    S'mores Latte
    Leeza S.

First of all, it is the cutest coffee shop. It reminded me of a place I used to go to with my grandparents in my childhood neighborhood. My barista was so kind and introduced me to what made Amateur unique, when I told him my goal was to visit every coffee shop in Omaha. Amazing service! I had a s'mores latte that was so good! I loved the variety of flavors they had available. I want to try more, so I will definitely be back. I also got a pumpkin bar that was fresh and delicious. Amateur coffee is a real gem in the city!

Very cutie place! I love the atmosphere and the drinks are delicious! I also love the reusable jars and vegan friendly!

one of the most unique coffee shops in omaha is perhaps Amateur Coffee. 100% vegan shop from head to toe. but you certainly do not have to be vegan; this place is objectively outstanding. there is a seasonal menu each month with staples 24/7 like the brown sugar shaken espresso & our personal favorite, the pistachio iced latte. they have a reusable glass jar program. you can buy one initially in shop then bring it back for $2 off your order, but you can also bring in your own reusable cup. no throw away cups will be given out, so bring your own or buy a jar!!! love the push for sustainability. they also serve vegan pastries from sweet magnolias which is located next door. go check it out!!!!

Fun local vegan coffee shop. The butterbeer shaken oat milk espresso was delicious. Now if I can just remember to bring back my glass jars.....

I've been to Amateur coffee a few times now and would recommend it to anyone looking for a great coffee. I have never been disappointed! I'm a sucker for a good featured menu, and they always deliver with delicious, unique drinks! There's always something new to try. Their pastries are delish too. They are an all vegan coffee shop and I would never be able to tell that the pastries were vegan, i'm not vegan and they taste completely normal and delish to me! The staff is always super kind and helpful. I love the vibe inside too, but be warned, it's a pretty small space and it has been packed every time I have gone. I also wouldn't recommend going if you are in a hurry, we don't always get our orders super fast, which has always been ok with us. They have cute prints, merch, coffee gear, etc. to browse while you wait!

Their winter menu is incredible! The hot cocoa was delicious and not too overly sweet, we were bummed they didn't add the homemade marshmallows in our cup but we have all winter to try it!!! The beet latte is a delicious wellness drink, I love how every single drink I ordered was not too sweet, it almost feels like a huge treat! The day I went was a Saturday morning and it was very busy but they were so fast and quick to get everyone's drinks with JUST two employees! We love this local coffee shop, and we absolutely love the reusable jars so great for the environment

Our first visit and we wondered why we hadn't been there sooner. Small neighborhood shop. Delicious coffee and baked goods. Great service! We enjoyed the intimate atmosphere vs the big chain style. We will be back soon!!

Love this place! A fully vegan coffee shop is a highlight in the Omaha area. We used to live down the street and would come often, but since we moved I haven't been able to have their delicious coffee again until today! It was fairly busy for a Thursday morning but I still got my drink (brown sugar shaken espresso with oat milk, the default milk) within 5-7 minutes. A pretty short wait! The barista was great, he was friendly and communicative. I opted for a drink off the regular menu, but they do have special menus seasonally. You can't go wrong! I like that oat milk is the default milk, since I often opt for it in lattes. There aren't many seats inside, but on the patio there's a couple small tables. They roast their beans in-house, and can sometimes even catch them during a roast if you come at the right time! The drink was good, not too sweet, and I love love love that they use glass jars. They have a jar recycling program so you can bring back jars for a discount on a drink.

Love this little coffee shop! Small but cozy. Belly up to the bar and you can watch the baristas making drinks. I enjoy their coffee, it's not bitter to me. To-go coffee is served in a glass jar or you can bring your own jar/cup/mug/travel cup etc. They have some great artwork cards and prints for sale too by a local artist. There are pastries available too! Enjoy!

This place is so cute and vibrant. They sell drinks, a few pastries, and some merch designed by local artists. The location is very convenient. There's a small parking lot behind the building. Otherwise, there's street parking in front after 9am. Right next door is Lisa's Radial Cafe which has some good food. Next to Lisa's is one of my favorite bakeries called Sweet Magnolias. All within a few feet! I bought an iced pistachio latte and an iced smoky caramel latte. You have the option of spending an additional $2 per drink to get the reusable jar, so I did that! The employees are very friendly and took the time to explain how their reusable jar program works as it was my first time there. Like the sticker says, you can get $2 off your next drink by taking in your glass jar. They swap out your jar for a new one when you take it in the next time you stop there. One of the employees said she uses hers to store spices in her pantry which is super cute! I also purchased some beautiful postcards done by Jasmyn Wichert, who I learned, after looking her up to find more of her art, is the owner!!! This was first time visiting this coffee shop and it's already one of my favorites!

This is a cute little coffee shop that roasts its own coffee. I was looking for someplace that had vegan breakfast offerings. The drink menu is much more extensive than the food. I ended up getting chia pudding, their breakfast sandwich (vegan), and a scone. The breakfast sandwich was a little dry and the tofu/egg was a bit tough, but hey, it's hard to compete with a buttery biscuit and real egg. The coffee is a smooth, medium roast. I enjoyed a latte and a cappuccino on different days. In addition, there are quite a few alternatives to coffee. We tried the Turmeric/Golden Milk and Beet & Ginger Latte and liked them both. All the drinks are served in glass jars with screw-on covers and when you bring them back, you get a couple dollars applied to your order. Service is fast.

The atmosphere is really cute and neat! Not too much room inside tho. I got myself a Matcha Blueberry drink and it was pretty ok. I love how they use glass jars its very environmentally friendly !!! Please go check this place out! They have so many options. Ill come back next time definitely.

Right when you walk in, you are greeted with lots of colorful mugs and merch to your right. The barista was super friendly and service was super quick! I got the iced caramel latte and my boyfriend got the brown sugar shaken. I LOVED both. The caramel latte was much more sweet and creamy. While the brown sugar shaken had more espresso flavor. I really love how everything there is vegan and how you can get their cute glass jars! If you buy a glass jar for $2 and bring it back for them to put your drink in, you get $2 off! Even with buying both our glass jars along with two drinks, it was less expensive than Starbucks. I love how they are making an effort to prevent waste by utilizing the glass jars. I can't wait to come back and try another drink soon!

Mocha with oat milk ... take away glass jars (return for $2 off your next coffee).

Is there another type of vegan milk besides Oatly? Possibly soy or almond?

They absolutely use soy and almond milk too! Oat milk is just their default one so you have to let them know. You also get a discount if you bring your own cup :)

I feel like it's hard to photograph the food here to show how good it is. I asked the waiter -…read morepotentially the owner - what his favorite dish was, and he recommended the beef tips, extra spicy... I obliged happily. The dish was a majority of tender, yet chewy, beef in a savory and spicy sauce, along with lettuce with a vinegar tang. You eat it with a sponge/thin pancake bread that married everything well together. I think it was around $20. I really want to go back and try the combo platter, but I was by myself and it appeared to be a good amount of food.

Parking in the rear, away from the road…read more Ordered spiced tea, combination plate, veggie plate, two teas (one returned). $51.47. There are two tax lines on our receipt, that's odd. There is a city (1.5%) and state tax (5.5%). Not sure if we can add any single dishes if needed, but will likely will be full after our plates. The spiced tea is super sweet. I asked for the tea without any sweetener or sugar, it was way too sweet for me. They only have this sweet tea and that's it. The red lentil was the better of all of the dishes. The collard green, yellow lentil, green peas or beans, cabbage, salad were all okay. The lamb and beef were okay, a bit overcooked. The chicken drumstick was cooked well and was falling off the bone. Their injera is quite puffy and billowy here than most places we have been to. It's very filling with one roll. The Jalapeño and garlic is quite potent, it's good, but be prepared to smell like garlic after the small portion of it. The combination plate has small portions of all of the veggies.

Stumbled upon this business through Uber Eats (or DoorDash). I messaged them on instagram to…read moreconfirm that they are 100% vegan. Tracked down their food truck and gave them a try. The menu is vegan fast/comfort/junk food, but for a food truck, it's a fairly extensive menu. I decided to try the hard shell tacos. 2 crispy corn shell tacos with Beyond Beef; no cheese - $8. They were ok. Nothing stood out in terms of flavor, seasoning, toppings, etc. An innovative salsa and topping would set these off. Loaded Fries - A ton of seasoned crinkle fries loaded with Beyond Beef, onions, lettuce, fried jalapeño crisps, and other things that I omitted (queso, tomato, and ranch). I added vegan bacon. Now, without the queso, it is dry and you definitely feel like something is missing. (Completely my choice, since I don't like queso or cheesy anything) I got some vegan spicy aioli from a nearby place and it was perfection! Delicious! I'd go back for this junk food fest! Cheesecake Egg Roll - I know, I know. I hate cheese and cheesy things, but cheesecake is different. I've always loved cheesecake. It's cheesecake-like filling inside a deep fried shell, topped with strawberries. It's more like a wonton or dessert taco than an egg roll, but it was so yummy. Messy and delicious. Would definitely order it again. Check their website and ig for their food truck schedule and give them a try.
