I really wanted to like this doctor but unfortunately, I just wasted time and money with me having to take it into my own hands for help. I had severe back pain for up to 2 months prior before finally succumbing to find relief. I already got an x-ray through urgent care and for my FIRST $95 visit before even seeing Dr. Bhalla a nurse escorted me to take an x-ray. I sat in the exam room for 30 mins in immense pain and the doctor comes in and Dr. Bhalla says nothing is showing on the x-ray (I could have told you that before making me do it). He did ask what kind of pain I was in which I said I can not sleep or get my daily work done. Then he said to make an appointment for a MRI then mentioned how it will take about a couple days to get approval through my insurance. After leaving my first visit, he never asked if I needed help with the pain- I am not some pain addict but some sort of care for my pain would have been nice. Finally, after a week of me calling non-stop I get my SECOND appointment pay $100 to get the MRI and had to make an appointment to go back to get the results in a few days. Now the THIRD visit of 3 weeks of me being in unbearable unsleepable pain I have to pay ANOTHER $95 to get the MRI results and he says how my L4 and L5 are tweaked and they need to get approval from my insurance and come back in about 2 weeks to give me a steroid shot in my joint. Again asked how my pain is and I said I have yet to sleep in 2 months and I am crying in this exam room how much I hurt and he again did not offer any sort of pain relief. I had to call after my appointment and beg for some sort of help and the NURSE gave me a steroid pill to take and I finally felt better this could have been done the first visit with trial and error if that was the case. PLEASE if you care for yourself. Don't bother with this so called doctor. read more

I had, had pain for quite some time and couldn't shake it. Tried every kind of muscle relaxant, pain killer, anti-anxiety med, weekly acupuncture, chiropractor, yoga, and lost 20 pounds. My right leg and back hurt EVERYDAY and eventually the leg went numb making it hard to balance. On the recommendation of a co-worker, I met Dr. Bhalla. Tall, handsome, great smile. His promise: "we're gonna work together to get you better". We did everything possible to avoid the "s" word, but I was getting worse. Not his first suggestion, but the final, inevitable was a lumbar laminectomy L4-L5 posterior lumbar instrumented fusion L4-L5. A WHAT????? Nervous as I was, I trusted Dr. Bhalla. I came through the surgery with some pain, less than two days later, I went home. Two days later I could walk slowly to the restroom with no assistance getting up. Everyday, yes EVERYDAY, I progressed. I felt so much better, By a week and a half, I walked a 1/4 mile, then 1/2 mile and now I do a mile every other day. I'm back at work after being off just seven weeks. No restrictions. From the Dr. Bhalla to the Receptionists, the Secretaries, Nurses, X-ray, MRI, Housekeeping, and the Schedulers, everyone, EVERYONE has been kind, courteous, informative, trustworthy, empathetic, friendly, responsive, patient, great bedside manner, honest and great listeners. No more pain on the weaker (right) leg. I'd say I'm a success! And the bonus, I get a smile and the same concern from Dr. Bhalla with every follow-up visit. My Son was involved in a bad accident, he broke his lower back. The Doctor's taking care of him were not doing a very good job at it...I had just had a fusion repair job behind my neck 9 days before this happened by Doctor Phillip Yuan. At my post op appt. following my Surgery, I mentioned to Dr. Yuan my son was being hospitalized for a broken back without a plan by the Team of Doctors caring for him, other than they were going to send him home in a vest like brace he'd have to wear for 3 months & be pretty much bed ridden...Dr. Yuan said he'd check on him without me even asking, this was on a Friday. Doctor Bhalla who is Partners with Dr. Yuan called me on the following Tuesday left me a msg telling me he'd like to do a FUSION on my son the very next day Wednesday, May 31 on my Birthday, not that I was celebrating, I was recovering from my Surgery still. I told Dr. BHALLA to do what he needed to do...my son was discharged 3 days after Surgery & his recovery went very well. Dr. Bhalla is an AWESOME Doctor with AMAZING SKILLS & very caring. We're so grateful Dr. Yuan stepped in & his Partner took control. I would highly recommend Dr. Bhalla to anyone with any spine problem, he & Dr. Phillip Yuan are EXCELLANT Spinal Doctors. I can't saw enough about the spine surgery that Dr. Bhalla did for me on March 20. 2017. At our first meeting, he went over my MRI with me and explained the problem I was having, He recommended surgery as the only was to relieve the pain I was having. so we set up the surgery for March 20, 2017. I was not looking forward to surgery, as I had spine surgery 4 years earlier and still remember the pain and problems I had during the recovery period. My surgery was done at Memorial Hospital, prior to surgery I attended a spine surgery class and toured the new 4th floor spine, hip and knee rooms, all of which are single rooms. I also met Maria, the physical therapist for the floor. The surgery took a couple of hours and I was soon in my room recovering, I was encouraged to dress in my own clothes. and Maria came by and encouraged me to get up and walk, which I am sure helped my recovery, Long story short, Dr. Bhalla did a wonderful job, he put me a ease and I am doing great, two weeks after the surgery, I am walking with no pain. I highly recommend Dr. Bhalla to anyone who needs spine surgery. read more

I had an issues in my left shoulder that generated pain down to my left elbow as well as down to my left scapula. Pain meds didn't help. They only lower the intensity. I saw my Orthopedic Surgeon whose specialty is knees and shoulders. His diagnosis was an impingement of the shoulder. After physical therapy treatments and other non-surgical remedies, nothing stopped the pain. I was told I had a neck problem. He referred me to Dr. Bhalla, a Spine Surgeon. I felt he must be pretty damn good if a known Surgeon was recommending another known Surgeon. After a thorough exam that included an MRI, his diagnosis was a herniated disc in my neck that was resting on a nerve. I inquired of the options. He said none, unless you can live with the pain. He said check the internet or other doctors and let me know what you find. I did and found no conflicts. Dr. Bhalla performed surgery on the spine of my neck through an incision under my chin. After an over night stay in the hospital, I was discharged and haven't had an ounce of pain since the surgery including pain from the surgery itself. read more

Dr. Bhalla is an outstanding surgeon! He is not only highly skilled and knowledgeable, but compassionate and understanding. Dr. Bhalla stepped in to repair my C3-T1 posterior fusion done 6 months earlier by another surgeon. The C3 screw had backed out, others were loose, & I was in a lot of pain. Having had 3 neck surgeries already, I was devastated, but I am so happy that I listened to my gut and had Dr. Bhalla do the revision surgery. From the pre-surgical tests, meeting with family members, to post surgery care and follow up visits, Dr. Bhalla made a very scary and difficult situation better. Everything about this surgery was easier and less painful. I am 6 months post surgery and my construct is solid! Dr. Bhalla has been so supportive every step of the way. I use to see Dr Bhalla senior, when he retired I felt lost. He was the only upfront and honest Dr I have ever met. I started seeing his son Dr A. Bhalla, he is just like his father, open, honest and very nice. I would not trust any other Dr to do my back surgery. It has to be him. And believe me I have seen a lot of spine Drs to get opinions on my back. He is the absolute best. His office staff are very nice and professional. Being a retired nurse,... I have known a lot of Drs and know what I like in a Dr, and know what to expect from a Dr and his staff. They all fit the bill,....they always do their best to figure things out for you if your having issues. Love them and won't go to any other Orthopedic Dr. He will not try to push you into surgery but he explains every option you have. read more

I have been in paid for over 8 months because of their misdiagnosis and mistreatment. I finally switched insurance and was able to see another medical group that properly diagnosed me. Rushed visit. Overall a horrible experience, and the doctor should be feel ashamed at the level of care. Especially when you don't know whats wrong with you, don't expect help. My insurance even cut back my treatment and all that needed to be done was the doctor to talk to the insurance company to continue treatment and the people working at the site said they would not do that and is not something that they do here. Instead I had to go out of pocket to continue treatment. Again shame. read more

Dr. Bhalla is an excellent physician and helped me immensely. I had shooting pain down my leg and my health department doctor either thought I was faking or didn't know what was wrong. I went to see Dr. Bhalla and before even looking at my x-rays or MRI's, he immediately said it was a bulging disc. Physical therapy wasn't an option because it was a bad case, but Dr. Bhalla told me what to expect before the surgery, during the surgery, and after it. He was genuinely concerned with how I was doing and looked very happy after I was healed. Long story short, if you need to see an orthopedic doctor, I would request to be seen by Dr. Bhalla.
