I just picked up my pup, a mini Bernedoodle, and he seemed super happy going there. He got a summer cut. I was pretty clear on my instructions to make sure to keep the body short and keep the face longer, eyebrows and eyelashes especially. We love the squared face. Unfortunately everything came back short, his face and chin hairs basically gone. My little guy looks like a completely different dog now. We went from the former to the latter. We were offered a $5 discount. I probably should give this 3 stars but I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt that it was an honest mistake. I'll probably go back but now we are on the "fool me once" train.

He washed her thoroughly, clipped her nails, brushed her teeth, and cleaned her ears in an hour! He is soooo well priced too. Seriously we have tried other groomers in Hoboken, this was by far the best value and the best service. He's a gem!

My dog had fleas and needed a bath. She's a pittie with general allergy issues, and sheds like it's going to be illegal tomorrow. Alvi's Grooming Spa has good reviews all around, most reviews mentioning the reasonable rates, so I decided to give him a call. Alvi was easy to reach -- no voicemail phone tag. He picked up when I called and I brought my dog over right afterwards. Alvi had the proper flea treatment and gave my girl a deep clean. He even took some Halloween-themed photos of her and he probably spoiled her. He's clearly a dog lover! I came to pick her up, and she was hanging out with his pittie-- treated like one of his own. Of course the best part is that the fleas are gone, my dog smells good (for once) and that bath really took care of the shedding. I'm now adding a periodic visit to Alvi's as part of her routine grooming regimen. read more

Alvi of Alvi's Grooming Salon has been cutting and styling our 6 year old mini labradoodle for years. He recently opened this salon and we highly recommend his services. Alvi is amazing with our dog, who has the worst separation anxiety you can imagine. Alvi is caring with him, takes his time, and ALWAYS delivers the best haircut in town. We've had our dog groomed at other places over the years, but once we found Alvi, we stayed with him. He always comes back looking amazing and smelling great. Omgggg I am so happy I found this place in the neighborhood. Alvi obviously loves dogs and he put so much care into grooming Penelope. I just took my dog, Willow, to Alvi today to get groomed after meeting him and his dog Gordo walking by the salon. He was very friendly and knowledgeable. I dropped her off, we chatted about about needs, and I left her happily running around with Gordo. He sent pictures during her service, and when I came back she looked great, had great reviews, and didn't want to come home with me. We will definitely be back and highly recommend this salon! read more

We took our 10 year old shorkie, Lulu, to Alvi's yesterday and It was an awesome experience. He really took the time to ask about her & her health concerns, and explained to me exactly what how he was going to groom lulu. We are new to Hoboken and tried 2 other groomers and neither can compare to Alvi's level of care, and just overall how personable he is. We will definitely be back!!! read more

I recently met Alvi while walking my dog on our routine weekend route. I own a long hair mini dachshund and have been bathing and cutting his hair myself due to being laid off as a result of the pandemic. I only needed his dewclaws cut and inquired if he would cut them and what would he charge. He looked at his paws and noticed all the other nails were fine, as they naturally get filed from walking on the concrete. He ran and got his tools and cut the dewclaws for no charge! Alvi is so friendly and very knowlegable, you can see how much he enjoys taking care of dogs. As soon as I'm back to work I will definitely be taking my dog to him to get bathed and groomed. read more

Don't look elsewhere!! This was just a great experience! I send my fur-child here for haircuts and baths, they do a great job. My little guy is afraid of bigger dogs so they take the extra step to separate him into an area that he's comfortable in. He always comes back happy and cuter than when we dropped him off! Unreliable Pet Groomer My experience with this pet groomer was an absolute disaster. Despite confirming my appointment the night before, I arrived to find the office closed without any prior notice. I wasted over 30 minutes waiting on a rainy weekend morning, and my attempts to reach them through phone, email, and knocking went unanswered. I took my dog to Alvi's for a nail trimming. My pup has some difficult nails that tend to curl under and are difficult to cut. Alvi went out of his way to make sure he safely cut those troubling nails and gave me some advice on what we can do to prevent it. read more

I handed over a happy, healthy dog and expected to pick him up looking fluffy and refreshed. Instead, I was horrified when they brought him back completely shaved down without a single warning or phone call asking for permission. I barely recognized him. Later, they contacted my family claiming my dog had red irritation bumps, but that made absolutely no sense. My dog sleeps beside me every single night, and I check him constantly -- he had never shown any signs of bumps, irritation, or skin problems before stepping foot into this place. To make matters worse, they somehow lost his collar, something I then had to replace out of my own pocket. When I brought my dog home, his entire personality had changed. He seemed withdrawn, miserable, and deeply uncomfortable, nothing like the playful dog I dropped off earlier that day. His condition worried me so much that I rushed him to the vet, where I was given medicated cream for his irritated skin. Then, two days later, I discovered a black mark on his ear that suddenly began bleeding heavily. It genuinely looked as though he had been cut during the grooming process. Seeing my dog in pain and bleeding was heartbreaking and infuriating. When I confronted the owner about everything that had happened, she denied every single concern and refused to take any responsibility. The entire experience was upsetting, stressful, and traumatic for both me and my dog. If you truly care about your pet's safety and well-being, I strongly urge you to think twice before bringing them here. I will absolutely never trust this place with my dog again.

Mai who works behind the counter is very friendly, caring and informative. My dog is generally timid and when she approaches a human (Mai) excitedly, it's very telling :)

I would Recommend him to any one jn the area . He is amazing and loves animals ! I felt safe having my dog with him . When we dropped him off he even gifted us some special organic grass fed treats . It's not just a pay check for him, you can tell he does this because he is an extreme animal lover. He doesn't just walk your dog and leave either! He spends time with them and pets them and plays with them. I met him at the very beginning of his pet care career and the second we met I felt at ease. I feel like I'm a pretty intuitive person and I knew in my heart I could trust my babies and my home with him. Pet care is not only taking care of your pet but you also are handing the keys to your home over to a stranger and you're telling them to basically take care of everything that you love while you're away. I can whole heartedly tell you , Your fur babies and your home are SAFE and loved and you have absolutely nothing to worry about. Literally nothing. Nicholas makes leaving your pets behind ... a guilt free process. I'm almost happier for my dogs when I know that Nicholas is coming because I know they'll get a nice long walk and will have playtime and they'll enjoy their evening. You truly can never go wrong with picking Pet Care by Nicholas***. He will be your fur babies best friend . .......... also, my fur babies are handicapped and both were born deaf and partially blind. Trusting them with a typical dog walking company was never a consideration for me . I needed someone to be responsible and understanding with dogs who can not hear you call them. It's scary to leave loved ones with a stranger , but I can guarantee Nicholas is by far the best in this area. I strongly recommend his services *

Excellent treatment towards both my furbabies. Cuts were clean. Groomer did exactly as I asked. My…read morebabies smelled clean and they were happy when the were done. Thank you Vivien the groomer and the reception is Gabby she's very professional courteous and very attentive. She treated my baby's as if they were her own. Definitely, definitely, definitely! recommend this place!!!
