Amanda Skye is no doubt great at what she does, HOWEVER, she seriously lacks in the customer service department. She lags in sending photos, which is annoying, especially in a business where clients are obviously looking forward to receiving their photos asap. Amanda quoted my husband and I "about 2 weeks" turnover for our newborn photos, but it actually took over a MONTH for her to send them. We wanted to share our baby's photos with family at least by her 2 months (it was a 1 month photoshoot), but nope, no photos from Amanda and no word nor response to follow-up emails. She is also extremely slow in responding to messages. Why do I have to keep following up? We paid a good deal of money and even tipped her. Super frustrating. I wouldn't recommend her to anyone looking to get milestone photos turned around within a reasonable amount of time. When she finally responded, she still lagged with sending my photos. And when she finally sent the photos, she didn't even include the bonus pictures of my newborn's hands and feet that I was supposed to receive for paying in cash. Of course, Amanda didn't bother to respond when I asked for them. Although we purchased a discounted first year package, I won't be contacting her again. There are so many other great photographers out there that wouldn't make you wait so long for your photos. Look elsewhere. read more

Where do I begin..I just received the images from our newborn session and I am absolutely in love with them. Amanda did such an amazing job! My entire experience with her was wonderful! *For starters, her packages and pricing are straightforward- no nickel and diming. I mention this important detail because sadly this is not always the case with every photographer and can prove to make the entire experience more frustrating than it needs to be. I can't forget to mention, very affordable too. * Her home studio is well equipped with tons of props and accessories to help create cutest photos...just bring the baby! *Patience is a virtue and she has got lots of it! After the first couple days with my newborn, I had a feeling that he may not cooperate easily during the shoot. I was right! lol...but Amanda did not let it phase her. She was incredibly patient with him and she worked very hard (even going past our shoot time) to get all the images and she did! I was amazed at how patient she was. She was so great with our baby. She kept the temperature very warm and there was relaxing mellow music and white noise in the background so it was a very calm environment for the babies. She has TONS and TONS of different accessories, props and backdrops to create unique photos. I was skeptical at first since her price point was lower than the outrageously high prices in the Irvine area where we live, but a family friend referred her to me, so I went for it and I initially only booked a newborn session; but was so happy with the results that I booked a 6 month and 1 year cake smash package shortly thereafter. I came across Amanda while I was searching for newborn photos for my son. As a first time mom I was shocked to find that many newborn photoshoots cost insane amount of money. Also, most photographers use excessive props, which I personally do not like. I just wanted a few simple, gender neutral (no pink/blue explosion) photos that still look great when we look back 30 years from now. I liked that Amanda's photos on her website was simple and classic. Just what I was looking for. I found Amanda's home studio to be cozy. She has couches for tired new parents to relax/nap in while she snaps away. Parking was easy, right out front. Her studio has SO MUCH fabric in every shade and material, and lots of bows and headbands for girls. But no crazy, tacky props, just a few simple set up that just highlights the baby. I let her know ahead of time I wanted neutral colors and she had already picked out the fabrics when we arrived. The photoshoot itself was a bit longer than I thought (I think it says 90 mins on website but took nearly 3 hrs) but I THINK it's because her assistant couldn't make it (Amanda said she was coming but she never showed). Regardless, Amanda did everything seamlessly on her own. She was very gentle and patient with our baby, who was a bit fussy at times. Amanda's photoshoot was priced very competitively and the final set of photos I received were just what I wanted. I used them for our birth announcement and everyone LOVED them. Amanda is amazing. We first visited her studio for shots of our infant/toddler in 2013 and recently returned to her for outdoor family photos. She suggested a location and captured our photos in a park with a lake, trees, trails and even got a sunset. She was great at holding our child's attention and her rates are really reasonable.
