I can't say enough good stuff about Amanda's, My first experience with this place was actually 8 years ago when my friend was getting married and looking for a dress. So naturally the babe stuck in my head for when it was finally my turn! I don't consider myself to be a picky person, but I am very quick to decide if I do or do not like something. I am also not the most overly emotional/excitable person, I want to show up, keep it casual and leave with a dress that I love. Enter my consultant Melissa! First off she shows up and immediately matches with my personality and the personality of my group, she and me what I am looking for in a dress and when I throw out vague ideas she happily says "ok I'll work with that and be right back" instead of getting annoyed and trying to get more specific details from me. Melissa quite literally shows up and creates greatness. There was a dress in the first group that she pulled and I absolutely fell in love with it. We still tried on a few more but Melissa didn't push anything on me, she listened to me and was super excited that I had found "the one". Top notch organization with very experienced guest service. Needed to rent a tux for my daughter's wedding. You will need to make two appointments. When I made the first for my fitting, they had a huge selection to chose from. They had about 10 mannequins and two books. They said to take my time and let them know when I was ready to discuss. It took me two seconds. I pointed the mannequin and said I'll take that one. It looked very nice and modern. They took my fitting and my order and I was out the door in 20 minutes. Hey, I'm a guy. LOL. I thought the $220.00 price for one day use was a bit steep. I told the so and they made accommodations to lower it to something more reasonable. Next appointment was to try it on, and take it home. Again, extremely helpful if you have never been in a tuxedo before. Overall, guest service is at the highest level. Be for warned, you will sign a lot of agreements. None of it applied to me, but if you mess around, damage the tux or return it late you will pay the penalty. These are expensive suits. Overall, absolutely recommend for men, brides to be and all the wedding party. They will take great care of you! read more

Now that we are completely done with Amanda's Bridal I can accurately share my entire experience. My first impression was really good - they have a great selection of wedding gowns and bridesmaid dresses at all price levels. My daughter and I had scheduled an appointment to try on wedding dresses while her bridesmaids looked at dresses as well. While trying on dresses, the girls got thirsty and the consultant we were working with didn't say anything as they all went next door to Newks to get drinks. When they came back, she did offer me a bottle of water. I should have known then that they aren't very customer oriented. We didn't end up getting the wedding dress there simply because my daughter decided on a skirt/top combination and they didn't have what she was looking for. We did get the bridesmaid dresses there though. When we were there initially we had all the girls measured and everything was noted under the bride's name. They are almost an hour drive each way so when it was time to order, I called it in. The dress for my younger daughter came in a couple of months later and I picked it up and took it to her. When she tried it on, it was about two sizes too big so we scheduled another appointment at Amanda's to have them look at it. When we came in (another 2 hour round trip drive) they measured her and realized that she was measured incorrectly the first time. We went home while they tried to figure out what to do. They didn't have time to order the dress in the correct size so they agreed to pay the cost of most of the alterations. We scheduled an appointment with the alterations lady - Jane. We showed up for the alterations appointment (another 2 hour drive round trip) and after waiting about 45 minutes past our appointment time, Jane measured and pinned. I asked if she used a dress dummy for the alterations and she said she did not - she sewed everything on a flat surface because she was such an expert. As soon as she found out that my daughter was going to hem the dress herself, Jane became extremely rude. My daughter has been sewing for years and makes all her own (and friends) cos-play costumes so she knows what she's doing. When we tried to schedule the appointment to pick up the dress, Jane said she only had one time available and it was 6 weeks out. That date happened to conflict with my daughter's plans for her one year wedding anniversary but Jane just said that we could take it or leave it. Being that we wanted Amanda's to cover the cost of the alterations because it was their mistake, we took it. The owner of Amanda's, Calli, was nice but didn't really seem to care about the huge inconvenience that they had caused us. She only agreed to cover the cost of taking in the side seams because she said the dress would have needed the straps taken up anyway (which it shouldn't if it was the right size) and the hem done. Fast forward 6 weeks - another 2 hour drive round trip! Jane handed us the dress and asked when we'd like to come back to pick it up after it was pressed. We almost fell over in shock! We said we'd just take the dress with us to avoid ANOTHER 2 hour drive! Jane actually managed to have someone press it while we waited so we don't EVER have to go back! The alterations are ok - not really "expertly" done but at this point (2 weeks from the wedding) we don't have time to do them over. There are holes where you can poke your fingers through in the stitching at the bust and the whole chest area is sewed so badly that the inside seam is pulled to the outside. My daughter will have to pull those stitches out and fix it herself. (I'm posting pictures of the "expert" sewing). So in summary - the bridesmaid dress that cost $160 (with tax) needed $150 in alterations. Not such a great deal anymore. Calli did cover $110 of that cost but never once showed any empathy for the many, many 2 hours drives we had to make due to their mistake. Never said "sorry you don't get to celebrate your anniversary" to my daughter - or sorry our expert alterations person is so rude. You would think that someone in the wedding industry, knowing how the price of everything is so over inflated, would at least try to provide good customer service. I guess they feel like they don't need to create repeat business because the same people don't typically get married every year - but hopefully this review will prevent some heartache for any of their potential, new customers. read more

although I didn't end up getting my dress here (though I did find one that I seriously considered) I think that my Amanda's consultant, Bri, was my favorite of all the people I worked with when looking for my wedding dress. She was patient and far more understanding both of my desire for a modest dress, and my pickiness over buying something as expensive as a wedding dress. I love the dress I ended up picking, but I think I would have been happy with the dress I liked best from here too even though it wasn't quite what I had in mind. My experience here was better than I could have imagined, especially during COVID. My consultant, Heather, was kind, complimentary, and genuine. I had a style in mind of what I wanted but asked her to pull what she thought would look good on me...and every single dress she pulled was beautiful. I'm out here visiting from California and decided on a whim to try on dresses as a sort of trial run to see what I liked (I also didn't tell my mom or anyone I was trying on dresses because I didn't think I would like one at the first place I went to). I just want to tell everyone how amazing of an experience I had here. My dress fitting was so much fun and I was able to bring five friends with me, even during Covid protocol. The staff is amazing, friendly and helpful in many different ways. They helped me get out of my comfort zone and try on dresses I wouldn't typically choose. I found a dress I loved, ordered it but then started having doubts. I called back a few months later crying that I felt I might have liked a different dress more than the one I chose. Calli, one of the girls there comforted me so much through my indecisiveness and was so supportive. We came here on a Sunday for my friend to try on some wedding dresses. My friend set up an appointment at 3pm. When we got there, it took a few minutes for them to find my friend's appointment, and then told us to look around and that her consultant will be with us shortly. She came to us about 10 minutes later. I don't know how it usually goes when you start wedding dress shopping, but shouldn't the consultant introduce herself right off the bat when you arrive and tell you what to do or where to go? The dresses were very pretty there, and I think the fabric and designs are better quality than other stores. This shows in the price though, because the dresses here were more than double the cost of the other stores my friend looked at later. Also, if you want to get a dress here, make sure to look way in advance. We were told that if my friend wanted to get a dress here, she'd have to order it within the next week for it to come in May. read more

I couldn't be happier with my experience at Amanda's Bridal. From the moment we walked in (myself and my 8 person entourage) we were welcomed with smiling faces. Heather came over and greeted us and I could tell she truly wanted to hear what I was looking for. This was the first time I was trying on wedding dresses and I felt so comfortable. My best friend and maid of honor was in the dressing room and put me in each dress so I was never uncomfortable having someone I didn't know in the room. Heather was there waiting for me in each dress to clip and give me her honest opinion. I found my dress with the 3rd one I put on but had to keep going- just to be sure! I had another appointment that day at a different bridal store so I had her write down my dress and told her I would let her know. We went to the other bridal store and had an awful experience. I never once felt comfortable and didn't find one dress that I liked. As we were leaving I decided I wanted to go back to Amanda's just to see my dress again.. Thinking I would need to make another appointment if I wanted to try it on again. I walked in and Heather welcomed us in, pulled my dress, along with a few others, and I was felt so much better. I put my dress on and I knew I wouldn't find anything else I loved more. We were the only ones left in the store after a long day and Heather stayed late to make sure I was measured and take care of all the details in ordering my dress. Amanda's is the only place I will recommend to all of the future brides I talk to. We will also be going there to get the men's tuxes. My mom and I went back last week to try on Mother of the Bride dresses with Heather and again, had the best experience. I'm sure there are other amazing ladies in the store to work with but if you get the opportunity, schedule your appointment with Heather! My wife bought her dress at Amanda's and I rented a suit alongside 11 of my groomsmen. Everyone we worked with was courteous, professional, and very nice. I had an easy time calling and getting questions answered as well. When it came time to measure 12 of us it was all done in a matter of 30 minutes and the suits fit perfectly when they arrived. Quality of the suits were also very nice. They offered a slim fit suit that was perfect for the style I wanted. Another thing I appreciated was how low pressure it was to rent here. I was given a book and left alone to check things out. I had a much different experience at several other places targeted specifically for mens suits(ie men's warehouse). A discount was given to the groomsmen and my suit was free because my wife bought her dress there. I highly recommend Amanda's. read more

Consultant didn't know what she was doing and ordered gown too small for my daughter, it caused an extreme amount of stress for the bride as well as ruining her whole bridal experience. Also, they outsource their seamstresses and cannot price quote on how much alterations will cost and they have no control over this. Seamstress we had for Initial fitting did not listen to brides concerns. It took a while for Amanda's to make it right for us and they eventually did refund money spent there. Not a good experience though and wouldn't recommend. We had to rush to find another wedding gown and this was very stressful. read more

Tonight I visited Amanda's Bridal to try on wedding dresses. I was greeted by friendly staff at the front counter and shortly after checking in for my appointment I was approached by a dress consultant named Tobie. Right from the get go she was amazing. She really listened to what I was looking and picked out stunning dresses. She was incredibly helpful and friendly. She made the whole experience so much fun. She made me feel like a knockout in all the dresses. Finally when I found the one after about 14 dresses her and I both knew instantly we were done trying on dresses. Amanda's Bridal has a wide variety of dresses and really you can find just about anything you are looking for and in a very reasonable budget. I was pleasantly surprised because I told Tobie what my budget was and she kept right on point. This was huge to me because finding a stunning dress on a tight budget seems next to impossible. I wouldn't recommend this shop. It seems very nice at first; it is a convenient one-stop shop for all the wedding attire you'll ever need and the ladies running it are very nice and personable. Otherwise it was a very disappointing experience. Our bridal party all bought the same dress from this shop at a reasonable price, and then they way over charged for alterations, and didn't do very accurate work. The alterations ended up being more expensive than the dresses themselves. And even after putting all that money into having bridesmaids dresses, every single bridesmaid experienced their dress ripping or falling apart by the end of the wedding reception. Zippers tore off, fasteners popped off, shoulder straps were lost. Not a single dress lasted the whole night and some bridesmaids just had to throw their dress away after the wedding was over! I had an awesome experience picking out the most beautiful dress here with my mom. My mom flew into town to go dress shopping with me and this was one of our early stops. There were several dresses that I loved and were very comfortably in my price range (they were very good at keeping me in my price range). When the consultant that I was working with heard that my mom was only in town for a couple of days, she suggested I make a return visit with her that Saturday since she only had two open slots. I'm glad that she made that suggestion because we were back there eager to buy one of the dresses on Saturday. On that return appointment I was debating between three different dresses, and the consultant was very patient to let me try on each of the dresses with all the accessories multiple times. I did not feel pressured at all. The dress I fell in love with had a sample in blush but I wanted an ivory dress. The consultant brought over an ivory dress from that same designer so that I could see what it would look like. The dress I ended up buying was at the high-end of my price range and cost about $1400, but there were many beautiful dresses that were several hundred dollars less (One of my other top choices was $900). I'm posting that because it drives me crazy that you can't find price ranges on any of the bridal shops websites. I did buy my accessories online which saved me some money, they're overpriced in all the shops. The dress arrived several weeks early. I also did my alterations here and was extremely pleased with the quality of the alterations. While the alteration seemed a little expensive to me (but what do I know), I did have a fair amount of beading that needed to be adjusted and boning on my dress and for the quality of alterations it was totally worth it. The alterations were also ready earlier than quoted. Overall, my mom and I were extremely happy with the experience and I've already recommended Amanda's to several friends. read more

Buyer be ware. The bridesmaid dresses looked and felt cheap, were torn, smelled, or dirty, and there is absolutely no privacy for anyone trying on items. I could not even imagine being a bride after the bridesmaid appointment. We had to share a stand with a bride. If I was that bride, I would be so annoyed that I'm sharing my special day with strangers. Our stylist actually clipped one of my bridesmaids back so hard that it welted and took a chunk of skin out- no apology. Furthermore, the seamstress was walking around the store barefoot!! Show some respect for your customers and product. This might be the place for some, but I have found similarly price styles with better options and a better overall vibe. read more
