Shopped today, and cashiers were just as rude as before. Just because someone walks in not dressed to the 9s doesnt mean that u have to treat them like a shoplifter or someone that cant afford your USED crap! If its a money thing, Im guessing I make more then your cashiers and just because Im not afraid to get my hands dirty (& dressed appropriately for someone coming from such a job - hat, jeans, tennis shoes) doesnt mean that u have to treat people so nasty. I agree with a few other posters. The store is very nice, they have a decent selection of clothes, and good brand names too. However, the clothes pricing is often inconsistent and incongruent with the brand or quality of an item. I think J.Crew and Madewell prices are on point but Anthro is a bit high (if I wanted to pay $40 for an Anthro top, I would just shop Anthro's sale rack). I've also purchased Lulu pants from here that were fake. The pants were fine but I wouldn't have bought them had I known. All that being said, you can find some deals every once in awhile. I've only looked at the furniture a few times but it's way over priced in my opinion. All in all, this place is worth a shot for clothes but don't expect to get a great deal (good deal maybe). read more

We brought a group of about 20 middle and high school girls to Amanda's exchange, and they had such a great time. Most of them found something to purchase (varying from shoes, to clothing, to room decor). It was well organized and the staff was very welcoming. We had at least 2 individuals ask if we needed any help, and they didn't seem to mind such a large group of students descending on the store at once : ). We also appreciated that Amanda's Exchange donates to such a variety of charities. The only negative is that we felt it was a little overpriced for being a consignment store. That being said, most of the girls said they would be coming back to shop in the near future! read more

For used furniture, I'd have to say this place is way overpriced. I personally think the clothes are, too. I enjoy thrifting, but didn't feel like I would get a great deal here. That said, they do have quality items, so if you're willing to pay for it, it won't hurt to look, just don't expect garage sale pricing read more

I've been here before but will not go back. The owner and sales people are rude. The prices are high and the smell was very moldy.

The selection was good and they did have some nice items, but the customer service was horrible. No one greeted us when we came in and after 20 minutes in the store we left without buying a thing. The staff was busy talking to each other and one woman in the back by the restrooms could not have been ruder to the woman she was helping. Go in for the merchandise, not the customer service because it's very lacking. These people acted like they were working at Tiffany's - you're working at a thrift store in Indiana making 10.00 an hour.....keep it in perspective. read more

I would definitely recommend consigning here! The staff is so friendly and welcoming. I have never had to wait very long at all. They are well organized and explain to me very clearly what they could accept and couldn't accept. I also get to enjoy free coffee while I wait! :-) I have found many great deals the times I've shopped here. I love Free People, Anthro and Urban Outfitters so I was in heaven finding so many cute things for great prices. They have a wide selection of clothes and accessories and since they get new items all the time, there are always many new things to look at every time I go! There are always such nice and fun employees helping me out. The furniture selection is great. I have bought many pieces of artwork, throw pillows and other decor items from here. My house has looked so much cuter since I've started shopping at Amanda's. If I ever need any new large pieces of furniture in the future, this will definitely be the place I go. I recently joined their email list and now get emails when they're having sales and promotions. You can find some really awesome deals at this store. Overall the store is very well organized and every time my experience there is fun. It's for sure my favorite consignment shop in central Indy! read more

I love shopping at Amanda's. The clothes are organized by store which saves me time searching through racks of clothing I'm not interested in. I can go in every few weeks and head to where I want to look. The clothes are in great shape at other consignment shops I find there are holes or stains and I don't have to worry about that at this shop. I've supplemented my wardrobe and furnished part of my living room with my finds. After years of consignment/goodwill/tag sale shopping I don't go in expecting retail store service. I've several times had employees offer to hold items up front so I could continue to shop. My sister and aunt from out of town always make this a stop when they come to indy. We would love to see more plus size clothing but as a consignment shop it all depends on whats brought in. read more

Have been a consignment shopper for years in another State so just starting to explore shops in indianapolis. Amanda's was the experience I have been used to and looking for here. The shop was merchandised beautifully, clothing sizes arranged correctly with enough room on the rack to easily view each item.The pieces I saw were in pristine condition and reasonably priced. Wide selection of purses as well as jewelry all at varying price points and beautifully displayed. Thought housewares and furniture were fine but can not comment on price as I have not purchased these items for years. Staff was helpful, warm and just added to the upscale boutique feel. BEWARE: DOUBLE CHECK ON CREDIT CARD RECIEPT (not store RECIEPT) THAT YOU WERE GIVEN $25 IF YOU HAVE MET THE APPROPRIATE AMOUNT ON THE STORE PUNCH CARD BECAUSE ITS NOT ALWAYS CREDITED AS THEY VERBALLY CLAIM IN THE TOTAL OWED. My loyal customer card was completely filled. So that earns me $25 on purchase. I owed $3 at checkout and they swiped my credit card. Being in a hurry I didn't ensure the credit card RECIEPT matched the stapled store reciept. Got home and saw discrepancy. Grrr. So I called and the clerk stated she remembered me because it just happened moments ago and she didn't realize until I left the store, further claiming she was intending on crediting me when I came back down the road. BUT she got it wrong. I had shopped the day before so she was referring to the wrong customer. So that seemingly implies to me this happens more often than it should and they are aware of the discrepancy yet doing nothing to correct and letting customers walk out being none the wiser? An "up and up company" would refund immediately especially since this store keeps a log of all cards and purchases(admitted to me for my refund) She only gave me a gift card to their store instead of a refund, which sucks to those not committed to buying there. So beware and keep an eye out to ensure u receive due credit for being a loyal customer!! On different note: The items sold are extremely nice. I love this store. Desk clerk hospitality varies day to day. Some days behind nice and others it's questionable but I don't care. I love the selection and prices--now I never leave without checking the Receipt though! read more
