So the money from your purchases, as well as your donations, all go toward a great cause. This new thrift store is so clean and organized. Probably 75% of the store is clothing, shoes and accessories, but they also have a great selection of used books, DVDs, and even cassette tapes and VHS for the old heads. The prices are amazing. One of my kids bought a board game for $2, and the other found a Wii game for $3. There are lots of quality home goods and kitchen stuff, too. Nothing is junky -- you can tell that they are discerning about the items that they choose to display in the store. I visited the store on its second day of being open, and I noticed that it didn't have a sign out front yet. It's still early days for the store, though, so I'm sure they'll put a sign out at some point. In the meantime, just look for the banner that says "grand opening."

We were wandering around Fountain Square and came upon this irresistible window and had to go in and check it out. I am so glad that I did. Like most Vintage shops there isn't much the bigger woman but the clothing accessories are such a treat to look at and enjoy. Places like this make me want to put on a play set in the past and go to town in this shop outfitting everyone. The clerk was very welcoming and knowledgeable. The displays in the store were very cool as well. We will definitely be back.

I just happened upon this store when I was walking around aimlessly at the mall. It's located right by Saks Fifth Avenue, at the end of the mall, just chillin' innocuously, all by itself. My sister collects vinyl, so I pawed through their selection to try to find some sick rekkids for her. I did find quite a few, actually, and they were priced right (anywhere from $1 to $10). The selection runs the gamut from Supertramp to Leonard Cohen to Perry Como. There are records for everyone here! They also sell locally made candles and smudge sticks, for all your burning needs.

They do not run big outlet locations like Goodwill where they dump donations in huge bins for people to root through and damage. You can drop off items behind their store, or in off hours bring them into the store. They so not spend tons of money on fancy TV commercials and fancy stores. Their profits go to directly serve homeless people and those with substance addiction problems. I personally know one of the people they helped to turn their life around. Please make the little extra effort to go to their thrift store which is east of the super Walmart on 96th to shop and donate. Help this small organizarion continue to do good work in our community.

This location is on the same side of the road as the Walmart and in the same plaza as the Petco, Platos, and the Autoparts store. The staff are super nice and there are a lot of volunteers walking around as well. I have found several things that are new with tags (priced accordingly), tons of name-brand goods, and there is rarely that funky thrifted smell that permeates everything you get from the WMS. They have everything from clothes to furniture/household goods to really nice jigsaw puzzles. Everything is super easy to find. Prices here at the Mission Store are a little higher than places like Goodwill, but every purchase supports the Wheeler Mission by providing meals and funding for training to their residents. There are also hand-made candles and other wares that the residents make while staying at Wheeler for purchase. Once while shopping I noticed it was busier than normal and the associate explained that they allow Wheeler residents to come and shop for what they need to get back on their feet. COOL!

I saw so many items that I loved (including some gold sandals), but I left with a long black skirt that had cork buttons running down it. See what I mean about unique?! It fit perfectly, and even better: It was 20% off! Even without the discount, the skirt (and the other thrifted clothing on the racks) were priced reasonably. I live just east of SoBro, though I'm known to claim the area as my homefront. SoBro Vintage Market is probably right on that line between what would be considered SoBro and Broad Ripple, though it undeniably carries a SoBro vibe. In case there's any doubt, this is a vintage market. The vibe tends to change here from visit to visit, though I'm not going to say I actually frequent the place because, quite honestly, it's not always particularly wheelchair friendly. Some of this stuff is vintage enough that I don't want to take a chance on breaking it with my chair. You can get art here. You can get music here. You can get clothing here. You can get some furniture here. If you look up this place on social media, you'll see that they actually have "& Curiosities" in their name - that's appropriate because they have quite a bit that I would simply call "curiosities." Prices range from "great deal" to WTF?" It seems like when I've been here, I've always seen quite a bit that falls into mid-century. That's kind of appropriate considering an awful lot of SoBro would fall into that era (including my home - a 1955 California ranch). When they are open, they are known for putting some items outside (which is how I finally stopped - I saw a wonderful retro dining room table that was to die for). People are friendly and knowledgeable. I honestly don't know a lot about the place, other than I find it to be ultra-cool, and I've never stopped by that I didn't see something I'd want (and will sometimes get). If you're into the vintage scene, SoBro Vintage Market is definitely worth a visit. The store definitely smelled stale, but some of the items were clearly new. The style of clothing was outdated, in my opinion, but they did have a nice selection of shoes. The main issue that I had was that the used, non-designer shoes were overpriced. I didn't see anything under $29.90. The staff didn't acknowledge us on our way in or on our way out. Would not recommend.
