Extraordinarily average. Don't know how this place rates a "4.2". Most I would give it is a "3". Staff was pleasant. I ordered eggplant parm but server never asked what type of pasta I wanted as the side (just brought overcooked rigatoni). The marinara sauce was watery and tasteless, completely lacking in spices. The eggplant was cooked well and appeared to be actual slices of eggplant, but again lacked any seasoning in the breading. Overall extremely mediocre. read more

While out of town for work I stopped at this place for dinner. When I arrived I parked in their lot. I walked in and sat at the bar. Lori was my bartender and she was nice. I started with the raspberry lemon drop martini and it was very tasty. I also had pinot nior and it was tasty. For my meal I got the Mediterranean haddock and linguini meal. When the meal came out the fish came separately and the pasta came out with marinara which I wasn't feeling. So they put the meal together. I dug in and it was just ok tasting. I had to add salt, pepper, and hot pepper flakes. My experience was decent and the bill was affordable. read more

Very nice place. Friendly staff they all work hard on the ball constantly! Food was delicious they even made my chicken parm with fradiavlo sauce for me. Their sauce is amazing!!!! Eat here! I'm not kidding. My husband and I were traveling and decided to stop in based on cuisine (the menu looked good!) and yelp reviews. From the minute we walked in we were welcomed warmly, questions were answered thoughtfully, and we were treated very well. A+ for customer service. We ordered two entrees and a side of pasta. Each entree came with a cup of soup or a side salad. I got the mushroom bisque and my husband got the salad. He was torn between two dressings, house or strawberry vinaigrette. The waitress said, I'll bring you both! The only negative thing i have to say is that there was a charge on our bill for the second salad dressing! Ouch! Truth is, we enjoyed the food and service so much, we didn't complain. If we had, I'm sure they would have removed it. While we were waiting the brought soft Italian bread in a basket with butter and Parmesan cheese. The soup and salad arrived quickly with a complimentary couple of slices of their signature square pizza-which was piping hot and delicious! All the food arrived hot which is one of my favorite things. It's a pet peeve of mine when hot food arrives Luke warm or cold. Hot food should arrive hot so another A+!! My husband had chicken Marsala and penne pasta - and a second bread basket to sop up the Marsala sauce. Despite his best efforts, he couldn't finish! I had the lasagna which was baked in its own dish and was huge. We shared a side of fettuccini Alfredo which was so creamy and smooth and made with home made pasta! We asked the server if she could put the bread remains into out doggie bag and she gave us a fresh serving of bread and butter! All items were boxed and then wrapped in plastic wrap to prevent leaking! A nice touch - she remembered we were traveling. It would have been easy for her to disregard us as one time customers but they were so good to us! We will definitely be returning! Annual (or more frequent?) trip to Poconos! read more

Excellent food service and staff. Never had anything bad there always fresh and delicious.

Highlights - the risotto. Typically only offered on Fridays and Saturdays, but on a Sunday our waitress said they would also make it that day. I, of course, had to get it then. I got the white risotto with shrimp and added chicken. It was a hefty portion which I was pleasantly surprised by. I had lunch leftovers for 2 days after that! The misses - everyone in my party (3) ordered one of the specialty cocktails on the board when you first walked in. My drink had canned peach chunks in it. I could not taste any alcohol, just tasted like aluminum fruit cocktail. I tried the others, and the one similar to a bay breeze was the only decent drink and also the only one you could actually taste the alcohol (Malibu rum). The other tasted like a cherry jelly rancher, but again, no alcohol. It's not a very large restaurant, and while I understand we arrived at about 7PM, we were weirdly asked if we had a reservation. It was weird because there were maybe only 3-4 other parties seated, seemingly plenty of room for the 3 of us. But the hostess acted as if we were a huge bother because we hadn't planned ahead and made a reservation. I would come back on the weekend for the risotto. We were traveling and stopped in Scranton on a Saturday night turned away from four restaurants due to wait of over an hour. Happened upon Amadeo's and are we glad we did. They we extremely accommodating and we were seated right away! Our order was taken quickly as each dish is made to order they brought out bread and the salads right way very delicious. The entrees were perfect I had Panko Haddock with a lemon butter sauce with capers so good with a side of penne with Marinara sauce. I have to say the Marinara was one if the best I every had. My husband had the veal with a soicial hose made SS ce that he raved about! We can surely recommend stopping her for great service and food! read more

Not very pleased at all. Went to eat around 730/8 on a Friday night. Was seated rather quick and ordered a glass of wine. 3 different people came over to the table asking for our drink order so it seemed like there was a bit of confusion as to who exactly was supposed to be the waitress. Waited over an hour for our dinner to be served. Had to flag someone down to get another drink which took about 20 minutes to get after asking. People running around all over (seemingly rushing to close up) there was only 2 other patrons in the restaurant so it shouldn't have been a problem getting service. About ten after 9 asked if I could just get the food wrapped and get the bill... 10 minutes later the food is brought out which I'm not even in the mood for and I asked for it to be wrapped so now I just ask again for boxes so I can pay and leave. Someone comes over and asks how everything was and I said we waited over an Hour for food so not really great, he response to me was "I dont know who your waitress was" and she just walked away. I had the pork calabrese which was super good but it's my second time being there and the service awful and it's not worth the aggravation of ever going back. read more

So it is a 2 1/2 for me. Cute place. Outdoor seating was delightful on this beautiful evening. Salad that came with meal was delightful. There were four of us. 3 of us got franchaise dishes.... mistake. This meal had little, if any flavor at all. The sauce needed more lemon, more garlic or onion, more fat (butter) and more depth. It was like they didn't season the chicken, egg mixture, pasta water or sauce at all. I always think things are too salty and I actually added salt to the dish. I will say it was not terrible, but it was not good. The star of the table was my friend's chicken marsala which was one of the best marsala's I have tasted and generously sauced. This dish lacked no seasoning and I will return for it. I also tried her red sauce on her penne side and it was good, not great but good. Disclaimer... I am from NY where we are blessed to have the best Italian food outside of Italy so I am picky. Service was good. Don't get the franchaise but go out of your way for the marsala! Oh and the bread is terrible like most NEPA restaurants. Boy do I miss the freshly baked crispy chewy NY style Italian bread but hey, bonus to save on calories and carbs if you are counting! read more

Great food! Authentic Italian favorites. Unlike other Italian restaurants, the sauce is not over powering or too much. If you are having Pasta, the fettuccine is a MUST. Handmade and delicious. Wife had eggplant parmigiana which was fresh mozzarella and fresh eggplant. Chickpea starter is delicious. Service is outstanding and always willing to make your time and food enjoyable. I came up to the are for snow tubing w my son. He went down once and refused to go again. On a good note, we discovered this wonderful restaurant. My brother and I had dinner last night. The food was very good, the prices are medium. Warning - Keep a copy of a menu at the table. Our checks were separate and both were wrong. They might get away with that with a lot of the clientele, but not us. I was charged $2.70 more for vodka sauce and it was never explained. Showed as an option on the menu without any mention of a surcharge and the waitress did not tell me. She did not offer to remove the charge which would have made me happy and was all that was required. Not a good move in this digital age. My brother's bill was $4.75 high and that one was fixed. You have to check. It was our first and last time there. Such a shame. So many nicer and friendlier northern Italian restaurants in the Scranton area. We are blessed with them. read more

Every once in awhile you come across a true gem. This was the case on our way from Buffalo, NY to the Bronx to see a Yankees game with my boys. The service was fantastic, I had a house wine which was pleasant and surprisingly full flavored. The rigatoni and sausage was amazing. The sauce had a nice flavor and the sausage was well seasoned. My son had the crab alfrado which he loved. My youngest had the pizza which also was homemade and seasoned with olive oil and cooked perfectly. My wife had the clams as well as my aunt. Everyone enjoyed the food and the service. The inside of the restaurant is nicely decorated, the music is what you would expect in a quaint Italian little Italy. We have already decided to come back for a AAA game just to eat here again. Thank you for the great experience. read more

We stopped here for lunch. We had the mushroom bisque which was delicious. I had a Caesar salad with homemade dressing which was also very good. I had lasagna which was good but not great. I like my lasagna to have a little more kick to it with Italian spicy sausage. My wife had chicken cacciatore and she really liked it. What a cute, old school Italian place. The wait staff was attentive and kind (we had our two toddlers with us). The food was delicious. This place is so popular and I'm not sure why other than the huge wasteful portion size. Their speciality is risotto and they serve a portion size that I would put out for a family of four. It's good, but doesn't taste like authentic risotto cooked for 45 minutes. Tastes like rice with heavy cream and cheese sauce. I would love this place and frequent it more if they served a reasonable portion at a lesser price. I don't need to take home enuf food for the next three days. This seems to be their claim to fame. Can't think of a better spot for a dinner with friends. The complimentary pizza appetizer was crisp and delicious. They also serve a chick pea salad dressed with a balsamic vinaigrette ...perfect preview into what's to come. Veal calabrese had heat and mucho flavor. Did I get scammed? Please if you dine here read the check throughly. Found 3@ 27$ ceaser salad entree on bill. Three of us dimes here. We shared an appetizer and we each got our own entree which comes with a side soup or salad. The waitress asked if I want soup or salad. I ordered a salad with ceaser dressing. The other two got the same. The salads came out and I thought they were a bit large but all the other reviews say how big thier portions are. I didnt think twice. Plus no soup came out so this had to be the side salad right? Wrong! She charged us each for entree version. We got no side salad or no soup that was included. Ok so the server made a mistake. Mistakes happen. No not here apparently. I asked the server to please take the ceaser entree off the check as we did not order them. After a 5 min debate she finally went in the back to talk to the owner melissa. Melissa would not take them off order. So we got charged an entree ceaser salad and we didnt get a side soup or salad? And not taking it off bill?! Leads me to believe it's a scam. I really want to take it in good faith as mistake but handling it poorly left me feeling negative. By not taking it leaves me to sit there embarrassed and upset as other in the restaraunt sit and watched. The waitress did not apologize and her dont give a crap attitude really made me more upset. I said I will not pay. She goes back to kitchen for the second time and they took half price off each salad. I was so mentally taxed, I just paid the half. This is unacceptable. Handled it poorly. The owner should have come out to hear our side of the story. Later on I found out from a friend who knows the owner that the waitress lied to her and told her that we did indeed order entree salad version! No accountability either because the waitress blamed my friend who brought us there saying "she should have known better." What?! None of us work there. It is. Ot any of our responsiblity to have known. We are not a restaraunt expo. I just cannot wrap my head around how someone can confuse side salad with entree version when they clearly see us eating entree salad version and a side soup or salad never came out. I cannot see the confusion. However if the owner just acknowledged our grievance, I would not be writing this post. I will never come here again. Nor will my friend who dined with me that night, and neither will my friends or family. read more
