I'm not going to lie. The price was fair for my oil change and front wheel alignment. They also did some repairs for us in the past that I've been very satisfied with, but I think the face of your business the one that is dealing with your clients and who I am handing my money to should be a little bit more present and have good customer service skills. I dropped off my car early and it was busy and the girl behind the counter wasn't pleasant. I figured it was because the place was busy. My appointment was at 1 o'clock. I dropped off my car around 11 not expecting it to be done until 2 or 3. No one called me so I showed up at 4:45 to check on it the place was not busy. Encountered the same girl who again showed no customer service skill ie no hello, how can I help you or thank you no one bothered to call to let me know the car was even done. Knowing where my keys are and leaving dirty rags in your car also kind of a bummer. Would have liked to hear from a mechanic to let me know if they had found anything else but I guess this is a lost art. Alvarez tire is a scam. I bought a 2022 - 2500 Chevy truck and went to Alvarez to get rims and tires. I was told that I was getting brand new rims and tires and paid full price, but I found out they sell tires that are up to seven years old and claim them to be new. I went to discount tire cause I had a slow leak in my rear tire. The guy that was filling it up told me that from the serial number the tire was from 2018. I was shocked because my truck is a 2022 and I was thinking why would I have 2018 tires on a 2022 truck when I had Alvarez put them on the rims and tires the middle of 2022. So I called Alvarez tire and spoke to a manager and he said that is normal. That's what their company does and that's what their company allows. It's in their contract. I spent full price on rims and tires and was shocked that the manager didn't give a shit. I am very disappointed about Alvarez and will never do business with them again! This is what you get for trying to support a local establishment. They just screw you and don't care. read more

I TOOK A SET OF TIRES FOR MY JEEP AND 4 NEW TPMS, for mounting, I ASKED if they would program the tpms to the car if i took it up to the shop. Nick one of the owners said he did not work on someone else equipment, so why did he put the tires on the rims , That is the the tires are someone else equipment, Tire buyer told me over the phone they were a good shop, I find nick to be very rude , I will take my tire work to another shop. If nick told me about his problem about working on someone else eqipment up front I would have gone to another shop. read more

It's unfortunate I have to write this review. My husband and I have generally always been pleased with the service we get at Alverez, whether it's the Chino or PV location. But after two fails this week, we won't patron them anymore. I went in on Wed 1/8 for an alignment on my truck. I had an 11 am appointment. I was running a little behind and so my husband called to tell them. They said that is fine. I get there about 11:15 and turn my keys over. I then wait. And wait and wait some more. They let me truck sit for 45 mins before starting and as I watched, it literally looked as if they forgot it was there. Then it took them forever to do the actual alignment. It was over 2 hrs before it was done and I could leave. And on top of it, they charged me $20 extra labor. Raul also informed me the water pump was leaking, which I was aware of, but hadn't gotten to it yet. I got a price from him and asked how long a repair like that would take. Originally he said 3 hrs. I told him I'd have to do it some other time because I had no ride back home and I didn't want to sit in the shop that long. He went and talked to the mechanic and said that the guy said it could be done in about 1.5 hrs. That wasn't horrible, so I scheduled the appointment for 9am the next day. I was quoted $375 out the door. Next morning I show up a little before 9. They take the truck back shortly after. And the wait begins. At just over two hrs, I ask for an update. At first Raul said he's pretty much done, just topping off fluids, but he'll check. He comes back with some story about needing a special tool and they had to wait for it to be delivered and the guy is saying another hr. At this point I'm pretty irritated. I tell him I hadn't planned to be gone this long and I have to get back home. He then informs me that the bill is $400 now because they have to charge me for more coolant. I told him he gave me a total price yesterday, not a "plus this" price. I now felt like I was being taken advantage of. My husband called to speak with him, and he wouldn't come to the phone. He just told the gal at the front desk he'd only charge the $375. By now it's 12-12:30 and the truck still isn't done. Raul tells me there is still a leak so they're checking it. Ok, fine. At 1 pm they tell me the leak has been resolved but they have to wait for it to come up to temp to top off fluid. I go outside and the truck is just sitting there. It's not running. How can it come up to temp if the truck isn't running? I'm pissed at this point because I'm on hour number four on a job that should have taken 3 at the most. Finally at nearly 1:30 he tells me the truck is ready. No one apologized for it taking forever or anything. I paid my bill, got a snotty "have a nice day" for the gal behind the counter and got in my truck and left. Never again. read more

Phil was very pleasant and quick. he politely asked myself what service i needed which was a tire repair. Phil still treated my service needs like a 2K tire sale. He quickly looked at my tire, gave me a price and time that the repair would be finished. Just moved to town and was in need of tires and was told by several ppl to come here. My husband had been in the tire business for years so it was a tad weird being on the other end and having to purchase tires. My husband called late Saturday afternoon which he would've normally waited until Monday but we needed tires ASAP the owner told us he was closing but he would stay open until we got there. When we arrived we were greeted by some of the friendliest down to earth people I've meet since I moved here. They were quick and efficient because trust me my husband triple checked their work. Went in to get a couple used 245/75 R16's...they had 2 Goodyear tires that showed little wear...balanced and mounted out the door for $80.00 + $5.00 disposal fee... If I could give a (-) Star I would. My sons car stalled on Saturday Apr 4 so he had it towed in to Alvarez Tire in Chino because it was only thing open. They erased the check engine codes without writing them down. Then they told him it needed a throttle body on April 11. I'd had the entire vehicle gone through on March 19-20 at Firestone in Phoenix and checked engine and coolant system as part Of the vehicle inspection. On April 22 I called to see if car was done-- mind you... no contact from them at all. .. and they said they replaced the throttle body but "that wasn't it" and that there was " something wrong with the heads or something" and quoted me $1800-$2000 to fix. I'm not car savvy but I know that if a mechanic works on a vehicle they are not vague and don't use language like that. My son stopped to get the vehicle today to take it elsewhere and they told him it wasn't drivable, that they were idling it and it just " blew up". I am so angry. This a Nissan Pathfinder and this is not only going to a different shop it's going to court. They ruined this car. read more

I have done business with Alvarez Tire since moving up here in 2012. We lived in PV then and I used that location. When we moved to Chino I always used Sergio's Tire but when I noticed they had opened a location up here (or at least when I noticed it) I started sending my business their way. This location has always been run by Nick Alvarez. Nick is a good guy and I have nothing but good things to say about him and the way he has treated us in the past. Previously, I have had about 3 sets of tires installed there, a few repairs and if anyone asks me where to get tire work, I always recommend Nick. Not anymore. Unfortunately today was the day that I got to do business with Raul Alvarez. He definitely deserves the reputation displayed in reviews from previous Yelpers and now it looks like it is a roll of the dice.********** My wife had a slow leak and would stop in to get her tire topped off. All four tires needed replaced and we already had them but just didn't have time to get them installed. Raul told her to bring them in and he would install at $10 each. If memory serves, they usually charge $15 so my wife was excited enough to call me to report that offer. Today we went to get those tires installed. When it comes time to pay and Raul wants $20 a tire. My wife comes over to get more cash from me and I look over to see Raul and his employee giggling like schoolgirls. I tell him in plain English that if he doesn't honor the price he quoted, I will never do business there again. This bastion of customer service just replies, "I got plenty of customers." Alright pal. You keep that $40 if it is more important than your integrity. I too, have plenty of tire shops to choose from. read more

My fiance bought two tires from this place and both blew up in a matter of months. The first time the left one blew up while she was on the highway and it did some damage to the side of her car. The second tire on the right side blew up a few months later while she was on the highway. All I can advise people is to spend that extra money on buying new tires that won't put your life at risk. read more
