Came in with the girls to get a good session in before lunch and pedicures for my birthday…read more It's odd they allow you to book a spot and make a donation ahead of time however said donation doesn't secure your spot. it was a pretty full class when we came in but we were lucky to all get a spot. loved the flow however it seemed the music was way too loud that it was drowning out the instructor, the instructor also stuck to one side of the room so for the people furthest from the window it was really difficult to hear. space was clean and staff was kind as always. bathrooms are quite small- not locker room to change in/out if needed. they do have mats for rent which are $5 limited apparel avaliable for purchase. parking is plenty however you may have a bit of a walk depending on how busy the plaza is at the time. would come back and maybe try sitting nearest the middle or window to see if that helps on the hearing issue.

Classes break down like this: 'Align' feels more yoga-based, 'Define' leans into weights, and 'Classic' mixes both. After about 10 classes, I definitely feel stronger and more toned, even going twice a week. Plus, the schedule is flexible. When I was out sick for 2 weeks , Jazmine checked in on me and even added a class credit without me asking. As someone new, it really boosted my confidence and made me feel like they genuinely care about their members. Only downside: the Classic class is so popular that (IMO) it can get a bit packed.

Workouts are updated once every 3 months or so but you can always turn down the volume and do your own thing instead of following along. The team does a great job keeping the saunas clean. Almost all the people using this gym are conscientious and quiet. So far there are many time slots where there are not many if any people signed up so you can have the sauna all to yourself (I've only shared the room one time). Easy to book. Fairly easy to use the app. The door has both a coded lock and an app for entry for 24-7 access. Easy parking in this little plaza. There is a bike rack at the far end of the building but I chain up my bike near the ramp nearby.

Gundega's Yoga classes are a great work out, and help me better cope with demands from a stressful job. I find Yoga to be a great way to clear my mind, build strength, and tone muscle. I always feel amazing after class and the following day. The studio is in a residential neighborhood in North Austin which I remember feeling much less intimidating than attending for the first time at a big studio. Gundega is a great teacher, very instructive and knowledgable, and always keeps the mood positive and light. Classes are well attended but never uncomfortably large at the studio. Highly recommended!

My instructor, Ivonete, had a unique style that heavily focused on using multiple muscle groups at once and posture. We used many weight machines, and rather than simply doing the default movement that worked one body part, she taught us methods to engage both core and legs, or both legs and arms. It was just me and one other woman in the class, so when we both expressed a little confusion about exactly what Ivonete meant about certain postures, she put things on hold and took a lot of time to carefully explain and show to us the right way to do it. I love when instructors truly spend time working closely with you to make sure you have the right form, as it makes sure you aren't injured and maximize the workout. This workshop was out in Solidago Gardens, which is secluded from the rest of the resort. I walked past a stone labyrinth (pictured below) and approached a building enclosed in a stone wall that looked like an Asian temple. I entered the courtyard, and there was a waterfall fountain. I opened two large wooden doors and entered a stunning wooden room with a high ceiling and skylight. It truly felt like a sanctuary or temple in China or Asia. Susan, my instructor, was a lovely woman who was soft-spoken and soothing. She discussed the anatomy of breathing, and how being conscious of our breathing can help us in our day-to-day lives. She had me lie down and close my eyes, and she talked me through a very relaxing breathing exercise. After that, she told me that breath work can help us in several situations in life. There is a type of breathing that helps energize you and pumps energy into your veins (if you've done Bikram, it's the Pranayama breathing you use at the beginning of class). There is a type of breathing that helps relax you when you're stressed and anxious, and there's a type of breathing that can help drift you into sleep or meditation. There is one other type that now I'm forgetting. She let me choose which strategies I was most interested in and taught them to me. There is a basketball gym for shooting hoops, an indoor pool and hot tub, sauna, steam room, and an outdoor fitness area with weights and a small turf area for active exercise. There's also a recovery area with hydromassage chairs, a red light treatment room, and cryotherapy booth. The small additional cost for unlimited use of these facilities is a huge bargain if you consider what it would cost to get Cryo treatments for example at a local shop. The gym is kept in good condition-equipment is repaired quickly and the locker rooms are very clean. Some of the decor is dated having been converted from a 24 Hour Fitness unit but it's not bad at all. Staff is super friendly and eager to help. Highly recommended.
