Thirdly, how quick everything was taken care of! From getting called by my health insurance after my primary care Dr made it available for my health insurance to refer me to an Orthopedic Dr. close by to get this appt, to getting in and immediately being taken into a room when I walked in on time, to getting an x ray and to getting seen by the Dr! Who, by the way, was super nice and honest and really interested in helping me out! Him and his staff are already working on referring me to a physical therapist. I totally recommend him!

He was so patient and very good at explaining the plan we were going to do to fix my problem with L2&3 of my lower back. This after having L4&5 done by another doctor. He made sure to connect the L2-4 even though he didn't do L3&4 and made sure to recheck them too. He also made sure that I was good before allowing the hospital to discharge me. I was so glad he did because it made recuperating at home easier and experienced no problems. His staff were great to in coordinating everything for the surgery. After care is great too as he explains everything to me. Even giving me physical therapy to help me get my strength back. I did choose Southland Physical Therapy in Long Beach because my therapist, Sami had received great feedback for Dr Yuan from his other clients who had surgery with Dr Yuan. I am a 65 year old male who is very active. Dr. Wassef did a total R hip replacement on me two…read moreweeks ago. I had a successful left hip replacement 2.5 years ago by another surgeon who used a more universal posterior approach with MAKO robotic assist, so I have a good point of comparison. Dr. Wassef uses the DSA (Direct Superior Approach) with MAKO robotic assist which is currently a less common method due to the specific training and technique required to do this approach (google DSA to see differences). In simple terms i have been blown away at how minimally invasive this approach seems to be. Without a doubt, to date, this technique has been less painful than my previous hip. I am so impressed at how quickly I was walking normally without a walker or cane and without any limp. At 2 weeks in I am in PT doing exercises that i could not get to many many weeks beyond the 2 week point with my previous hip. Incision is quite small as well but i am not a "meaty" guy so not sure what allowed me to have such a small incision. Lastly I have NO problem taking narcotic pain meds like oxycodone! I'm not an abuser but definitely a willing user if need be. After this surgery I had real trouble justifying much of any use of the Oxy prescribed. I easily survived on two 500 mg tabs of Tylenol 2x's a day once in AM and once before bed. Thanks Doc.

I was waiting to write this review but my recent experience over the phone just pushed it over the edge. The front desk staff makes me feel like I am bothering them. Even checking in- come on it's part of your job!! Looking at previous reviews it seems like it has been an ongoing issue. I was overcharged on my first 2 appointments and ended up with a large credit. I was notified the therapist I was working with was leaving and the only other therapist that has experience with my issue does not have availability for a few weeks. So I wanted my credit back as a check- it showed on my insurance application that the claim was processed so I called in. I spoke to Jaden and she said that it was not sent back to them yet so they would call me back when it did. I confirmed with them that they would call me back and she said she wouldn't just leave me hanging.. Then I said thank you, bye and she proceeded to just hang up without any bye or anything. I don't know why every front desk employee seems like they are miserable working there- not sure if it is management or just all of their bad attitudes every time. Won't be returning. Please retrain the front desk!! Makes me feel uncomfortable interacting with them.

Dr. Chao saw me for 10mins top then sent me back another day for Dr. Srinivas. Mind you, I was in a wheelchair; their building is not accessibility friendly at all for an orthopedic clinic (no automatic door or door button), so entering it by myself was a dreadful experience. They then bill me $150 for both visits, which is $75 for a visit I am not entitled to. Calling their billing department and they replied "There's nothing we can't do because there were written notes." If I had known I would be billed that much money for someone else's mistake, I would have reported! The cherry on top? They terminated contract with my insurance company at the beginning of this year so they could not take me in for my last checkup. I tried working with my insurance for the CARE Act, but to no avail. Dr. Srinivas was splendid but I would not recommend this clinic to anyone else.
