The food here is so good. My favorite is the paneer tikki masala. Also the rice pudding and the deep fried milk puffs.. delicious.

Where was the flavor besides spice? I have eaten at my fair share of Indian Restaurants and I decided to try this place since it was near me and has good reviews. I ordered take out through the online website. I decided to get an order of vegetable samosas, chicken makhani - medium, a small rice, garlic naan and achar (pickled vegetables). My order was ready a few minutes after their suggested time and I didn't have to wait too long for it. I checked my bag and everything was there. Upon first glance I was excited because it all looked delicious. I got home and put some of each item on the plate and everything smelled and looked great. However I tried to samosas without the sauces first and it was absolutely bland. Some of the most bland samosas I've had in awhile. I was not to keen on either sauce but the green one was slightly better. And yes I've had them before but excuse me for forgetting the actual names. The garlic naan was the least garlic naan I have ever eaten at an Indian restaurant. It tasted like nothing honestly. I hardly had flavor. The chicken was nothing but spice. I was craving this and I was so disappointed once I took the first bite. After my second bite to confirm it had no flavor I was upset about spending close to $40 on takeout. The rice was rice and the achar was the most flavorful thing on the plate. The I was able to enjoy the chicken and rice a little better by mixing in the pickled veggies. Like I said I have eaten at enough Indian restaurants to know the flavors and to give an opinion/review as far as my preferences are concerned. Ooph.... My wife and I had a rare evening to ourselves and decided to duck into Aman's since it had 4.5 stars. I honestly have no idea how that's their rating. Starting with the good: the service was fast and very friendly. The chai tea and lassi were both good, although perhaps my first clue should to other problems should have been that all the sugar packets in the dish were rock solid. Our food came out rather quickly. I had a paneer dish and my wife chicken. The paneer was really odd and almost had no flavor which is really bizarre considering how spiced Indian food is. My wife ate a few pieces of chicken and stopped. She said it's either old, or precooked and frozen but the texture was not right. We both spent the rest of the evening listening to the sounds our stomachs were making. I'm writing this review wide awake while my stomach is cramping. Final note to anyone going here for the buffet, look at the ceiling above the buffet. It is disgustingly stained black from not being cleaned. I would not eat anything from under those ceiling tiles. I've been here years ago and the food was ok. Not great. But good. Saag Paneer is my go to dish although I prefer eggplant because while Saag Paneer is USUALLY good at most places in the area, Baingan Bharta is hit or miss. So, I ordered papadum, saag paneer and - because I love tamarind - Papri Chaat. Which is described on the menu as "seasoned potatoes and vegetables 'with crisp wafers' tossed in yogurt, topped with tamarind sauce". The papri chaat was primarily "crisp wafers" with little potatoes and the only vegetable was a few random chickpeas. Little tamarind sauce, which was packaged separately in a small container that spilled in the bag. The papadum I ordered had no accompanying sauces (usually it comes with a tamarind, a chutney, and a cilantro chutney) and I received only a single severally crushed piece of papadum. Attached is a picture of what I paid $3 for. As I mentioned, I ordered the saag paneer "hot". Not only was it extremely watery, it also tasted oily with no discernable spice. Trader Joe's has better Indian, I have palak paneer from Trader Joe's that I'll try to mix in with Aman's saag paneer to make it palatable. I hate to waste food, otherwise it would go straight into the compost. Go to Tiffin if you want to go to a restaurant and are in the mood for Indian food. read more

My girlfriend and I came here for a quick lunch and it was surprisingly empty, especially for being during lunch time. The empty space and the lack of ambiance left us a little hesitant since this was our first time coming here... to be honest, we even thought about leaving. We decided to order anyways, just to see if we would even bother coming back or just crossing this place off our "places to eat". I swear as soon as our food came out, everyone in the immediate area came in for pick up orders. This was a good sign for us, and left us a little more hopeful as we went to take our first bites... Let me tell you, this food was absolutely delicious. It was full of flavor and cooked perfectly. It was a little pricey for the amount of food you receive, but it was still worth it. This place fits the "don't judge a book by its cover" slogan. With a little decorating, and maybe some background music to cover up the dead silence, I would give this a half star on top of this 4. read more

Ordered 3 dishes and all were watery. Chicken tika, chicken curry and, tadka daal had no flavor and the sauce looks like it was totally watered down. Garlic Naan was also bland. Vegetable samosas we're decent but all the sauces were watered down too. Not even worth the try. read more

This restaurant is a hidden gem in chester county. Truly a bistro the chef Arjun is expert at figuring out your palette and create or adjust the menu. This small restaurant in a very unassuming location puts out some very flavorful Indian cuisine that is not to be missed, They adjust the degree of heat to your specifications, and each dish has its own unique flavor. The lunch buffet is a great way to sample a lot of the dishes they offer. There is a large variety, and everything was fresh and delicious. Absolutely try the freshly prepared breads that Indian cuisine is famous for. The service is attentive but not intrusive. They offer helpful menu suggestions and really want you to have a good dining experience. For a nice change of pace for dining, this place is well-worth the trip. read more

I personally love the food here - specially their naan and rotis are soft and just so amazing. My all time favorite curry is Kaju Matar and Methi Malai Matar. All their curries are absolutely delicious. Best Indian food in this area for sure. We have enjoyed coming here for their buffet. Chicken Tikka has a tasty creamy spicy sauce where I dip their naan bread that is made fresh. Tandoori Chicken is one of my favorite, inside is moist and sumptuous. Goat Curry is delicious and not gamey, the spiced brown sauce just outstanding. For dessert, Mango purée is the best, never artificial taste with small mango pieces. I only wish this place stays open for a long time. Sunday brunch is not as crowded as before. This is my first visit to this beautiful Indian restaurant. I really liked the ambience and locality. The staff are welcoming nice. I've opted for a vegetable buffet as I was not in a mood to wait for dining order. For vegetarians, the starters options are nothing but a pakora. And pakora is just average. But starting from main dishes and curries, everything is tasty especially Aman's special dal and Mutter Panner are awesome. The dessert options are more and gulab Jamoon was too good. I've ordered takeout from here twice now and loved the food both times. The staff has always been friendly and the food was ready within about half an hour on each occasion. Although I have not dined in yet, the restaurant appears to have a nice and quiet dining room, so I would certainly consider that option in the future. The only reason I'm giving it less than five stars is because the takeout containers are a little shaky, particularly the styrofoam rice dish -- be careful when you are carrying the bag that you don't spill rice everywhere! read more

I LOVE this little gem. I've been dying for a close-to-home Indian restaurant forever. I started by ordering carry-out. You can put in your order online, which is WONDERFUL. I went into the restaurant and was greeted immediately. They sat me down, asked if I needed a drink or anything and told me my food was coming right out. They were so attentive and I wasn't even eating there. I've had the lunch buffet three times now, including today. I love it and you can not beat it for $10. I've been to Indian buffets all over PA and MD and this is really top notch. The food is fresh and hot and I've never seen the little trick they use to keep the rice fresh and light. They put plastic wrap over the warmer pan and put the rice on top of that. So you still get the heat from the pan but the rice isn't sitting there getting hard or stale. Brilliant! The naan is not stacked in a pile on the buffet, it's made to order, but it's included. It's warm and fluffy with the perfect amount of ghee. Tikka masala is my favorite, but honestly everything on the line is terrific. Just enough spice, but choices for non-spice people, like my hubby. He isn't a huge Indian food fan but managed three platefuls. The only and I mean ONLY thing that was not top notch in my opinion was the gulab jamun on the bar. It was the really tiny balls and the syrup was very very warm. Every place I've had it has a different style and this one seemed a little lemony to me. I like them larger and on the plain side with a lukewarm honey syrup. Then again I'm spoiled since my best friend's mother is visiting from India and has made me homemade three times since being here! Not related to the restaurant at all, but the few times I've been there some customers seem very rude. Very loud and disrespectful to the staff and other diners. There were two people on cell phones, one on SPEAKER, today and I could tell the staff was a little embarrassed, but didn't want to upset those customers. Which I thought was nice. At Aman's you have the option of a full dinner menu after 5Pm, ordering online during normal business hours, or you can experience the joy known as the lunch buffet (as we did) from 11:30 TO 2:30 Mon - Fri (or noon to 3, on Sat and Sun). The cost is only $10.95 and the selection is vast... From your standard Indian buffet offerings of Chicken Tikka Masala, Tandoori Chicken, Samosa, Saag, Curry, etc. to the rarer items, each dish tastes freshly prepared as if it was served as your main dinner entree. The best part is, since it's a buffet, you can sample many of these delicious entrees. On this day, there were a few interesting standouts... Navratan Korma: A Mughlai dish that gets its name (meaning nine gems) from the nine different veggies, fruit and nuts used in it. Goat Rogan Josh: A staple of Kashmiri cuisine this dish consists of braised goat chunks cooked in a gravy of browned onions, yogurt, garlic, ginger and aromatic spices (cloves, bay leaves, cardamom and cinnamon). If you are looking for super authentic Indian food, this is not the place for you. The food was not spicy enough for our liking. The kababs were not marinated well and were dry. We ordered malai kabab and lehsuni kabab but they both tasted the same. The chicken (vindaloo and curry) we ordered tasted ok. The naans were perfectly made though! We've ordered takeout and eaten at the buffet- good dishes include okra, eggplant, tandoori vegetables, all the vindaloos... just a warning, everything is pretty spicy, even when requested "mild". Vindaloo uncomplicated spice wise with a strong tomato bias and an odd sour flavor, and this dish is prepared in many different ways but this was one of the worst I've had.
