My mother has been a patient of Dr Chang's 4 years . Usually he did a very good job . For whatever reason my mother needed a medication refill and two weeks ago the pharmacy faxed a request and they still have not responded . I have called his office and there is still no response and my mother does not have medication and she has considerable swelling in her ankles and wrists . This is unacceptable and to not have a physician's assistant be able to take care of such matters is unacceptable . I have been inconvenienced and I'm not able to go out of town because he and his office did not do the job they were supposed to . I would take this into consideration if you're looking for a service provider as I wouldn't wish this to happen to anyone and in my opinion it borders on the line of malpractice . read more

This clinic service is very bad. I called for making an appointment. Waiting for a bout 0.5 hour and got an answer. The lady said to check available date and insurance, let me waiting another 15min. Then asked me to give the insurance ID. I told her it does not change and should be in her file. She insists and asked me call again. I told her she could make an appointment now and I will bring it when I go to see the Dr. She refused to do it. So difficult to make a simple appointment. read more

If you want to see this Doctor. It takes about 3 months. I had to see the P/A Sandra Garcia. She seemed niced (seemed) I took all the test she wanted got my medication (especially my Levothyroxin) that I have been taking since I was 16. I'm 61 now. All seemed good until I didn't show up for a follow up appointment. The was no procedure, just a follow up. Well now she won't refill my scripts unless I make an appointment. I am out of my meds and can't get them unless she approves them, which she hasn't thus far. Its only blood pressure meds and glandular, what could happen right. Perhaps a heart attack or a slow death due to not having synthroid in my system. It all about the $$$$ not the care. I thought Doctors took an oath? Many times I called in, the reception who takes the appointment was really rude to me. So he gave me a time available first, when I ask for what date, he told me if im deaf. I told him "you did not give me the date first, you gave me the time." When I told him, I cannot do it at that date, he hung up on me. Alvin Chang is a good doctor. So far, the reception is horrible. I am very unsatisfied with their services, I had to get an I-693 form filled out, and chose them. They made a mistake, and my paperwork was declined by the uscis, I come back to get them to redo it, since they made a mistake. They have refused to redo it, and have asked me to spend even more money to do this again! I asked to get refunded, since I did not get what I paid for, which they've also declined! This Doctor has the worst bedside manner I've ever seen. He was extremely unhelpful didn't care whatsoever about my condition. A few years back I was and still am suffering from extreme back, neck ,arm,elbow , legs limb pain Etc due to degenerative bone disease, neuropathy, stenosis, severe arthritis, carpal tunnel, tendonitis Etc. He was my primary care physician at the time. since then my condition has gotten worse. my company had changed insurance companies and unfortunately due to my condition I was also laid off a few months back. I went to see the doctor to have him fill out some forms that I need . he was the primary doctor that initially sent me to all the specialist to begin with. he told me he didn't know how to fill out the (2) forms which I found quite surprising , startling to say the least and he told me to go to urgent care then he dismissed me. He never even asked me anything about my condition or how I felt he just kept saying he did not know how to fill out the two very simple forms. The diagnosis from all the Specialists were sent to him at his office. it clearly shows his name on the documents.The Dr report from the specialist that I had received for my medical records listing him as the primary care physician at the time. The services were rendered he still told me... I wasn't his patient and he couldn't help me and that he did not know how to fill out the forms . Upon reviewing the forms I could see how simple they were at that point i I was confused ....I'm disgusted at his behavior so insensitive and unprofessional .Im not sure at this point what to do.... This doctor is completely and totally worthless and obviously has no time for his patience from the past. But boy they sure do take your money before they've even seen you. I do not recommend him because if something were to happen to you and he's no longer your primary care physician in the future ....good luck In trying to get any information or anything regarding your case and or condition . .I sat in the office crying because I need the paperwork filled out so I can get medical insurance again he did not know how to fill out the two forms that was the only response I was able to receive , he then left the exam room. after I composed myself I hobbled out to my ride and went home. I feel discriminated against and that his lack of concern and helping his patient left me no other alternative than to write this post I hope no one has to experience the humiliation and disrespect that I had felt I guess I'm going to have to take it to the next level. Furthermore when I initially made the appointment with the doctor I explained in great detail to the receptionist the purpose of my appointment to no avail there is a lack of communication amongst the office staff as well evidently I demanded my money back as he did absolutely nothing for me so as the saying goes the Lord helps them that help themselves so here I go read more

My 87 year old mother has been a patient of Dr. Chang for more than 2 years. Dr. Chang conducts regular home visits to her assisted living facility in Irvine. He is very professional and provides excellent care for senior patients. Dr. Chang is also very responsive for refill requests and referrals. We highly recommend him. read more

Wow. I like this office and I really like Dr. Chang! I am in healthcare and avoid doctors until absolutely necessary for yearly tests and exams. I was pleased and surprised by the effortless communication with Dr Chang and I walked out with my lab and other referral. Once home I noticed I did not get a requested referral to a dermatologist but that came in the mail in two days! I am very happy with the office staff and with the doctor. read more

Worst administrative staff ever. I have dealt with their incompetence for years and Dr. Chang is either too apathetic or too nice to clean house. If you want screw ups with your insurance, scheduling appointments, need prescriptions filled, or paperwork completed by your doctors office, look no further. read more

He takes time to answer my mother's questions even though he runs a very busy practice. Doesn't matter how 'good' the doctor is if the front office LIES to you when you make an appointment then absolutely denies this!!!! Two family members were standing right there and listening (happened to have it on speaker phone) and heard the person giving me the appointment. Called the day before (as I always do when I have an appointment to make sure all is ok) and was told that 'someone' cancelled it. Never called me. Then they changed the story saying that I had called and cancelled it. I DID NOT - and lady was extremely rude trying to make it appear as I had cancelled when in fact it had to be their error - but never accepting responsibility. I very much had wanted to have my annual physical and it was extremely important to me and nothing I would cancel!! FINDING ANOTHER DOCTOR and Office that has INTEGRITY!!! read more

Yelp did not disappoint me again. We found Dr. Chang on yelp and also heard from a few senior assisted living facility managers. Unlike the previous doctor we had in Cerritos who never wanted to talk to anyone besides the patient, just wanted to give a quick diagnosis and sent the patient away, Dr. Chang's office staff are so friendly, and so is Dr. Chang! He pays attention to what we said about our mother-in-law's current health condition, advises us on what we can do for her as her family, and even gives us a referral for a home care service that provides the language that my mother-in-law speaks. Dr. shows great care for and is very knowledgeable about seniors. Now, both my mom and grandmother have become his patients.
