That day, the person at the front was nice and helpful. I didn't know what to expect, since it was my first time. I was a little late. I didn't realize the traffic was going to be as bad as it was, however, I did call to let them know I was going to be late. There is a grace period but I didn't know how strict or not they were about it. I get to my appointment and right away, it's not a friendly and welcoming vibe. The person at the front (who was different than the one I had seen earlier the week before) and the person who worked on my hair seemed like they didn't want to be there at all and it showed. Bottom line - not worth it. I love treating and pampering myself, and this experience was quite frankly - awful. At times, it was actually painful because she just didn't care and was pulling my hair. I actually held my breath at times because I thought she was going to burn me with the hair tool. The one I went to was a head spa, but a Chinese one. This one is Japanese and has the same features as what I have been reading about in Japan. So they start out with a scalp review, showing you how bad your scalp is. Like last time, I had a lot of buildup. I was offered more treatment for dandruff, dry scalp and didn't take the upsell for more treatment. Then I'm led into a dim room and offered a chair. They add a protective layer so I don't get wet, and cover my in a soft blanket and an eye mask. The process of washing my hair with various water and products was similar as the other head spa, but here my scalp was focused on 90%, whereas the Chinese one did a facial more than my scalp. After the head spa, I paid extra for them to dry my hair. I don't think it was worth the $45 but I wanted to pamper my mom so I splurged. They said they offer hair dryers so I guess you could DIY. 3 head spa with an added blow out came to $495. Tip was paid in cash. My mother commented that her hair felt so soft and luxurious. That's worth the money right there.

I gave a 4-star rating on Fresha and was then contacted by Ashley, whom I had never met, asking why I didn't give a 5. I explained honestly that I felt the price was quite high. Ashley proceeded to berate me about how the price was more than fair and also criticized me for being late. I was actually in the building but had difficulty finding the office, which was tucked away in a maze of hallways with no one at the entrance to greet or direct me. If you ask customers for their opinions, you should be prepared to receive honest feedback--even when it isn't exactly what you hoped to hear. The comments Ashley made about my review and my opinion were unnecessary and, in my opinion, extremely unprofessional. I truly wish Anaiyah the best because she was wonderful, but unfortunately, I will not be returning due to Ashley's defensiveness and handling of the situation. I'm looking forward to my next appointment at a much more affordable location. :)

Moreover, maturity level has a lot to do with it. Location: Salon is located near the Bay Club, the location is beautiful and plenty to do afterwards, but not worth it when you leave the salon with results that you clearly advised you did not want to see. Parking: Metered parking, somewhat tight due to gym; however, the salon does provide you a pass. Front desk person: Woman that answers the phone provides the recommendation on who to see based on the description that you give her; altough I'm not sure she is the right person so make those determinations. Color: Failed results at all times, kept saying that it's a process, yet she never invested in achieving the color as we discussed. I felt low and disregarded every single time I left the salon. I paid over $1000 to not obtain the results in each session. When I shared my concerns with her and advised that the incorrect color was used, she became distant, ghosted me on text and was not honest about when she was in the office. I called the salon and the woman at the front told me she was there. I feel cheated and hurt. There is no salon manager, no one that cares or that you can speak to about your concerns. Payments are done directly to the stylist.
