Largest and best fish sandwich I have ever had.

Started going here this year What a great place, family owned and operated, excellent food, reasonable prices.

    What a treat!!

I've never seen a halibut sandwich like this one in my life! Delicious, huge, fresh, perfect to eat in or take home. The outdoor seating is cute and the folks are as friendly as can be. Don't pass up this gem!

Crab Rangoons! Blueberry pie! Onion rings! Oh my!

Gurnet Trading is a tried and true spot for seafood! We always stop at least a few times when we are in Harpswell! I don't recall seeing the crab Rangoons on the menu the last time we were here, but they were the best I've ever had!!! Crab roll was delicious as well! Of course, we ended our meal with blueberry pie and a peanut butter whoopie pie which were both awesome! We took a frozen seafood stew to go as well! They have a great variety to go items, but you can eat there as well! Fun lobster "gift shop"-including lobster sandals! Staff is super friendly and helpful!

Sometimes side of the road places can be scary but this is a must go to spot if you want amazing seafood with a cute little view. The place is part store part restaurant where you order at counter and wait for your name to be called. Staff was helpful with ordering and I got the amazing lobster roll where bun fit it perfectly and the fried clams. These clams were so juicy sweet and tender I couldn't put them down. Then my dad not a seafood guy got the fantastic bang bang shrimp and potatoes salad. These were perfect for a hot sunny day. I want to try everything odd this menu and some back for seconds thirds and so much more.

Awesome local spot loaded with fresh seafood choices. Overall reasonable prices. The cheapest lobster roll prices I had seen during my week in Maine in July at $14.50. A hefty whole blueberry pie at $19 and scallops at $17 were pricier choices that day. We ate the lobster and crab rolls inside - there is a small amount of seating inside and some more tables outside. Both simply prepared and delicious. We enjoyed the pie later - it was very heavy and loaded with fruit. Nice end to the meal. Most people who came in got take out. They do also have a fridge of drinks and grab and go refrigerated/frozen items with containers of chowder and other things. Employees were really friendly. Tried the smoked fish dip which was delicious - they gave a few packaged crackers to eat with it but we needed more so we used fresh veggies to dip as well. I got my dad takeout seared scallops and clam cake as a change from lobster which he enjoyed.

Perfect if you're craving a lobster roll. Got everything to go so I can't speak to the seating. Lobster rolls were delicious, as were the onion rings. Fried scallops were good, but more breading than I would like. Blueberry pie was heavenly and you could tell everything was homemade (the owner even dives for the scallops).

I'm so glad I stopped in here! Nothing but amazing service, selection (menu is HUGE!), and amazing seafood. Their clams are the best I've had in my life. Lobster rolls are amazing as well. Their homemade rangoons and sauce melt in your mouth. You feel right at home as you walk into this authentic market with cozy vibes all around. Make sure you check out the goodies in the fridge as well. I regret not trying the large whoopie pies. Nice soda and beer selection as well. I'll be back for more.

On a visit to the area my SO and I decided we needed to have a lobster roll to make the trip authentic. We searched reviews for a good place near us, and Gurnet Trading came up . It's a tiny little place on the side of a busy road. Looked promising. I have never had a lobster roll before, so have nothing to compare. There was plenty of lobster, very little mayonnaise. However, the prices were a shock. SO had a regular bun, mine was gluten free ($3 extra). We had a haddock chowder, two lobster rolls and one piece of blueberry pie. The bill was a whopping $65! Local friends have said they saw us coming lol, but the menu is on the wall. It was all just okay, not great. We didn't even finish the chowder or the pie.

Foodie heaven. Lobster Roll and slice of Blueberry Pie. Doesn't get much more Maine! Great pit stop before Bowdoin Basketball Game.

New England Seafood spirals me out of course to get basic questions answered to myself of those…read moresimilar questions I ask of myself of in and what's around in the brackish deeper waters or closer to land pluff mud, all below the water and watching us walk past as the men at Casco dig in. I'm transported into a vortex of restaurant going people stuffing crustations down their grills snug in their catacomb tables, lending me to the unproven knowledge to this toil - or so it seems, that when we all eat, we might be missing a lot of what's happened to bring this meal to you. We foodies seem to always get our way - in the federal penitentiary, you never get your way, you NEVER get your (Fing) way - so please, understand that eighty five percent of the world would kill for our problems. . The frenzy and attention to the meal without the background, I think about and behaviors aren't quite unlike the gulls in the big box store lots atop the light posts, what the people do here with their face gullets plunging down and their feeding frenzies of cheap one liners. The gulls are missing their experiences because they're no longer down by the dock, they're inland - they're in St. Louis. I know first hand because I driven (not flown over or into) The Gateway to the West, I'm seeing these large birds all the time - they're are all around - I'm on their turf and we both know it. Fortunately, I've not had to throw hands with a hungry goose over an lost and unlucky little bagel. My guys whose names I mentioned in the photos and will add in, they throw down daily freshness from Casco Bay to you - buy you hesitate when buying retail seafood, you out of towners - and by "you" I am referring to Me. Let your conscience be your guide, real all of Mr. Alarming's reviews - pour it into a bottle and add some Bombay Sapphire - chug it down and partake if you are into that because you can up in here and its everywhere and it'll work up your hunger and you'll laugh a bit more than usual and if that's wrong --------- I don't wanna be right.
