I rarely go out of my way to post a negative review, but as someone planning a wedding, knowing that many other brides are here for the same reason, I must share my extremely unprofessional experience with Aly. Aly came recommended & has great photos/reviews. My fiance and I booked her for two trials (2 brides). We were booked with Carrol on Aly's team. If you're like me and don't generally wear makeup and are hoping for an extremely natural/light look I can't suggest Carrol. I'm sure other artists can do this, but not Carrol. However, my fiance's makeup looked great! When booking, we were told that the artist would be available for our date. We paid over $500 for our two trials. I didn't like my look but Carrol ran late with our timing, so I was willing to make adjustments for our wedding date post-trial. Carrol assured us during our trial that she would be available on our wedding date. On 3/20/22 (after our trial) my fiance let Aly know via text that we wanted to book Carrol for our September wedding. Included in the same text, was a question about how to send Carrol a tip and Aly only replied to the tip question from the text. On 5/2/22 my fiance texted Aly again confirming the booking and Aly let her know that Carol was not available for our date but that she had other artists available. I've never been married, but my understanding of a trial is to work with the artist who will be there on your wedding day to perfect your look and make adjustments in advance. We were told multiple times that Carrol was available for our date, then suddenly she was not, leaving us feeling deceived. I told my best friend about this experience. Yesterday she left a review on Aly's Yelp page bc I don't generally review things and didn't feel a need, but my friend wanted to spare another bride from having a similar experience. Aly replied privately with confusion from the negative review. Aly claimed she spoke with my fiance in March and didn't hear anything about wanting to book until May, HOWEVER Aly resent my fiance her own text from 3/20 which included my fiance asking Aly to book Carrol for us, to which Aly replied to the tip question in the text, giving no booking next steps. After the negative review, Aly also texted my fiance saying that she can't hold artists until there's signed paperwork, a deposit, and that we should have followed up because she is too busy running her business to follow up. Again, this is my first wedding and maybe call me ignorant, but generally businesses send paperwork/invoices, & the client does not create that out of thin air or continuously follow up, considering they're not familiar with a business' processes. Aly also texted my fiance that she is "a small business, works her ass off & has kids and a family to support" and our "negative review will affect her family's livelihood and future income and she's very untrusting of our business relationship at this point...." and we should cancel the contract (that doesn't exist because she never sent one) and find another artist. Aly's unprofessional business conduct created a huge mess for us. We had to find new hair/MUA and pay for ANOTHER two trials, because Aly's artist was not available for our wedding date after we had been told multiple times that she was. I have taken a second job to cover wedding expenses and spending $550 on trials with an artist who would be unavailable on our date, wasn't easy for us. Aly tried to make this OUR fault, but in reality she is extremely unprofessional and the manner in which she texted my fiance was completely inappropriate. Instead of trying to rectify the situation, Aly went after us as the problem, even while referencing her own lack of follow up. Aly replied to my friend's review claiming the information was false and that they don't charge $500 for bridal previews. She also said that bc my friend was not their client this review was based on false pretenses. In reality, Aly's reply is actually a false claim because we paid $550 for two bridal previews, screenshot attached. She then went to Yelp to get the review removed bc it was not directly from a customer....well now it is. Do not book Aly unless you're okay with being lied to, then texted in a churlish manner about things she didn't do being completely your fault. read more

It seems like a mixed bag with these MUAs. There were two of them for the bridal party and 1/2 of the girls came out great and the other half were pretty disappointed. Mature makeup on one of the mothers was really bad. She had to have one of the bridesmaids re-do it. Very splotchy and not at all blended. Her lashes fell off before the wedding started. I would just suggest knowing who you are going to be working with ahead of time, asking for before and afters for those particular artist, and maybe doing a trial session before hand. Overall, I had a good experience working with Aly Rose Beauty. For future brides, note that there are A LOT of makeup and hair artists working for this company and you don't necessarily have control over which artist you're booking with. I didn't know who my HMUA was until the trial and her portfolio wasn't shared with me so I had zero clue what her style was. If this is something you care about, I would suggest asking prior to booking for the name of your HMUA + pictures of their work. There were a few hiccups with my trial and communication/organization leading up to the wedding, but the team fixed the issues and the day of the wedding went smoothly. I was supposed to have a new HMUA after my trial and that didn't happen, but luckily it all worked out and they were kind enough to add on a second HMUA to help speed things along the day of my wedding. Horrible makeup of Mother of the bride March 7; 2024. My makeup was applied for $125 with others in the Bridal party member. I had this done so I would look my best for the wedding. I let the makeup company know I have a dry skin complexion so I use a moist makeup , very good quality. I did this when I paid and at time I was about to have makeup applied. during the reception i went to the restroom and when I washed my hands and looked in the mirror...
