thought i was going to have to wait awhile for the price to hopefully drop, who knows how long that would have been. The unit they sent was still factory sealed, it wasnt used at all, completely new, albeit, just in the Behringer packaging, which barely held together through U.P.S's abuse. The synth is gorgeous, and sounds great, and i got it for a steal, i saved $500 bucks, and got a full 16 voice polyphonic synthesizer that rivals the Prophet Rev 2 in capabilities, and the Oberheim Ob-Xa in sound. I dont think i could have gotten a better deal, hands down best value, even when considering ANY purchase, not just Music gear, $500 bucks is a lot of Savings. read more

Took my money- Shipped guitar with a signature request, which was not stated anywhere during purchase! Delivery a tempt and failure was a surprise! We're old and can't always hear the door.. I contacted Alto and they said they can't leave it without a signature and after explaining that we can't watch the door all day, he said he'd do return through the shipper ! He said he'd refund our money as soon as it was on its way back to Alto Music. The next day I got a notification email stating that the package was delivered !? We looked outside and there was not a package, and so we called the neighbors and they hadn't seen or signed for any deliveries for us. Had so many questions about an item I bought because I had so many problems with it and ask if they help me and their answer was "No, read the manual. Figure it out." I am leaving this review because I am extremely disappointed with the service and product I purchased. I am in the middle of a bad experience with Alto Music. I purchased a brand new Line 6 Spider V60 MKII from Alto Music via Reverb. On 02/5 I paid $229.99 for the amp. I received the package via UPS on 02/05. The amp will play the jam tracks just fine, the volume works the effects seem to work, the input channel has no signal. You plug in and nothing happens no sound. I know it is not my cord nor the Brand new Schecter I bought from a different seller (thankfully) the guitar works fine with my Fender Ultra Chorus and The Fender Mustang personal headphone amp. The Line 6 V 60 does not work. So far communication is at best minimal. In comparison, The same day I purchased the Line 6 from Alto Music, I also purchased a Schecter Helleraiser C1 FRS the seller of the guitar contacted me the very next day to let me know there was an issue with the order and professionally handled the issue. Alto Music not so much. I will see if this company is honorable in spite of what first impressions might suggest. Rex read more
