Chickens, chickens, & more chickens!!! If you want a Mexican home style breakfast this is the spot. AM cafe is covered in so much cute chicken decor starting at the entrance all the way till the restrooms. I got the chilaquiles with huevos con chorizo and my husband got the chorizo breakfast burrito. Both items were very filling and delicious! The chorizo was cooked all the way through and it wasn't too aromatic. We also shared a short stack of banana nut pancakes that were sooo good! They weren't overly sweet and the nuts gave it a nice texture. I do wish they offered home made salsas, but they had a nice alternative with the fried jalapeño! Definitely a good spot to come and enjoy breakfast without paying crazy prices.

If your looking for a great spot for breakfast than don't like any further because they spot is legit! Came by on a Monday morning at 11:30am with some co workers and found some seating and got served immediately by our kind waitress. Service was great and spot on which was appreciated. Menu is extensive with a great variety of items. It was hard for me to choose since there was so many great options but I went with a Denver omlete and that thing was AMAZING. Huge portion of food and of great quality. I was very pleased with my omlete, a 10/10. All my co workers loved their meal so that's how you know it's a great spot. It's located in an old strip mall and doesn't look welcoming, however once inside, it is colorful and very welcoming! Like the saying -You can't tell a book from its cover, this is true to this cafe. We were greeted and seated at a booth located on the left side of the cafe. We ordered coffee and looked at the menu which has a variety of offerings. They work as a tag team, a very nice young man brought our coffee and stayed to talk for a while, he was followed by the waitress who took our order and finally another young lady who brought our food. The meal was reasonably priced and included 2 of each -German Crepes, eggs, hash-browns and bacon - choice of meat. The German Crepes had just the right amount of lemon and powder sugar, they were so yummy and made perfectly. The eggs were fluffy, buttery and cooked throughly , so good. The hash browns were freshly shredded and cooked to a light golden brown , it was like eating snow flakes just the right consistency- I would have liked them a little crispier but they were hard to resist. The bacon was good but again for me I love crispy bacon and they were cooked but not crisp! What I like about places like this is that you go not expecting anything, and what you get is one of the Best Breakfast I've ever had! Go to AM Cafe you will enjoy every bite!

Haven't been to this place in awhile. There is plenty of parking outside and inside there's open seating in the diner. The decorations in the diner are pretty cool. Farm animals like chickens, hens, and roosters adorn the walls. We found a comfy booth and right away our server arrived and gave us menus to order our meals and that we did. The food was delicious and the service was great. Thank you AM Cafe.

We decided to try AM Café based on the good reviews. The restaurant itself is nicely decorated, and the staff was very friendly, attentive, and welcoming. Our order was taken quickly, and the food came out in a timely manner, which I really appreciated. I also liked that they offered chicken sausage as an option, which was a nice surprise. The pancakes were fluffy and enjoyable. That said, the food overall was just okay for me. Nothing was bad, but the entrées didn't really stand out or feel memorable. With the cost of eating out these days, I personally look for food that feels like a 10/10 experience, and for me, this wasn't quite it. The restaurant was pretty full, so clearly it's popular and well-liked by others, but it just wasn't a place I'd be eager to return to.

The Am Cafe was the perfect casual breakfast spot. It was a locally owned spot in a very unassuming retail center. As you walk in you are greeting by a very friendly staff, the decor is interesting, at first I thought it looking like a classic Mexican restaurant, due to the colors on the walls and the decor. My breakfast was served quickly, I ordered a three egg breakfast with bacon and harsh-browns. Solid breakfast, I would say the beacon could have been a bit more tasty but the rest of the food was perfect. Within the menu you will find a large variety of basics like, burgers, sandwiches, senior menu, and omelets. The pricing was very reasonable. Looks like the local police stop by there was 4 cop cars outside and many police enjoying coffee, so I guess it's a safe space.

Seat yourself. Cute little diner farm vibes with a lot of rooster display. I ordered the farmhand special with cinnamon roll pancake, DELICIOUS! Perfect portions, the cinnamon roll pancake was a great dessert after the bacon/eggs/hashbrown. Hashbrowns were crispy & soft, eggs were cooked the way I asked. It does get hot in the restaurant though, but not as hot as it is outside. Overall great place for breakfast/lunch.

found this gem here in Lancaster and I am very impressed. It is a cute place that's decorated with lots of chickens. Makes it feel homey. We were able to sit wherever we wanted and the waitress attended us right away. She took our drink orders and brought them out promptly. She took our food orders and then we waited for the food. The food was amazing. I had the banana walnut French toast, my brother in law had the cinnamon pancakes and my husband had steak and eggs. Overall it was quite delicious, the prices were great and will definitely go back.

Good food, large portions, ok service. The lady who served me for whatever reason could not remember that I asked her for more water and I had to keep asking her. I had the Spinach omelette and it was great. The buttermilk pancakes served with it were some of the best pancakes I've had in a long time, in my opinion better than iHop. I'd come here again for breakfast. read more

My husband and I go to a different cafe or diner local every week so far between crazy Otto and Jackie's cafe or even scramblez this place is a first and last time opportunity. As pictured both of our eggs Benedict where horrible the sauce was like it has been reconstituted the only good thing at this place would have to be the water and coffee because everything else was not up to par.. Sooooo good!!! We were passing through on our way to LAX, and were looking for a breakfast spot. I honestly picked it because of the drool-inducing pictures of pancakes on here. I was not disappointed! I got the peach cobbler pancakes combo and my hubby got the veggie omelet. He absolutely raved about how fresh the veggies in his omelet tasted, and loved the home fries. My pancakes were insanely good! Just the right proportion of ingredients to taste like an actual peach cobbler, but you know you're still eating yummy, fluffy pancakes. On top of the delicious food, our service was wonderful. I didn't catch the server's name, but she was so friendly without being overbearing and annoying. This place is a diamond in the rough for sure. The outside and location can be deterring, but the interior is cute and cozy! The staff here is so kind and friendly. Bring your appetite because they have large portions here. Freshly made home style dishes. Only open 6am to 2pm, but burgers and sandwiches are also available. Family run, nice and homey atmosphere. All the basic stuff is good here- pancakes, biscuits and gravy, home fries, french toast, omelets and waffles. Although I'd suggest getting the fruit on the side for the waffles unless you don't mind yours being soaked to a pulpy mess. Two highlights here are their omelets and scrambles. The Ortega chile, cajun chicken, bacon and cheese, and the AM omelet are the best of the bunch. Not quite as tasty as Crazy Otto's, but AM gives them a good run for their money. The scrambles are pretty good and filling also. They range from the simple ones with just eggs, potatoes and cheese to more elaborate ones that include jalapenos, mushrooms, onions, chili, green peppers, sausage, bacon, ham and pretty much anything u can find in the kitchen thrown in. For the kids they also have over 20+ cold cereals to choose from. read more

My group stopped here on the way to a day trip in the Sierras. It's very cozy, the servers seemed to know all the customers by name. Our server did a little dance welcoming us to the restaurant. It's super kitschy with roosters EVERYWHERE. Prices are reasonable, especially since the portions are pretty substantial. I ordered the ham and cheese crepe, another had the bacon waffle (A+). They also serve something called jalapeño corn cakes which I hope to try one day! read more

This is for a very large order that I placed for an appreciation breakfast for everyone on my job site. Not many people were willing to take on my order or call me back but Mike provided me an excellent price for...525 breakfast burritos. Not only that but he delivered it to my site in Mojave, which is kind of in the middle of nowhere and I really appreciated that. I got a great variety of bacon, ham, sausage, chicken, machaha and a veggie option with egg whites. He delivered everything in coolers so it was all pretty warm and everyone loved the burritos, so thank you for making the appreciation breakfast a hit. I did eat here one time before for breakfast and enjoyed it, I don't get on here enough to review stuff as I should but I believe in supporting local businesses and I am very happy that I went with A.M. cafe for my large order. read more

Went to the Early Bird thrifting at American Way and needed a nice breakfast pick me up, and AM Cafe didn't disappoint!! I originally saw a coupon in the paper and figured we might as well try it while we could get a little discount. Plus, who doesn't love a good home cooked breakfast when your mom is nowhere to be found? Or unwilling to make a 21 year old adult breakfast, but I digress. Dutch apple French toast was out of this world and the apricot crepes were just as amazing! Got a side of hash browns but realized we never even need them!! Also love the "cheers" like feel of the place. We saw regulars strolling into their favorite booths and waitresses asking about their lives and getting the usual started for them, so cool! Glad a place like this is in the AV and well definitely be back to try more!! read more

The food was prepared to perfection for its cost. The home potatoes were seasoned well, did not taste ordinary compared to your typical low cost breakfast joint. The carrot cake pancake is a must try. The ambiance was warm and welcoming. This place was great value and probably the best breakfast place in the AV. read more

Breakfast menu is a variety of deliciousness for any palette. A unique find in this area. I was so excited to try the rare breakfast fare I had to order 3 dishes. I've been here 3 times and each time food is good and servers are always nice.The cafe is usually not full, but the food can take a while. The food is a lot cheaper than other diners and if you finish all your food apparently you get stickers. The amount of food you get is always a lot so I never ended up finishing all my food. read more

They're only open for breakfast and lunch. I've really only ordered breakfast there so that's what this review will primarily focus on. I'm a huge breakfast fan and will often eat breakfast food for lunch. That's what makes this place appealing to me. When you go, make sure to try their pancakes. They have like a dozen different types and they're all good but my favorite has to the be the banana walnut. Good prices, good portions and a very friendly staff. They used to be on Sierra Highway so make you're going to the new location on 10th St West, just south of Ave J. It's in a older shopping center so it looks kind of sketch from the outside. Don't let that stop you from trying a good local spot for breakfast. read more

I've come here SEVERAL times with my family and they're always so friendly. When you walk in ore welcome to sit where ever you'd like. They're very quick with bringing out drinks and orders. Came here while visiting Edwards AFB and I must say that I've enjoyed my breakfast here. Service was A+ awesome! The staff are very attentive and I never had to stare at the bottom of my coffee mug wondering if I'll ever get a refill. I ordered eggs Benedict and I've enjoyed it very much! Most places make theirs overly salty but I like how AM's wasn't and if I did want to make it saltier then I had the freedom to add more salt. I've also tried a bite of my friends' breakfast. I can't recall what they had but I remember liking theirs as well. I highly recommend this place to anyone who is looking for great service, food, and relaxing unique decor. read more

Had a fantastic experience. My waitress was AMAZING! I needed a quiet place to be alone and she gave me a booth that I felt was private and she was VERY attentive! Great spot! It is my first time being here and it is great. Right away we were greeted and felt super comfortable. The whole place is well lit and very cozy. Our waitress was great. It took no time to get our coffee on the table. Now something my boyfriend is always complaining about is his coffee getting low and having to ask for more. Here we had coffee before our cups where even at the half way mark. The menu has plenty to offer and the food was delicious! This is going to be a place we visit often. read more

Wow! This place is a hidden gem! Everything we have tried was very good! Worthy of Guy Fieri to visit! My favorite is their Eggs Benedict with Avocado! We use to drive up to Paula's in Solvang for them.....no longer will we do that! I don't understand peeps complaint on service.....they are very accommodating and efficient! read more

My brother and I go here for lunch about 2 times a month. We love the waitresses they are AWESOME - super friendly and really good to the customers. We have never been disappointed with our food here!!! And I have tried almost all of there soups and they are all really really good. Affordable and Local!!!! Literally the nastiest omelet I've ever had. We went when it was quite busy but the wait time was absurd for what we received! Service was slow but the lady was nice. When we asked for 2 coffees and a juice we only received one coffee and had to remind the lady of the other. The omelet I ordered had cheese on top of it and it looked and smelled disgusting, I wanted it away from me as soon as I got it. Disappointed. read more

What a selection of pancakes! The best and the peach creation I had was yummy. Other people I went with had burgers and they enjoyed them also. Homestyle fries are yummy also. The person who ordered the omelet wasn't so thrilled. Service was casual and friendly. Enjoyed it and will go back again. It's not fancy. It's a diner with good food, prices and service. read more

A true hidden jem in the antelope valley. First thing I have to mention is the amazing pancakes. They are perfect size for me and they have so many varieties of them. My two favorite are the apple and blueberry they are so good. The omelets are so good. And you must try there salsa. The staff is always friendly when I go. read more

Upon entering we were seated promptly to a family of six. They have quiet a variety of breakfast and lunch options and me being a pancake addict I loved the various options. I didn't have much of an issue with my breakfast because the thrills chocolate pancake was absolutely delish but my hsibamds omelete was just ok and the cheese wasn't fully melted on the outside or inside. Father in law ordered eggs Benedict and wasn't pleased that his eggs were still raw so they gave him a recommendation as to how to order poached eggs but other places haven't had that issue. Don't even ask. Apparently the chef's policy is absolute. Ambiance 4-5 nicely decorated and designed. Has a high end feel that is unusual for the AV. So why the 3 stars? One single experience. My wife asked the server (Jackie) if it would be possible to get a side of sauteed mushrooms. She said probably not as it's not permitted by the chef. We asked to speak to the manager to express our disappointment. When Jake showed up, before we uttered a word, he stated that it's just something they don't do, so no to our request. Then he turned and walked away. There was no dialogue. It was a one way conversation. In essence, we and our request were dismissed. The experience was incredibly off-putting. It was unnecessary to respond to a patron's request in that manner. Totally unacceptable. I write this review to memorialize the experience for others, because it won't matter to the owner/chef/management. It seems, judging by their total lack of response to other reviews, good or bad, that it really doesn't. Typical dinners we've had run a tab of $150-200 (including tip). We have visited 1-2 times a month for the past two years. We have brought friends and family on several occasions, generating additional per-visit revenue for the restaurant. Again, this doesn't seem to matter. So, sadly, we're going to have to take a leave of this place. Too bad really.

Get a little flame on your steaks to bring out the flavor and let it acclimate a little bit before you throw it on the grill so it stays juicy. Use fresh vegetables, not frozen or cooked and reheated the next day. The service was great BTW. Only I could tell she knew I wasn't enjoying my meal, which is probably why she didn't ask me how I liked it. On the other hand I had an excellent meal at Broken Bit steakhouse not far from here the day before. The chef should go there and learn something. Oh yeah and my meal was $10 less there.

If AM Cafe had a fan club, I'd be the president after my first visit to AM Cafe. The staff made us feel like regulars--even though it was our first time. Attentive, friendly, and somehow always appearing exactly when we needed something (coffee refill magic is real, apparently). Now let's talk about the food. The value? Outstanding. The portions? Generous. And the pancakes? I'm still thinking about them. Fluffy, golden, perfectly balanced between sweet and buttery--honestly, some of the best I've ever had. The kind of pancakes that make you pause mid-bite and say, "Wow," to no one in particular. This has become our go-to breakfast place. The food is well-prepared, inexpensive (especially with their two-fer coupons!) and plentiful. We always end up taking some home. Service is very efficient and friendly, and they will cook to order. Have never had a bad meal or experience here! read more
