This review is for Summer Greenlees…read more When my wife was wrapping up her first trimester, she sat me down and told me that she'd like to go through childbirth naturally. As a guy, this went against every instinct, noting that I'd prefer a c-section or to be "numbed from the nose down". Understanding that my support for this decision was a must, immediately I told her to find a doula. Soon later, my wife met with and enlisted Summer Greenlees' help. Her services included [but are not limited to] pregnancy massage, water massage, breathing exercises, aromatherapy and [of course] an active presence in labor & delivery. Fast forward to the third trimester, this is when I met Summer and one of her protégés for the first time. I was immediately struck by Summer's calming presence and uplifting personality-- even her laugh relieves tension! A few weeks later was our due date, but we had that time to practice techniques as a couple in preparation. I'd also like to note that while natural labor is encouraged as the ultimate goal, Summer both understands and acknowledges that epidurals and the like are additional tools in our belt rather than great evils or instruments of failure. When finally in the labor & delivery room, Summer was there from the first moments, setting the stage with calming music, scents that had already shown to calm my wife, foot & shoulder massage, etc. As labor intensified and I locked up with anxiety, she helped to include me with suggestions of what would be most helpful. Without her, I most likely would have remained isolated and closed off when my wife needed me the most. Whatever I paid Summer for her services, I assure you that it was worth much more than that just to have her there. If not for Summer and April (who was present and instrumental in the final stretch of delivery), I would not be able to look back at that moment with fond memories. Their calming energies and positivity helped my wife succeed physically and me emotionally. Getting a doula is a good decision. Choosing Summer makes it a great one.

Stacy came highly recommended to me by several well respected Austin yoga teachers. As soon as I met Stacy and began to learn from her I knew that I'd struck the jackpot. She is a professional who is incredibly passionate and knowledgeable about yoga, pregnancy, birth, anatomy, fascia, herbs, supporting mothers and is deeply involved in the Austin birthing community. Besides her wealth of knowledge it was Stacy's calm, steady demeanor, easy laugh and smile, and sense of humor that made me and the other women in the training feel so supported and empowered to become prenatal yoga teachers ourselves. In 2015 when I became pregnant with my second child I immediately knew I wanted Stacy to be my doula and I'm thankful she accepted. She held space for my desires, my fears, and my excitement about my upcoming birth. I emailed her as a new comer and she replied same day answering all my questions, going beyond in providing information, and we scheduled my first appointment immediately. I just finished my appointment and practically rushed home to tell fellow Yelpers how great she is. I suffer from tension in my upper shoulder and neck area and can honestly say have not felt this great in over 5 years. As for yoga, I have only been practicing since Dec 25, 2014 and I have been exposed to many yoga studios, instructors, and teaching styles (Long Beach, Fullerton, La Habra, Cypress, Seattle, Killeen, Houston, Dallas, and Austin). The studio has ambient parking for the yogis. When you walk in, the front desk is located on the right for check in. They have available manduka mats, blocks, and straps for your practice. They sell water and other sport drinks. To the right are "cubbies" similar to the kindergarten days to store your excess clothes, purses, shoes, etc. There is a water fountain that trickles water (try to fill your water bottle before practice or else spend a minute filling a 24oz bottle). There is an extremely clean bathroom (probably want to poop at home). When you enter the studio, they provide sweat towels. To conclude practices, they give cold and lavendar-scented savasana towels! I have attended 6 sessions and have always enjoyed how crowded and sweaty my fellow yogi's and I get. The studio is heated for multiple reasons: detoxicification, cardiovascular workout, and increase flexibility. The practice are endorsed for yogi's of different levels. The instructors make that clear from the start, but during practice they will recommend suggestions for the experience practicers. So for instance, she will suggest to do this jumping practice. Some people will do hops. Others will be able to spring into handstands. The advance will be able to twist their legs like pretzels, curve their backs, straddle their legs, etc. Lastly, the more people involved in the class, the more fun that we have. Overall, check this place out. Your practice is your practice and Breath and Body assists you with expanding and developing it to higher and untraveled levels. I wish that I lived closer to become a regular practicer at this studio, but have been fortunate for the times that I have practiced here. And you conclude with savasana towels.
